- At NAMM 2025, we caught up with Roman from Black Corporation who walked us through their latest innovations. First up was the Monolith*, a signal generator not created by *Black Corporation*, but developed by *Black Corporation team members. Roman explained that the Monolith allows you to generate presets, LFOs, arpeggiators, and MIDI CC. This versatile device outputs via USB host, TRS MIDI, or USB-C to computer, providing an easy way to enhance your hardware synths with additional oscillators, LFOs, and envelopes.
Then we got a look at the *Expander MK2*, which represents Roman's dream multi-effect processor. Featuring classic delay models including the Lexicon PCM42 and a BBD delay, the Expander MK2 incorporates two types of reverbs - including one developed in collaboration with Maris - as well as a spring reverb with digital pre-delay and a Tilt EQ. With a rich array of modulation options, including a ring modulator and OTA-based phasers, the Expander MK2 is a comprehensive solution for integrating multiple effects. It boasts extensive connectivity options and total recall via MIDI CC. The Expander MK2 is set to ship at the end of spring 2025 at a starting price of $5,000, with pre-orders available for this reduced price before an anticipated increase.

This Guy build gears for himself first, you can clearly perceive LOVE and PASSION, this is the kind of company to support
お疲れ様でした! Thanks Roman, for showing MONOLIT
Definitively appreciate the approach, and all the hands on physical controls. Looks like a great pair with a Deckerd's Dream.
Dude is legend. The midi CC gadget is the best idea ever!
Would be nice to actually hear the thing. Looks awesome
Drooling about this thing since 3 years.
This is RAW power ! This dude really like his job 😀👍
Class act to stan for a small shop right at the top of his interview.
Black Corp rocks! I love all their synths.
wow thats amazing
Always thought that Black corp was awesome - their synths sound better (to my ears) than the synths that they’re based on. But after seeing this guy, I like them even more!
Of all their products, this is the one I’d choose- 5k feels reasonable given that their other synths are close in price.
A lot of people don’t know that Roman’s house just burnt down in Altadena.
We go through the hard time nowadays for real. But my man is still keeping a shape, enjoy a new BC product 🙏🏻
But how does it sound!!?
Amazing. Would love to have heard it though.
This is an absolute beast!!
Awesome.
Black Corporation creates some awesome gear. I wish it was a tad cheaper, but, can't have all the good things at once I guess.
Ромчика уважаем, per aspera ad astra бро!
Sweet!!
damn that looks cool
Sad there were no actual demos.
I'm sure it's awesome and I'd love to have one, but this item is listed at 5K.
(Well, an announced 5k -- see @6:47 "..were mostly going to be raising up the price...")
Fortunately, there's a lot of great delays, reverbs & modulators out there, like a used E520 Hyperion or a Eventide Eclipse
that you can find under or around 1K.
nice!!!
OMG… this guy representing a company called “Black Corporation”. This would never fly in the States for good reason.
I can't breathe
Dude, chill.
That’s about 8,000 Dollarydoos …
… Tell ‘im ‘e’s dreeeamin’ …
I still wish they'd continue producing the old expander for people who don't have that much real estate - or cash 🫤
Seriously. They keep putting what everyone wants (ring mod) in form factors they don’t want, can’t afford or simply don’t want to get into…
@@saystheteddThis is a high end effects module competing with something like the Eventide H9000, but more accessible with loads of controls. So it's meant for studios, not the average guy. Same goes for their synths ... people who have 5k for the MK2 models probably don't have limited space (while I bought my Kijimi MK1 used for 2.5k).
