He did. It was when he played a concert in the USSR. The "authorities" there put strict rules on how the show would be carried out - They kept the lights on the audience and had security officers throughout the crowd to ensure that no one was dancing. So, in protest, Billy yelled those things during the song. He also decided to overturn his piano and kick over a microphone stand to make a spectacle, since the crowd wasn't allowed to move. It's on RUclips, i'll see if I can find it.
THIS is the show that they should have cleaned up and released as the DVD for the My Lives box set and not that boring show from the River Of Dreams tour! Release this Sony!
It's a shame that Billy didn't include the salute to Ringo Starr, by sayin', 'I got blisters on my blisters!' LOL! God bless ya, for postin' it. Have a blessed Christmas!

Great song i preffer the alternative lyric version though: "Gotta take control get a hold of my emotions STOP LIGHTING THE AUDIENCE, why does it always seem to get me in the middle of the night STOP IT! You told me there's a number I can always dial... LET ME DO MY SHOW FOR CHRISTS SAKE!"
He didn't kill himself, he attempted it by drinking furniture polish. Fortunately he was not successful and he later wrote the song "Your only human(Second Wind)" which was written to prevent teens from committing suicide. He has been to hospitals twice to help him with his substance abuse. So to set the record straight, he did not kill himself and he is still alive.
+ Billy actually took a whole bottle of Valium, they let him outta the hospital and he drank the lemon-flavored furniture polish... Thank God he didn't make it all the way!

His best bass player by far and apparently did alot of the arrangements for the band.

I honestly can't understand why this was never a big hit...
Radio stations were too scared to play it because of the subject matter, so it stalled on the Hot 100.
nope...this is from Houston,TX ...you can get a full DVD on this show.. (from members of the Joelfan fansite)

If you listen to the Record version and then the Cd reissue the telephone dialing is different. I notice things like that.
