That last train home rendition at the end had me tearing up, beautiful sound from that synth THEN, I STARTED LAUGHING TO MYSELF because i imagined and fully expected Claudio to yell NEXT at the end.
Beautiful rendition of Last Train Home!! What a Beauty of a synth in the hands of one of the best!! Have a blast at NAMM, can’t wait to see your footage!!🙌🏼👏🏻👍🏼
I couldn't pull myself away from this synth when I first saw it at NAMM in 2020. It's so incredibly creative, and the build quality is Rolls Royce level. It's a true instrument!
Beautiful! This sound (and this instrument) combine the warmth of an analog synth with boundless possibilities of digital overtone shaping. Nice playing!
Man. Thanks for that. Last Train Home is such a beautiful piece, and I’ve seen them play it a few times. It stirs my heart to hear this again. Nice work!
Boston Commons Around 1981 The lineup was stellar Chick Rollins Pat There were others, but that night Sunny and Pat/ and the weird looking guy on keys put forth something deeply spiritual. All this, and I was no longer a child.
Oh wooww ! A PMG song from the greatest era of the band. During the 90's, Î’ve spent 9 years travelling the world and the seven seas from the Caribbean to Australia (NYC, South east asia, the pacific...). I would travel with a few tapes and later on with a portable cd player. Among them were the Offramp, Still life talkin, and the First Circles. This very song was the one I was constantly listening to and dreaming while in the plane or in my van while touring Australia for 3 years. Sea of clouds seen from above, the deck of a cargo boat or the dirt of the endless tracks of OZ were the perfect match to this absolutely beautiful piece played on repeat. Memories for life beautifully recreated here Claudio. 🙏
The vast array of sounds this produces is astonishing. Given the prices of vintage polysynths and some new ones, the C14 is surprisingly fairly priced. They say it's supposed to be aimed at performing musicians as opposed to producers but it doesn't seem to make much sense. No one goes to gigs for sound nuances which drown out in a live scenario. Also, the keyboard player uses mostly bread and butter sounds available from any synth. The C15 would make sense if there where 1 of them on stage and the music was created specifically for those.
I remember the video when you met Stephan and first saw the C-15. I knew you liked that a lot! Nice video and looking forward to seeing the NAMM stuff you do next week!
i really like the veeery smooooth way you are playing that wonderful masterpiece "last train" by Lyle Mays (forever unforgotten) and Pat Metheny :-) kind regards and thx for your work and channel and energy :-) Tom
When outstanding artistry meets remarkable piece of toolkit... What about another little musical journey with FM percussive sounds? Like in the improvisation you did during last year's NAMM on Nonlinear Labs booth... Man, I gaped listening to it in a loop 😅. Would love a longer one ;P... Anyway, thanks for enchanting us
Every time I listen to this synth I get this thought: it is a human implementation of synthesys methods that are too complex for humans. It has the intrinsic power to be expressive and flexible. A true masterpiece. I touched it in a fair but it needed more time and attention. As Claudio showed in another video, it is perfectly programmable. I am still dreaming to see a plugin version (it is possible: it has been modeled before building it just by his creator). Claudio, can you ask to your friends...?
C’est un très joli synthétiseur et le son me plait énormément car très ressemblant à celui du CS-80 tout en ajoutant des variantes de timbres, de la richesse en fonction du jeu. Vraiment très très bien !
Very nice sound from a kind of "messy" sound architecture with many feedback loops. You know always how to use a synth made for expressive playing like the C15.
I know you are a very busy man - but it would be great if you could make a short tutorial on how to play Last train on keys. One of your best performances yet....if that's even possible ;-)
You can control/assign EVERY parameter with the 2 ribbons, bender, and 4 pedals as well. Not to mention you can connect it via WiFi to an iPhone, tablet or computer to control it real time as well where you can adjust the parameters touch screen (tablet/phone only). Also everything you do from the time you turn it on is recorded.
@@Mercy_Pants for real time control that is plenty, but in terms of creating/programming sounds thats where physical controls really shine vs a button to select a parameter that you then change. Which is how I'm assuming it works. But I'll look more into it. I does sound fantastic. Constant recording is a great feature - Fantom X had that just over 20 year ago but only a rolling buffer of the last 40 seconds or so. Still great for capturing ideas. Nice to hear it has that properly implemented - everything should.
Every time I start craving for any other digital synth old or new, a voice in my head goes: “No, rather one C-15 than ten other synths”, and it keeps me from having GAS for anything else
Great patch definitely CS-80 and whenever I hear a CS-80 I cant get Vangelis out of my head its like being back in the womb, las train home though what more can you ask for.
Missing a good old mod wheel, a good old pitch bend wheel and one octave. the octave I could do without....but I can't buy anything that doesn't have a basic mod wheel and a basic pitch bend. what were they thinking?
I don't know if it's really the sound. For me it sounds like an FM-Sound I could even program on a DX7. The actual charme is the reverb which you of course could apply to the DX as well.

Pat Metheny Group : "Last Train Home" (1987) • Official Music Video • HQ Audio
Metheny & Mays - what a combo - still gives me chills after decades - timeless stuff.
@@hazybrain7 Beautiful stuff indeed!
@@hazybrain7 Glad I got to see them a few times in concert. If I only had a time machine...
Gorgeous and ch’e merivigliosso!

It's the sound that when you start playing you just don't want to stop playing or even listening to. It's absolutely wonderful.
This is a sound that Vangelis would have loved. :)
Exactly my thoughts.
Beautiful version of "Last Train Home"! Greetings from Argentina, Doctor!

Lyle Mays was truly unique and I count myself fortunate enough to have seen the PMG live. R.I.P. Lyle, your music will live forever.
I saw them live too, seeing Lyle Mays working hard on his broken Kurzweil, Synclavier and Steinway
Sounds so so so incredible. 👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
When listening to demos of this synth I've often thought that would have suited Lyle very well. And you just proved it with that. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Last Train Home is an amazing piece. The brushes of the drums drive that piece like the title says, a train. And that melody is beautifully haunting.

Wow, Dr. M. You certainly have the chops. Beautiful rendition of the Metheny/Mays song.
Amazing sound! Would love you to recreate the whole PMG track.

Hey Dr mix I'll be at NAMM. See u there!
Wonderful tone !
Beautiful playing man. What the world needs now…
I resonate very much with what you've just played. 🤩🎧
Reminds me of the old (late 70s) GDS sound-wise. Which is a very good thing!
Wonderful
Magic!
I feel the slightest vibration and the warm sound of analog too
Really good full sound with character.
A so beatiful sound.
I kind of want one. But I'm still rocking out on my Moog One.
Hi My name is Peter and I love Dr Mix
The Moog is a rather special synth since many great songs used it .
Like the Synclavier
Warmth, and all stand alone.
So good
The sound is in us so let's stay strong...
can we get one hour of you just playing?
you are a great musician

OMG, so good, so good bro. Hope you will be my guest when I rebuild my destroyed house and studio in LA. Thank you for soul remedy.
A beautiful reverb always sounds good. I would like to know how the sound is build.
last train home pmg .... ciao Claudioooo!

Digital FM synth, yeah? Looks nice! 😎
And modeling, and a bunch more :)
Beautiful...
Sounds amazing, but why no knobs or faders? Would be interested to know their rationale for returning to loads of buttons and a single data knob.
That was the first thing that came to mind but I'm sure it's logical to use,not a traditional layout for sure.
You can control/assign EVERY parameter with the 2 ribbons, bender, and 4 pedals as well. @@Mercy_Pantswow that's pretty impressive , every new Synth should have that capability.

Beutiful, very inspirational.
I cant wait to see new kronos in your hands
Wow, from which soundbank is this preset?
🔥
Don't know the song, just as well - b o r i n g [even on a synth].
Unusually so was this video.
Great patch definitely CS-80 and whenever I hear a CS-80 I cant get Vangelis out of my head its like being back in the womb, las train home though what more can you ask for.
Is this an FM synth with analog filters? It sounds so smooth.
Missing a good old mod wheel, a good old pitch bend wheel and one octave. the octave I could do without....but I can't buy anything that doesn't have a basic mod wheel and a basic pitch bend. what were they thinking?
You ! You are special ;))
The sound of Vangelis Spiral or I Hear you now also Vangelis & Jon Anderson🙂
you need to try Vangelis preset from the c15 bank
Could you maybe do a hommage to Vangelis on this synthesizer?
