@@RussianSevereWeatherVideos Nah but the BFG is a weird acting weapon. You should check decino's videos about weapons and others stuffs about Doom games.
The way Zero Master uses that BFG 9000 is pure poetry in motion. 17:08 he lights up a whole row of imps before they can even see it coming. And 17:50, imagine being down in that pit with a BFG ball coming your way the instant the floor opens.
Hollywood Executives: We wanna make a TV series about Doom II, does anyone got a script for the pilot episode? *Zero Master enters the chat.* Hollywood Executives: Okay... we'll make a short film instead.
I just went from watching your new record on Doom E1 to your “old” record of Doom II NM to this video. There’s a reason we all are in love with Zero Master. A pure gift to the Doom community!
I'm fairly new to following the speedrunning community, but there's one name that always pops up and is synonymous with the best! After seeing a few videos, I can see why that holds true! Incredible!
previous run had some really bad luck and some pretty obvious mistakes. Basically look at map 27 where it was improved by 14 seconds - just because it was more lucky this time. :)
Bad player: Walks into a room, gets killed. Good player: Runs into a room, kills everything. Zero Master: Flies into a room, everything's already dead.
18:05 to 18:13 The precise moment where you shoot to make archvile targeting you again and where you need his burning skill to help you jump the red skull bloc is just insane
GJ as always!! U started to amaze me on a daily bases now, keep it up :P Somehow I have a feeling that U will eventually find the way to cut it down to sub20.
I have a request @Zero Master. Is there any chance that one day we can have a commentary version of you talking about the run and what you like, what you are frustrated with and etc.? Of course, fantastic job.
Man you are a beast at this game in Nightmare difficulty. Isn't this like your seventh NM Speed movie or something. I actually saw this in my recommendations and wondered to myself 'Didn't I watch this three days ago?' And then I clicked on your channel and discovered it was a new WR
Was just watching the previous run without being aware that you had already delivered on your promise of improving it this year. What can I say except... "that was fast"
I remember my first time playing DOOM too...haha jk. Amazing as always. When I watch people who are really good at DOOM do speedruns/challenge runs, I find myself trying to figure out why they are so incredible. The concept of DOOM is really very primitive at its core. Run, shoot, exit. But the movement, finesse, precision, awareness that these runs take is just insanity. I would think that anyone that doesn't know DOOM or has only played it on a casual difficulty would look at this and think that it looks like a jumbled mess of chaos where the player is running around like a chicken with his head cut off. I feel like in order for one to understand and truly appreciate what has gone into completing these runs, one must attempt these difficulties themselves. I challenge anyone who has only played DOOM casually to attempt to finish a level on nightmare. Now most people with any decent skill could probably finish the first map with some practice, but as soon as you get into map 2, your world comes crashing down and you realize how insane this truly is.
I remember when I first played doom back when it first came out. I tried nightmare and couldn't even get pass level 1. When I got to level 2, I was like OMG!!!
The speedrun does not end with the destruction of the Icon of Sin. A second or so can still be saved, if Doom Guy kills himself in the moment of triumph. Now, that is harsh!
Me reading the title: "hahaha no way in that time" Me reading it's Zero: "oh... I guess so!" Insane run btw. I saw some exploits I'd never seen before.
I had to stop watching your eternal speedrun bc I was going cross-eyed from the amount of sensory overload I was experiencing. This wasn’t any easier to watch, but since it’s about 2 hours shorter, I was able to pull through.
Yep, totally nuts. few days and so much progress. Doom god ! :) Talking about Zero Master that "he plays Doom" is like talking about Magnus Carlsen that "he plays chess". ;)
I come to your channel and watch your videos to feel dumb.. I can't help myself but ask how in the hell do you do it. Your recent doom 1 speed run where you went through the wall at the end.. I've played this game on shareware when it first came out and I feel so dumb when I watch your videos thank you so much for the overwhelming display of pure talent
You should see the incredible custom wads the community is still making to this day and the absolute monstrous players and speedrunners that were forged from those! I 100% recommend you check out ZM's Sunder runs. In particular map 18 and map 20! If doom 1 and 2 is all you've seen then you're in for a pretty mindblowing ride :D
In E1M8 when Zero shoots at the Pinkies and runs through the wall he is trying to get enough Pinkies to line up with enough barrels while shooting to cause the game to track too many hit-able targets when firing the pistol, once the game has too many targets to track in a single shot the player's wall collision disappears so he's able to clip through and run straight to the death room at the end of the level. Hope that helps clear the trick up a little for you!
@@arpy4428 o I already knew that and if you look at his older videos he even explains it in the description but he did it in a different area. He used to kill all the pinkies and he would do it in the very next room on the wall on the left. I believe the last stage on the first episode has a problem with the walls because they have to have a special room in the back. You can instantly clip through the wall in the back room that automatically kills you. But I might be wrong on the walls too because he used to cut through the walls on stage 24 the chasm in doom two also it's just the stage that he cuts through you can't cut back into it so he has to hit the exit button through the wall.
@@joshuasharrock466 Ah you're talking about his previous WR video when he runs into the wall between the lanterns. In that instance the geometry of the wall is thin enough and oriented in such a way that if the player is moving at max speed at the wall and "hits" the correct place that the calculation for the player's collision box completely jumps over the line for the wall so it's like the game never registers a wall is there in the first place. Fun fact, that wall skip is the only way to beat that level on when playing NoMo (No monsters). I believe the map 24 trick you are referring to is a classic void glide, you can use an enemy to bump your hitbox outside of a wall or gain enough momentum to skip the collision calculation like the E1M8 trick and get pushed OOB (out of bounds), but because the player's hitbox is still working correctly and making calculations the player will be stuck OOB. When OOB you can only interact with switches if you are able to be perfectly perpendicular to them and no other walls are in the way. If you're interested in how the DOOM engine actually makes it's calculations you should check out "decino" here on RUclips, they have tons of great videos breaking down the DOOM engine logic. EDIT: My bad, I was thinking of another speedrunner "depr4vity" and their wall skip, in Zero's old DOOM 1 runs he uses a Pinky to void glide iirc.
I thought he would eventually break the time from the last video because there was some points where you could see he could shave off a few more seconds.. I just didn't expect to the THIS fast
13:01 that BFG shot that kills the cacodemon 5 seconds later after you go through the teleporter just blew my mind!! :O

I can conclude after watching this run, that i have never once used the BFG correctly 😆😆
