Still think the 208 gti has the edge for nicest hatch back that I've driven (for its price range). On another note, I'm so glad they changed the interior!! that's exactly what for needed and for the first time in years, I'd actually consider buying one now.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to say I prefer the old exterior but I actually prefer the old interior also, especially the old speed dials, I love the tubes that protrude from the border of the dials.
I hate to see Ford going downwards like this. Interior is great, the front is alright, the back is awful. ..but overall *extremely dull*. Previous fiesta looked really exciting, one of the best looking in its class
That's exactly what I thought watching this. They twisted the grille so it lost its Aston Martin gene, the back looks chubbier and it's something about the new headlights that doesn't seem right... To be fair though, the ST looks alright.
Looks really good inside and out. This time the interior looks like it has been designed by a grown up and thats a very good thing. And less edgy body styling means it will still look nice and modern in five years.
I preferred the previous model. This Fiesta looks too cute/ feminine now. There's no way I'd get any spec other than the ST-Line version (for slightly more aggressive looks). Although I must say the interior looks like an irrefutable improvement all round lol.
MrMagnificentMedia it's not cute or feminine looking just more smoothed out and mature than the old one + the titanium is normally offered with St style pack which makes the titanium look like a more upmarket st line .
The interior looks far better than my current 2014 model but the exterior looks like a bubble, i think its the lights, similar to how kia ruined the look of the sportage this year
Current model is more beautiful and nicer to look at both on the front and back. However newer tech, engines and interior are tempting. Gotta see in flesh for final decision. Hope that they didn't ruined class and - maybe class above - leading driving dynamics and fun goes with it.
Matt I need your advice. I'm sick of driving stick and I've saved up about 12k for small auto car. What would you recommend? It doesn't have to be too flashy, just reliable and good on tech. Cheers !
very nice update this model will give the Polo a tough fight , because all the positives may remain like the great handiling but the mature approch will give it extras like the improved quality inside , comfort and practicality over its predesser so i think it will be better than the current Polo or Fabia
Finally, took them long enough. The current fiesta is quite off-putting to me personally, the mentioned wedge shape, the grille and most of all the interior with optimus prime on top of the dashboard and seemingly downward facing AC controls. I didn't even bother with a test drive because I can't stand the cockpit. The new one looks much better. If the rear seats and boot are comparable to the current i20 (or 2017 Rio), this might be it. I want an economical small (about 4 meters long) car, over 300l of boot space and a rear bench where a 5'9" person doesn't scrape against the headliner or front seat. Turbo lag is a big issue (drivers in city centres are impatient here, you often have to aggressively wedge yourself between 2 cars to change lanes) and 170 kph needs to be sustainable. The 2017 Rio seems to be perfect for me. Looks fantastic, big boot, heated steering wheel, excellent noise and ride (if similar to the i20), even though the 3-pot Kia engines feel gutless.
Looks big, almost as big as a mk1 Focus id say. And expensive at more than 13k for the entry level! It was only a couple models ago you could buy a fiesta ST 2.0L for the same money brand new! The interior is a welcomed update, very nice.
This reminds me when Ford replaced the sharp looking mk1 Focus with the bland looking mk2 Focus. This new Fiesta lacks the sporty looks of the current Fiesta.
admiralpicard2010 The Ka+ is based on the Fiesta platform as opposed to the shared Fiat 500 platform and is therefore not only a taller car but a BIGGER car. That's my entire point. Ford need a small, fun car as stated.
No Ford dont need a smaller car than KA+, there is an awful lot of competition in there , pitting a smaller one will never do good in terms of business
Wonder if they'll do an RS version. If they make it 3 door, widen the wheel arches, lower it and have a Focus RS look to it; putting the 2.3L EcoBoost engine in it, then I might be interested.
Hopefully they will offer a body kit pack as an option the titanium with St style pack in deep impact blue would look great. I love the daytime running lights.
Fiesta getting bigger & bigger with each generation! When Peugeot replaced 207 with the new 208 it actually made the new model smaller on the outside with a larger cabin - now that's clever design Ford
I never understood the Europeans' obsession with soft-touch interiors. It's like, who's gonna be caressing the dashboard and the lower edges of the center console while driving?
As ever Mat, you've beaten Autoexpress to the punch and your video is way more informative! Well done mate. Personally, I think the new Micra looks much more cohesive inside and out than this New Fiesta. Obviously it won't be as good to drive, but it should be class competitive. Can't wait for your review of the new Micra.
I feel like they've made the Fiesta boring. I just bought the last shape Fiesta and I have no regrets after seeing this, it seems to have more character than this new model.
I love the look of this just as much as the outgoing model. Not sure about the ST version though.. doesn't look that sporty. Would be cool if they did an RS version
Looks like a facelift and that interior will look old within 2yrs...the active model seems a strange choice when other manufacturers tried this cross version of hatches before they never really took off customers like cars that look like 4x4s but aren't
It looks like a weird happy fish but I prefer this rather than those new Japanese cars that are overstyled into oblivion with lots of creases and gaping grille that will not look good in 3 years, as opposed to the outgoing Fiestas which are still look good today even though it was released back in 2008
Now the fiesta looks top of the class again the current one is showing it's age now especially on the inside. Ford have definitely been working hard to make look most modern makes the polo and corsa look old.
I am in love with this car (first time ever in love with Ford's..), I wish Ford India launches it here by the end of 2017, or I'll go ahead and buy Hyundai Elite or Swift (2017). Hope Ford discloses it in coming few months as I don't want to regret with my purchase later :D
AholicX all the way Fiesta. Driven both the Ibiza has cheap interior but more space inside. The Fiesta is not so big inside but more worthy and it Drives better. I compared the st line Fiesta with the Ibiza Fr. Just my honest opinion. I ordered the st line
Looks yum!!! Hope Ford launches it in India, too, next year! The Indian market has started accepting higher priced hatchbacks in the past couple of years. Just look at the runaway success of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Ford should take a cue from it.
I like it. Looking forward to the reviews to see if it really does drive better. Thumbs up to ford for keeping driving fun. Australia will be getting the Thai built version so hopefully this doesn't comprise the build quality and engine options again.
ok- so the small cars get bigger every generation until they have to make a new model the size of the first generation (like the polo that is as big as a golf used to be and now there is a up to actualy make a small car again) WTF!
It's intentional so that carmakers can say "hey look, I know you have the old version but this new one is so much better and bigger and has more equipment". Creating an incentive for people to buy the new model, the price creeps up too of course. I believe toyota started it somewhere in the 80's and it was such a massive succes that every other carmaker followed suit. And then they re-name their line-up and introduce a new small car every so often, so the entire game can start all over again.
old car looked like it was designed for young drivers, this new one looks good for my gran
The interior looks quite nice
Still think the 208 gti has the edge for nicest hatch back that I've driven (for its price range). On another note, I'm so glad they changed the interior!! that's exactly what for needed and for the first time in years, I'd actually consider buying one now.
A5hTriX peugeot 208 better
Ford probably hired spy-designer who ruin everything...on purpose
exterior taken a massive step back. old exterior with new interior would be the shit
That's exactly what i thought..unfortunately the exterior is awful!
Ugh they didn't need to change the exterior. It doesn't look evil anymore. Now it just has a weird smile.
It's bloody horrible. I've got the current model, but when I need to change I won't be getting this.
Previous fiesta looked really exciting, one of the best looking in its class
this interior with the old exterior would be the shit..
Looks like it lost its edgyness to me. Almost reminds me of a Peugeot 308... Not sure I like it
Ford saves all the edgyness for the… Edge. Sorry.
Oh god.
PvanP the front looks like the old 308 and the back looks like the new one.
The Peugeot 308 looks MILES better than this pal wtf
Design definitely lost it's sportiness but it's definitely an upgrade across the board.
Looks more like an old persons car now. There's hints of hyundai i10.
That's exactly what I thought watching this. They twisted the grille so it lost its Aston Martin gene, the back looks chubbier and it's something about the new headlights that doesn't seem right...
To be fair though, the ST looks alright.
You're right the ST looks good. Just a shame you now have to pay extra for those good looks the old model already had.
It's much more feminine the the old model. I don't think it's good.
im sure it will look fine in a sports trim
it sure as hell looks killer in its wrc form.
still better looking than ugly fabia...
Looks really good inside and out. This time the interior looks like it has been designed by a grown up and thats a very good thing. And less edgy body styling means it will still look nice and modern in five years.
Am i the only one that thinks this looks nice ?
No me as well.
and me!!!
Thomas The Train i prefer this design much more than the previous model
Not at all. I love it.
me, it looks classy
Reminds me of a fiat punto in the front...
There is now more Model X in the front design than Aston Martin
Dmitry L agreed.
Looks amazing, watched the launch event
Like it, can't wait for the fiesta st
I preferred the previous model. This Fiesta looks too cute/ feminine now. There's no way I'd get any spec other than the ST-Line version (for slightly more aggressive looks). Although I must say the interior looks like an irrefutable improvement all round lol.
Wait until an ST is released (not ST-line which is just a bodykit), there is bound to be one in a couple of years.
MrMagnificentMedia it's not cute or feminine looking just more smoothed out and mature than the old one + the titanium is normally offered with St style pack which makes the titanium look like a more upmarket st line .
The 2017 model looks cute/feminine? what about the Mk7? The 2008 - 2011 if i correct..
In case you are wondering that was filmed on Maslenica bridge in Croatia
I am so damn happy that I bought the last generation ST-Line and did not wait to see how the new one looks.
The ST line looks so good.
It's probably one of these cars which grows on people. You hate it a first but begin to like it eventually. I can't wait to see it in person
Interior looks like it has finally had a well needed update - hopefully all fords will be switching to this new interior soon - they all need it.
Much much improvement from the previous model
Matt I need your advice. I'm sick of driving stick and I've saved up about 12k for small auto car. What would you recommend? It doesn't have to be too flashy, just reliable and good on tech.
Cheers !
The best video so far Matt. Thanks a lot. Thumbs up 👍and shared. Looking forward to your full review 😀. Cheers
man... all the new stuff they added is awesome but that outside styling is awful that is such a shame
Looks darn good tbh
very nice update this model will give the Polo a tough fight , because all the positives may remain like the great handiling but the mature approch will give it extras like the improved quality inside , comfort and practicality over its predesser so i think it will be better than the current Polo or Fabia

Really not keen on that smoothed out front end! They got the proportions just right with the current one but it appears all gone now, shame.
This is filmed in Croatia ;-)
It's going to be a huge seller in King's Landing
Not if Khaleesi gets there first :p Do a review of current Ford C-MAX please!
I think that is Pag island.
This reminds me when Ford replaced the sharp looking mk1 Focus with the bland looking mk2 Focus. This new Fiesta lacks the sporty looks of the current Fiesta.
thanks car wow ☺ ,definitely saving my money for the St line model
will it be reliable?
Bigger?! Ford need a Ka replacement to cover the real small-car slot. Something as fun and practical as the original Ka please
They have, its called the ka+. Google it.
admiralpicard2010 The Ka+ is based on the Fiesta platform as opposed to the shared Fiat 500 platform and is therefore not only a taller car but a BIGGER car. That's my entire point. Ford need a small, fun car as stated.

Ponygt 662 Your comment in nonsensical.
Christopher Bell
That depends on the reader who read it

Is it the same as the st ?

Reminds me of my Mk1 Focus, looks nice.

Dan McCarthy but its soft Touch! Come on
has the gear box and cluch problem been locked at or is it still a lemon
As ever Mat, you've beaten Autoexpress to the punch and your video is way more informative! Well done mate.
Personally, I think the new Micra looks much more cohesive inside and out than this New Fiesta. Obviously it won't be as good to drive, but it should be class competitive. Can't wait for your review of the new Micra.
It looks a bit like a MPV
Great cars for the old and new drivers ..
I feel like they've made the Fiesta boring. I just bought the last shape Fiesta and I have no regrets after seeing this, it seems to have more character than this new model.
good looking car better than the old one (which is good looking too )
I really like the front end but the rear is not particularly good looking. Still I'm sure it'll be damn good to drive.
meanwhile this fiesta looks georgeous and neat, but i miss the previous fiesta design which is looks quite masculine for a city car
I love the look of this just as much as the outgoing model. Not sure about the ST version though.. doesn't look that sporty. Would be cool if they did an RS version
to me its a nice car same like previous predessor, the more i spent to look at ,it become more prettier and stylish
really nice car
Volvo v40 front, kia/hyundai rear...
The grille and headlights make it look really wide. It looks very similar to the Focus too.
I hope the indicators are on the outer of the rear light cluster and not the inner, because that really bugs me on the current model
Back looks like it's straight from the b-max
will it be available as 4 door sedan?
Looks like a facelift and that interior will look old within 2yrs...the active model seems a strange choice when other manufacturers tried this cross version of hatches before they never really took off customers like cars that look like 4x4s but aren't
Looks pretty sweet. Especially on the inside!
I wonder if the American Fiesta will have similar features and design.
Is that still the same shell from the current gen? Looks very similar
Can't wait for your actual review on this. :)
Ford is FORD., you can't beat the innovative Ford designs. It is a killer look in small chasis., for car enthusiast.
It looks like a weird happy fish but I prefer this rather than those new Japanese cars that are overstyled into oblivion with lots of creases and gaping grille that will not look good in 3 years, as opposed to the outgoing Fiestas which are still look good today even though it was released back in 2008
Tbh it looks like a fancier Nissan Note
is this for the us too?
The old fiesta looks like a mini aston martin this looks like a hyunday but continues to be the Best small car in the Market for sure
Now the fiesta looks top of the class again the current one is showing it's age now especially on the inside. Ford have definitely been working hard to make look most modern makes the polo and corsa look old.
can't wait for new ST.
anyone knows if there will be an automatic diesel version?
Does any one know if the focus is due an update soon as well?
I am in love with this car (first time ever in love with Ford's..), I wish Ford India launches it here by the end of 2017, or I'll go ahead and buy Hyundai Elite or Swift (2017). Hope Ford discloses it in coming few months as I don't want to regret with my purchase later :D
Fiesta or Ibiza? Any comments? Tks!
AholicX all the way Fiesta. Driven both the Ibiza has cheap interior but more space inside. The Fiesta is not so big inside but more worthy and it Drives better. I compared the st line Fiesta with the Ibiza Fr. Just my honest opinion. I ordered the st line
i have a feeling it will arrive later in the states?
Are they bringing a new ST model out?
thanks God they have updated the interior.
There will always be critics can't please everyone
Not liking the new look (Exterior), but the interior is better.
Has the handbrake hole gone?
Looks yum!!! Hope Ford launches it in India, too, next year! The Indian market has started accepting higher priced hatchbacks in the past couple of years. Just look at the runaway success of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Ford should take a cue from it.
Abhimanyu Kohli 😂
Any news on the ST Mat?
The current fiesta has just had a new facelift
Actually looks really nice.
i wasn't entirely ok with the exterior at first, but a few hours later i just love it.😂
It is like luxurious version of this Ford Figo
Is this recorded on island Pag in Croatia?
looks like a mini cmax
Looks really good
Good video👍🏻
Now that's a good budget car
I like it. Looking forward to the reviews to see if it really does drive better. Thumbs up to ford for keeping driving fun. Australia will be getting the Thai built version so hopefully this doesn't comprise the build quality and engine options again.
Best fiesta yet!

Nice face & interior. Shame about the rear. Maybe worth a poke though.
no titaniumX model available though.
reminds me a bit to the Volvo v40
I feel like Ford took inspiration from Aston Martin, because the face looks a bit like the DB11, slightly...
