Save me some of that curry! 😂 Absolutely fantastic mileage, and love all your vids. I always feel hungry watching Kyle eat. He's a natural. Best to you both in 2025, and thanks for helping me in more ways than you could possibly know 😊
I love watching you and your husband riding and bickering back and forth. You two are absolutely adorable. 12K miles and still going. Fabulous cycling couple. Thanks for all the inspiration
Between Amy and myself, we've done 12000 miles this year 😆Thanks for all the rides and positive thinking Amy and Kyle, hope you have a great start to 2025 🥰
The right decision. I won't go out on the bike when the temperature is 5c or lower. Yeah, I know that freezing point is 0c but you'll get areas out of the sun that will still be icy when the forecast temperature is above freezing. Your instinct was correct, Amy. No point risking an injury (or, even worse, a damaged bike). Loads of other days to ride.
Great accomplishments by both of you this past year. And it's good to see you in a good mood w/ _minimal_ tiffs on a cold morning. I'm looking forward to your big announcement for next year.
The Bike and Boot hotel is just up the road from where you stopped and changed your mind about the route. Perfect setup for a coffee and cake stop when you are next in the area. Thanks for the vids this year, Happy New Year to you both
I wish I could find the enthusiasm you both have in abundance to get off your backsides, in all weather and get out there. Respect. I think about getting out there a lot but usually find the excuse to bail out. New years resolution. Cycle or sell. Enough of that. Well done to you both. Your an amazing young couple. Love to watch you on your journey. Its been great to see Kyle transform from a moody husband into a proper cycling beast. Hope there's many more milestones for you both to reach happy new year...
Thank you for sharing your adventures. You have been an unexpected treasure for 2024. And you are getting better at doing these. Great team and it's been interesting to see you each developing and contributing. Given the mileage I would say the eating is pretty minimal. You need a variation on the 'shut up legs' t shirt of Jens Voigt. Health and happiness for you both in 2025. I will be tuning in in 2025. Cheers🎉
Well done Amy 12000 miles great effort 👏🏻👏🏻I also done 12000 but not as hard as you and Kyle have done fantastic year watching you guy’s adventures can’t wait to 2025 to see what exciting things you guys have planned 🚴🚴👍Happy new year to you both I hope you have a wonderful year 🫶🏻🚴🚴👍
Happy New Year to you both! By the way, your taste in music is excellent! Recognize every snippet of song you break into. More Beatles!!! Have a wonderful New Year! From Chris, USA.
Wow and well done both of you! If you find yourself feeling too hot inside best to take a layer off otherwise it can make base layers get wet inside with sweat. But still put the layers on a min or two before going out as you will warm up and ready for your next leg without enough time to build up sweat.
Congrats on 12,000 miles. I’m always impressed at how you all go out no matter the weather. If there’s a water molecule in the air i always stay home and thus at 1200 miles instead of 12000😂
Epic mileage team, well done. Have great 2025. Here's a little hack for you if you suffer like me with cold toes. Wrap tin foil around your toes before you put on your shoes, works a treat. Happy New year.
Happy New Year, Amy and Kyle . You two are hard core, cycling in that cold weather. 12000 miles, that's about 30 miles every day of the year. Well done, hope you have a lovely family New year. Great Kyle supports you really well Amy. Kyle is really great at cycling too. All the best for the new year, Tim Melbourne Australia ❤
Grasshopper is great, Langsett is good too. Pick a nice long day for Langsett and go over to Holmfirth in a big loop with the Strines and back via Holme Moss and Snake pass 😊
I really like watching your videos and the places you go. I do enjoy cycling but not at the level you guys are at, I do a couple of hours a week on local trails on a hard tail MTB, just something I’ve had for a few years now. I am thinking of whether to try a gravel bike and get a but a but more distance in the same amount of time, the last time I tried a road bike( just a cheap one) I could not get on with it and always defaulted back to the MTB. Do you have any advice on starting that route. A couple of other questions, I’d be interested to know what cameras and editing software you use, do you have any recommendation’s for cycling clothing sites that offer good value products. Keep up the good work.
Happy new year to you both 🎉 really enjoy your enthusiastic cycling adventures videos 😁 the cafe without the fire on 😢 big disappointment. If you are in north cumbria on a bike ride , Mae’s cafe in Uldale has a nice log burner 😄 …… it’s all about the cafe 😜😁
Hi Amy, great video as usual, pls don't feel guilty about what yr eating,yr burning a hell of alot of calories while riding. You need to keep up yr energy levels xx
Well done on 12000! I take layers off in the cafe as I usually have a bit of a wet sweaty back, so it dries out in the cafe and I don't go outside in wet kit and freeze.
That reminds me of a scene one lunchtime when I stopped for a break after skiing all morning at Val d'Isere: everyone stripped down to their base layers because it was so sunny and warm, and no wind. There were dozens of people each with a column of steam rising from them in the cold air! It was quite spectacular, I wish I'd taken a picture
Congratulations on 12k miles! Next year you should switch to KM then you will ride even further LOL! PS check out Spatzwear from some great overshoes x
Congratulations on 12k miles - awesome effort! Do you know how much climbing you did in total? Regarding feeling guilty about eating I am sure that if you track the calories you burn whilst riding and then compare it to the calories you take in the only conclusion that you will reach is "I need to eat more cake" as there will be a big deficit. Also if you burn calories on a Monday the deficit is still good on the Tuesday, Wednesday etc. All the best for 2025.
Feet will never be dry because, with SPD's, water can get in below. Get some silver foil and make an insole below the existing insole. Warmer and a bit dryer
Amy! That ride was 2000 calories minimum, maybe 2500. A slice of cake and hot chocolate are maybe 500 max, so you’d have to do that 4 times just to break even! I’m just wondering if it wouldn’t be helpful for you to be more aware of your energy expenditure and need for fuel. BTW, life-long sufferer from depression here, so I understand the voice not going away even when you’re managing pretty well. I wish it weren’t that way for you, but you’re a package and have so much else going for you. Good that you continue to talk about the issue.
Great year Amy and Kyle, looking forward to 2025, not sure about taking layers off, I always take my outer coat off, but I can't eat and drink with my helmet on, but that's me 😅😅
Beautiful scenery, beyond doubt, and great natter! Good decision on avoiding the snow and ice higher up, though you did *a LOT* of climbing, imo. Kyle was quite right about calories burnt, fluid intake, you have no need to be concerned etc. when you were sitting on a bench high above the Monsal Trail. Of course, that makes no difference to what is going through your brain. So, after 100 mile cycle ride, washing bikes, walking the dog, having a bath, making a healthy chicken curry, you have no time for any action tonight with long suffering Kyle because your cod-loins are jiggered? Poor guy! Though he was jiggered, too, I think he said
Detergents contain wetting agents that ruin the surface so wash the jacket in a proper nikwax or similar wash agent that will restore the surface. It will be fine
Not only 12k miles, but how many miles going skyward...?.... I just checked my stats and fell short 4933 miles.... BUT, I did walk 564 miles, can I add those on...?.. well done to you both and thanks for the enjoyable posts following your adventures...HNY...
You're both truly inspirational, and I think it's amazing how you've connected through your shared love of biking. Amy, so many people deal with spots at some point in their lives. Remember, they’re only skin deep, and what really matters is the incredible person you are inside. We all love you for who you are, right down to your heart.
Just focus on both you and Kyle live very active lifestyles. You also eat a healthy balanced diet Amy. There is nothing wrong with a treat every now and then to fuel the ride.
@@amy.cycling.adventures for the most part i did. but there is a section in my ride that is 18 miles going uphill both ways. i have never hit 60 miles in 3 hours because of it. see a ton of wild donkeys along that route though.

Love your vids your so positive 😊 but why r u sitting in the cafe with your helmets on
How long does it take you to ride 200km?
Depends how hilly it is, but we would usually take 8-9hrs
Just focus on both you and Kyle live very active lifestyles. You also eat a healthy balanced diet Amy. There is nothing wrong with a treat every now and then to fuel the ride.
Thank you ☺️
But 12000 miles! Awesome.
How many miles for Kyle?
