I raced a Super Mondia as a kid in the 1960s. Then in the late 1980s I had one made to spec for me at the factory in Bern. Both were beautiful bikes and rode like silk.
I like this and appreciate period Steel! You and your viewers might like the near mint Bottecchia masterpiece I just uploaded to my channel. Not many videos of great vintage bikes out there. Yours is one!
You know i promised myself when i retured id do up my 1979 Apollo 4. Early Japanese built bike. Top line Shimano etc. 5 years later its still hanging in the shed. But its still my baby in its grotty state, memories of great trips!
I have a 1983 Guercoritt which has decals of flags on the down tube but your paint job is awesome and puts mine to shame I have super record components but do not have chromed lug work like yours
lah yessam thank you for the kind reply. Do you have any pictures or videos posted of yours? A nice paint job is great yes, but doesn't tell any stories. I believe it's all just about how well the bike fits and an overall appreciation for quality 😊
I still have the bike however I made it into a time trial bike as I bought a newer road bike. I saved the components but somehow they got thrown away accidently. Your components are almost identical to mine (Super Record) I found a site that has almost the same bike as mine. See the link www.steel-vintage.com/guerciotti-super-record-classic-road-bike-1981-detail
lah yessam wow that is a gorgeous bike!! Maybe you'll be able to find another complete group to go on it one day if that's what you want. Maybe you could make a video at some point and post.
Lookoutbelow Could the front cable go underneath the stem? The line of the cable would probably be wrong so brake would not work properly. But is not in use any way. Beautiful bike though, but the frame is I would say real art and should be treated as such. Just the same as some paintings are regarded as master pieces frames of this beauty are in the same vein.
Word to owner............. You do realize the paper piece that is now separated from age is NOT supposed to still be attached to the brake barrel adjuster. You remove that when you mount the brakes..................... At this point simply razor it off.
This one came with the originals as well as upgrades purchased at the same time. The original were 700c red label Fiamme, campy hub, "Robergel Sports" Robergel France spokes, with schwinn tires. The upgrade wheelset, also from early 70s, are Phil Wood Hubs, 27" weinmann rims, schwinn tubs. Thanks for the question and comment!
Top, i love Mondia
Великолепное состояние велосипеда, для такого возраста! Итальянские велосипеды всегда отличались красивым дизайном и элегантностью.

thanks for the reply .. I love to see vintage bikes especially ones that are so well kept
The bike has a lot of braze ons but not the downtube shifters. That was not standard among builders until later.
Magnifique 👍👍👍
Linda perfeita. Também tenho uma

Thats beautiful and 531! I think the chain not of that era...
What a beautiful bime. How can anyone say a black matte carbon bike is better than this? It isnt.
Wow. Mantaaapp !!!
Los cables de freno mal puestos van crusados la bici hermosa

That’s a real picky comment :(
Not sure exactly for this era. Don't see many fancy nice head badges on the bikes anymore. Can't put one on a carbon or aluminum.
Mondia? Sounds Italian. Wonder why they use Reynolds tubing. Very beautiful bike 👍
Mondia is swiss
Very hard to make undertube cables look right with traditional (non aero) brake cables.
I have a 1972. Came with non stock wheels. Wondering what the stock rims are.

lookoutbelow Thank you for the prompt answer! Now I know what to keep an eye out for.
i like to vintage bike, i have 4 vintage bike
😊😊😊😊👌
Glorious but surely they didn't do the cabling like that , looks terrible. Those lugs , chroming and seat tube are sweet as cherry pie an cream 🚲
What's the weight difference from 531 and regular carbon steel
Im not sure but this one is surprisingly light.
Is that the steel version Nuevo Record seat post ?
Nope- just an exceptionally shiny aluminium one.
Хром украшает велосипед.
Had a 68, is that front tire rolled?
Yep
Love my Mondia too. Stunning Craftsmanship. Thanks for sharing ! Google : velogarden
Thanks so much for the comment!
Please replace these hoods
Not the most ideal I agree, but they're original to the bike. I didn't want to change or modify anything as it is in perfect original condition. :+}
This is total bike porn. Cant figure out whats going on with brake cables though, completely wrong routing.
Thanks so much for commenting. I replaced the cables with new but in exactly the same way as it originality was. What do you suggest?
