But the main reason I use it is because it’s a standalone app and thus I can use it on a laptop without consoling a Premiere license, then import all my cute with the extension. Also renders a pile of clips individually if you need.
Silence is sometimes the most important thing you can include in a video, especially when you're making videos that include natural unscripted conversation. But each to their own.
Agreed! FireCut has lots of flexibility and an Advanced mode for this reason to avoid cutting too much, but to still let you cut the stuff you don't want, e.g. blank spaces between multiple takes, or at the start/end of the raw footage
