@jaden almeida Theyre both known for cussing and berating people, but they still have polar opposite styles in my mind so that would deff be interesting to see why they both work in their own ways
Yes that would be interesting it would bee also interesting to have home analyze Marco pierre white who trained Gordon Ramsay. He's a great story teller.
"Izzard is genderfluid and calls herself "somewhat boy-ish and somewhat girl-ish". She uses "transgender" as an umbrella term. Izzard has been out for a long time, I'm just finding out, but she was tolerant when people used he/him pronouns. Now she prefers she/her. "Izzard is genderfluid and calls herself "somewhat boy-ish and somewhat girl-ish". She uses "transgender" as an umbrella term. When asked in 2019 what pronouns she preferred, Izzard said, "either 'he' or 'she'", explaining, "If I am in boy mode, then 'he' or girl mode 'she'". In 2020, she requested she/her pronouns for an appearance on the TV show
I loved when she said in one of her stand-up specials that she identifies as a "male lesbian." That opened me up to my own exploration of gender. She's an excellent comedian for exploring the human condition, I think.
Ol Eddie has been legendary in my eyes for years. I adore him. And David, i absolutely love your shirt. Way to funny... Thanks for posting. You've left me smiling. Take care
Do Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias. He can to really good impressions and sound effects Or Drew Lynch He stutters, he's quick witted he can easily make some joke from a random person in the audience.
Also, their charity work & willingness to push themselves via marathons is just amazing!! Worth supporting them in every way possible. Ultimate inspiration! 💙
I came here with 1 view and 28 likes or so, so seems youtube is being quite a comedian, or maybe I am just early. Either way, cant wait to see some more videos on comedians, as you have said yourself on many occasions that they truly get the opportunity to launch a myriad of skills in their performances, so there is a lot to learn from them. 107 is an insane freaking score, and I can only imagine how many points others might get. Big ups to you David, good to see another video as always.
Hello there. What happens is RUclips “pauses” the views to make sure they are coming from real people as opposed to bots. When the Algorithm is satisfied, the view count eventually catches up to the likes. Then you have Patreon and Membership viewers who sometimes get to see content before the rest of us and whose comments are typically two days older than the upload date of the video. But I digress! 😁 That second half is not related to my original reply, but I just felt like sharing it, anyway. Hope you’re having an awesome day! 💚🤗🤗💚
FINALLY! I've known him through JPU and I loved his work. AAAAAND there is also DAVE CHAPPELLE! Do him next. David, my mentors in public speaking there is you and Dave💪🏽
Eddie Izzard is truly a dream surreal! You're taken in to this wacky world, it spins around your brain and drops you off the fair ground ride with wobbly legs, laughing but still standing.
For the look that makes people laugh after the end of the joke - that builds expectation of a reaction. You had a huge action sequence, saying, presenting the joke and then you end giving the audience place and time to laugh, you direct all the energy you used at them.
This is so good! I think you would love Victor Borge! one of the only Pianist-comedians I have ever seen and would love to see something like that analyzed. Thank you for creating such amazing content
O Mg! I love how you break it down for us so we can notice and see the effects these techniques, gestures, and postures convey. Nice job 👍🏼. Cute t-shirt.
So interesting how from 6:09 until 6:27 David gesticulates only using one of his hands while keeping the other in his pocket. While it signals relaxation and self-confidence, he's still able to make distinct and strong gestures.. I imagine that actually being quite difficult to do!
Hey David! Love the vid, but wasn't sure if you knew Eddie actually came out and stated she prefers female pronouns now, so she/her. It was pretty recent so I figured you probably just didn't know when you recorded the vid. 😊
Ik I'm late to this video but I hope you'll see this comment somehow! I have been watching a lot of Stephen Fry recently in debates and talk shows and think he is an amazing speaker. Everybody including myself, seem captivated when he talks. I would love to see an analysis on his body language as it would be amazing to learn where you think his charisma comes from Ps great vid as always!
What fascinates me so much about stand-up comedy, it may sounds silly, but it's that being there makes it 10 times funnier. There is something magical (or maybe perfectly scientifical that I don't know, ahah) about a crowd making each others laugh by simply laughing themselves. The comedian works hard, but the people works for him/her too. Is it even logical what I'm saying, ahah? I remember I was in a theater, watching a comedian on stage. And I was laughing at every single jokes, almost every single breath of the comedian. When you watch the same show on TV for example, you don't always understand why the public laugh. But it's because you don't have that effect of being around hundred of people laughing with you. It makes the experience unique, memorable, so much better, so I know how you feel to wanting to have an image on the German cowboy in Mexico. Imagine being in the crowd while Eddie is doing it...
Saw Eddie perform live a few years before Covid. Managed to score that moment where he did a joke and I was the only one who laughed from the entire audience. Thought he would do what he sometimes does where he points at the person and says "Good laugh there." Sadly he didn't do that. Still a great evening.
I wonder how can you remember all the 110 public speaking skills, I sometimes forgot that you are a real professional because I tend to to see you as a youtuber😆
I'm sure there are many on the list of stand-up comedians, but check out Kevin Bridges at some point, he is amazing in many aspects of his performance. Body language, pauses and his Scottish accent hammers certain jokes even better!
When it comes to dragging out a joke until it becomes funny again, you should check out Tig Notaro. She has a bit where she pushes a stool around so it squeaks, and keeps doing it for minutes while hardly talking, and somehow it works. I saw her do it live once, and the audience was just destroyed by the end. She's an excellent stand-up.
Love Eddy Izzard!!! Thanks for answering my question about sounds in public speaking. I have another one. I get the pervasive thought that I am speaking quickly when I do public speeches. How do I keep my rate of speech dynamic but also not like i'm auctioneering my phobia to the audience?
I wonder when David has reached that point of popularity where he can title his videos "David JP Philips reacts to..." If you know what I mean ;) Very much looking forward to that, he's deserved tenfold (and more) the attention he's already got! :D
It was not until I left the UK that I gained a respect for quirky UK comedians - Eddie Izzard is one! ... on top of that, he was a voice in "Rex the Runt" (arrdman animaitions)
I agree with pushing of jokes, when he does the moles digging underground for a full minute of silence live on stage, I held my breath expecting people to not laugh but the crowd were in tears. He is amazing.
I know it probably wouldn’t be your most popular video, and especially since you don’t upload very often, (that isn’t a bad thing, some of the best RUclipsrs don’t upload very often since normally they means they are better in quality) but I would like to know what you think of Tom Lehrer!
I would highly recommend Daniel Sloss's comedy routine's, his use of very meaningful messages and the effect those messages have vs how funny he can make the most harsh and deep subjects, I would love to see your opinion on him.
I absolutely love Eddie Izzard! Everytime I think of him, I think "Cake or death?" LOL So funny, but I digress, my absolute favorite American comedian of all time is and shall forever be the late great George Carlin (R.I.P. ol' Georgie boy). Sadly, he is not a family friendly comedian in any sense of the word. It'll be tough, but you might be able to find a snippet here and there. Just a thought. I leave it to you.
Was this filmed prior to her coming out as wanting to be referred to as a woman? (Not trying to be confrontational here, just want proper representation where it's due.) In Dec, she came out in favor of only using she/her pronouns.
Can you do Dave Chappelle please? He just did a 10 minute comedy special that didn't have a single joke in it and I was captivated the entire time and I was left feeling wonderful. Can you break that down so I can do the same when I'm teaching?
Hello, David! I hope to see your reactions to two legendary comedians who unfortunately are no longer with us: George Carlin and Robin Williams. Love you, man! 💚🤗🤗💚
This may seem silly, but I think it would be interesting to see him analyze why Gordon Ramsay is so loved and so entertaining
This would be intresting.
@jaden almeida Theyre both known for cussing and berating people, but they still have polar opposite styles in my mind so that would deff be interesting to see why they both work in their own ways
I’d say because Gordon says how it is and says what we as the observer is thinking and he doesn’t mince words.

Do Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.
He can to really good impressions and sound effects
Or Drew Lynch

Those are two of my favorite comedians next to Russell Peters, Vir Das, Trevor Noah, Mo Amer, and Ahmed Ahmed
Edit: am i addicted to comedy?
And i also forgot about Ismael Loutfi
And have i mentioned hasan minhaj?
Yeeees to both!!! My two favorites
Yes
This is awesome. Was waiting for a long time for you to analyze a comedian.
Thx! Many more coming up 👍👍

Eddie Izzard is one of my favorite comedians, I really liked his "Dressed to Kill" show with the skit "Cake or Death"
Your speaking makes me happy and I can't help it
I wanna congratulate the editor for his joke at 9:41 😂🤣
You probably don’t know but Eddie Izzard now goes (mostly) by she/her, just to let you know:)
Eddie is genderfluid. She prefers she/her, but doesn't mind "he/him". :)
@@NexTakenouchi I read that in an interview in 2020 that they’d like to leave their he/him pronouns behind and just be known as she/her :))
