BAF 2025: Dreadbox Artemis Polysynth
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 янв 2025
- at BAF 2025, we spoke with Orfeas from Dreadbox about *Artemis*, their forthcoming six-voice analogue synthesizer. The synth features dual VCOs per voice with full MPE compatibility, demonstrated alongside a ROLI Seabird for enhanced expression. Dreadbox introduced a through-zero FM capability, a first for the brand, allowing for more dynamic bass tones and FM-style sounds. The onboard modulation matrix lets you assign parameters to CCs, aftertouch, and polyaftertouch.
The synth comes with a classic Dreadbox filter, switchable between two and four poles, reminiscent of the Erebus series. Stereo voice panning is enabled through a voice spread function similar to the Murmux.
Effects from Sinevibes offer enhanced modulation, delays, and reverb options within four effect slots, providing greater creative control. Connectivity includes stereo outputs, USB for MIDI, and classic MIDI in/out. Expected availability is end of February to mid-March.

Welp no surprises there, best and most exciting synth from this NAMM/BAF week so far. Absolutely gorgeous.
Agreed
This NAMM has not much at all.
Love Dreadbox sound so much
MPE in an analog poly is reaaally nice touch
Thank you for the excellent video. It looks like one of the only new analog poly synths that was introduced. Looking forward to playing with one in the near future.
Finally a decent sound demo of this thing. Sounds fantastic actually, and I'm listening on a laptop speaker at work at the moment so I'm probably missing a lot. Can't wait for Nick's full review, it sounds like something that is right up his street.
Definitely my favorite Synth of the Show 👌🏻👍🏻
Beautiful sounding synth. Could be very tempted with this!
Orpheus plays a Greek synthesizer named after an ancient moon goddess. Concentrated mystical power. A divine moment. ;-)
Super cool! Nice companion for my Nymphes! It appears to have a lot of character again! Well done, guys! 🔥
sounds great, i do wish companies would just start uploading long playthroughs of all their presets though
after all the work that has gone into it taking 30 minutes to just record the sounds cant be a huge task to help sell the thing
Delighted its got six voices
Easily my favourite new thing from your NAMM BAF tour - look forward to having a play at Superbooth.
Fabulous design. The only thing they should have done different is a dedicated set of sliders for the VCA envelope and I REALLY wish they had done that...
Jesus they know how to make fantastic sounding synths. This might be the one that finally puts a Dreadbox in my studio.
Been waiting for this one for months, nice to finally see more!
Dude! This sounds soooo good!
@oaklandghosts0510 Right? Getting it for sure, almost glad it's been delayed so I can save up a bit longer 😂
@ ya it is priiiiiicey. Not over priced for what it is (imo) just expensive. The main hole in my set up is a polysynth. But I also prob have too many monos… maybe I could sell the taiga and get halfway there. Haha.
Words straight from the mouth of an addict ahah
@ facts💯😂
Gorgeous.
Preordered immediately
Sounds very good
Did I miss where he said the price? Sounds great, BTW.
~£1100
@@joechapman8208 Thanks. Seems reasonable. 🎹👍
How come it's not leaking purple glowing liquid or blue crystals when you play it?
Orfeas! 💕
Can’t waaaaait🎉
I need this one! 🙌🏻
They probably just should've made more Murmux with tzfm. Maybe in a smaller form factor, because $3k in the USA was a little too rich for the Murmux. I was hoping that a similar synth, in a less luxurious livery and without the collector's edition cachet, would be able to bring the price down. But Artemis doesn't have the resonator, so I don't see the point of it, for me. The tzfm would be great with that analog resonator, and a synth with that sound, played well with mpe, would offer a unique experience, as long as you could send data from each mpe axis to multiple destinations with custom ranges, and so that more than 1 axis could point to the same destination (filter cutoff for example). Resonator sounds work especially well with mpe. I think the hollow woodiness of the tzfm plus the bulbous roundness of the resonator would give me bulbous wood. But alas, I won't find out... yet. So, I'll probably pass on Artemis, but I'll keep an eye out for a used Murmux, or for a "best of both" synth, as long as they don't paint it gold and charge a fortune.
They don’t make budget stuff.
The nymphes kinda is, even if the sound is not budget at all
Artemis is a different instrument, closer in design to Typhon. And Murmux... what else sounds remotely like Murmux that doesn't cost a similar amount of money? I don't think it's the chassis that took all the development budget.
Amazing
02:45 Is that DivKid?
Just wow
Still not officially out? So much teasing
Very nice
Can you save settings ?
Filter reminds me of the Modal 008
❤
Price?
1299€
@ alright lil stiff...
Assuming this
Plays nice
With MPE from the Medusa ,
Is there a downside to buying this to play together with Medusa?
OMG ! 😮
Sounds deadly with the reverb.
Price???? Roughly...
@@PiotrstrashcanŚmietnikPiotra $1300 USD
There's just something about the Dreadbox sound...
Price? Would sit beside my Typhon, above the Osmose, nicely.
Roughly £1100, maybe a little less if you get it direct from Dreadbox
@@joechapman8208 thanks
2:44 hello Ben.
The only issue I have with my Murmux Adept is those faders seen there in it… Otherwise I'm a Dreadbox fan boy!
Beautiful synth, just wish it wasn’t $1,400
Yeh price is crazy, so many other options for that.
I have thought that but then.. it’s worth it. Small company, working with another small company (sinevibes), amazing form factor, mpe.. those fx really are the cherry on top.
@@Dudderlyful None with these specs.
If you think this is over priced don’t look at the models from Sequential.
Reasonable price.
Just don’t get it that any of his stuff is just unobtainable most of the time
Sounds good but not really outstanding for me. IO is lean in my opinion. The best part was where Ben walked by.
The digital adds before and after those videos are demolising the analogue synths on display. Especially Soma's Putin singing in the bath preset. Anyway it would be nice to listen to some thru zero fm patches from the synth and more sounds from someone who can basically play. I don't undestand why companies choose to present synths with people who can't play.
great synth but poor performance
Nice!
No Audio in.. what a shame
