Ed Unicycles Australia [Ep. 1] This first cram-packed instalment covers leaving Asia (Singapore), to sleeping in graveyards, to adjusting to the chilly Australian winter and bloody massive yacht hauling road trains! Definitely not one to miss! And the BEST part - this video is totally up to date. This WAS my last 2 weeks and as of uploading this, I’m STILL in Widgiemootha!

Loving that RUclips's algorithm has just decided that everyone needs to see the again after 2 years :D
And how do you know that?
Can't believe 2017 was 2 years ago now nearly 3
@@harrisonstarr7993 first time here; so many gorgeous footage and friendly people ..
Three!
Make that 4
The amount of time he has to take to set up a camera, ride, then retrieve takes it has to be a bit exhausting at times. i'm sure for him it's worth it because it's like a video diary.
Rides through the USA, used the metric system in title. Rides through Australia, used the imperial system.
Gotta confuse the people
Just for the record, whereas Fahrenheit is used solely in the USA, Celsius is used in the rest of the world. Therefore, virtually nobody cares about Fahrenheit.
Wow that plane leaving the airport shot was next level. Had to take another plane just to get the camera back
Unexpected things to find in a cemetery's public toilet: a tent.
Or a unicycle
@@Engineer9736 Still one of the more tame things compared to what you normally get surprised with in those so no one would care.
Hahaa, the dude riding across OZ unsupported a unicycle calls the bloke riding on a normal bike fully supported crazy....... gold!
Fat Guts1971 go push 300 km in a day vs eds 80 km I am gutted @ 130k on a gravel bike.
Fat Guts1971 Great name
@@Finallybianca Yeah but those are just crappy remarketed cyclocross bikes for fad chasers. Get a real touring bike and you'll be fine.
300 km a day is brutal. It would take a strong cyclist 12 hours on the saddle to pull that. Glad he had RV support.
@ 15:39 he has seen the glory that is the Spanngurt 😂
This is incredibly interesting. Reminds me of that bloke who walked across a country in a straight line.
jOwOona Yeah we unite again through the weird youtube algorithm
Oh that guy that walked across Wales?
@@BilboBaggins236 yeah
@James Weatherly yeah that one
Oh shit giowizard that guy was crazy got to love RUclips algorithm sometimes
I really enjoy watching your movies.
You have great storytelling & editing skills.
He's had quite a lot of practice, after two years of this :-) But you're right, it's very good indeed, and must involve a lot of faffing about setting up long shots and going back for the camera and remembering to have it out when things are happening.
hey ed, could you do a run down of your technical/electronic equipment? what phone do you use and how do you use it? what kind of plan do you run for your phone? do you use a gps-device with maps on it for planning your route or your phone? how, where and when do you connect to the Internet? how do you charge your devices?
thanks anyways for the amazing videos of your incredible journey!
you got my mind Question. I need to know how did he doing this.
Damn, you are on youtube for so much time, and only 7k subscribed... I mean alot of youtubers get more, just filming themselves in their bedroom... That's a shame because what you do is so unique, you deserve to be seen by way more people, I hope that time will come soon. Seriously, going alone around the world with only one wheel, that's probably one of the craziest projects Ive ever seen! Lots of cheers from Belgium!
Dr.One this is what i too feel
48000 2019
well in 2 years he has about 7x that :D
so underrated. Maybe it's the algorithm.
It’s probably because he finally did the U.S
This just came up in my feed, and it is a crime that this doesn’t have more views! I love your personality mate, quality human being 🙌🏻
Welcome to Australia Ed, I'll keep an eye out for you when you're passing through Melbourne, I enjoy watching your travel adventures, but I laughed when your complaining about the cold weather July here is the middle of winter :)
...and one bit of advice, never camp underneath gum trees they tend to drop large limbs without warning, enjoy the land of plenty!!
Like the two germans a few month ago said, Spanngurt (bungy cord) is the most important thing to have!
I crossed the Nullarbor a few years ago when I was cycling around Australia...remember it like it was yesterday...on a cool day the max was 43degrees.For those who wonder..Australia is a wonderfull country to cycle...if you can sort out your water problem.People will always ask you...Have you got enough water...then ask about food....keep going mate !!
Not into unicycles or anything but you have massive balls to perform this kind of thing and keep us updated throughout.
Definitely keen to help your cause, mate!
14:19 - I literally have a photo next to me on my desk at the place he describes. I went there as an European and it was mad. We had such strong winds blowing south, never experienced before and it scared us to death as we were camping next to the big cliffs over there.
just wow man! sleeping on the floor in a toilet at a cemetery is just something. you're a great gem on youtube, too bad i missed you when you were in china
There's a lot to know about Australia man. The thing I think is really important for you to know is the drivers are inconsiderate. I'm from Melbourne so just wait til you get into the city ;)
Thanks and you keep me rollin. Even though I don't ride unicycle. I do ride a penny farthing. More than I used to I'm retired now 65 I have the time thank God
glad to see your OK and taking me along another adventurous ride in the outback great views as always and I love your videos their awesome. You should get your own travel TV show going all over the world. Take care man and be safe. David.
YES I second getting a travel TV deal your voice and smile are wonderful
GUYS LETS GET ED TO 1MILLION SUBSCRIBERS, POST THE LINK TO HIS RUclips PAGE ON ALL VIDEOS SIMILAR TO THIS, HE DESERVES THIS, I KNOW IT...YOU KNOW IT, LETS GET ED THERE.
Welcome to Aus Ed. Safe travels and I'll look out for you if you cross Victoria (I drive a truck).
All the best for Australia! Greetings from Kyrgyzstan! :)
Same to you mate, and give my regards to Аяна Касымова, she brought my attention to Kyrgyzstan in the first place. Her voice is like an angel.
I just finished watching Ed unicycles America. I'm looking at Ed and I'm thinking he looks like a baby.
These videos of yours I can only describe as the true definition of life. Seeing the world as it was intended unfiltered with human acts of kindness around every corner. You're a perfect example of how the media negatively portrays the world, but kindness never seems to be to far from just saying hello. Thanks for the inspiration to start my own journey.
Fantastic magic bike
You heard it here guys, Australia is *real* and not *flat*
my whole life has been a lie
Where are the killer spiders, killer snakes, and human eating crocs?
i live in Canada and i got to tell you Ed seeing giant houses being hauled down the highway isn't to strange over here simply because it's sometimes cheaper to take a already built house and haul it a couple hundred klicks then it is to build a new house in some rural area
4:27 Binging with Babish has entered chat 😂
4 years late / but this is amazing content creation. Awesome to watch!
amazing to watch you grow in strength and character over this series. I have travelled and I know in years to come you will remember the places well enough but most of all the faces and the warmth of humanity in all its glorious diversity. People make adventures! still to this day sat on the west cost of scotland I sometime smell the indian oceans currents come across in august and I smell the hussle and bustle of india. smell is the most evocative sense.. stay safe and enjoy!
When people tell me there going to ride 300km a day on a bikr it doesnt rven thrill me but doing a 80-90km day on a unicycle is just the most amazing thing in the world.
Why is this not on Netflix? Great storytelling Ed!
Dude must have found the most interesting podcast in the world to not go insane
it makes me happy that you're so positive. coupled with excellent filming and editing, your channel makes for excellent viewing! well done Ed
Big Ups to the folks who welcomed you into their home!
A fantastic adventure!!!
Ed your Positivity and humour through out your videos is incredible! Very Inspiring, Thanks!
the people you meet along the paths are the best...
It's the beginning of a new adventure. I'm so glad I discovered your channel you're an absolute inspiration.
Ed you are a lot of inspiration for me! Seeing your videos made me want to get my first Uni and learn how to ride it. I just got it 4 days ago and Im getting off the wall now! Love the videos across the world and hope to see more inspiration coming from you.
Good going Ed! Awesome adventures. Thanks for taking us along. Hello from Atlanta. Maybe you'll be coming through here. Excellent airport to fly out from.
It fills me with joy to see you had enjoyed unicycling here in Australia.
You are an inspiration!
3 MONTHS OF ED UNICYCLES AUSTRALIA CONFIRMED?????? YYEEEAAAAA

Adore You The road was closed so us over in Perth had no trucked in food

Ed, just connected to your channel through your GCN interview, just before you finished your epic journey. Glad to have discovered your adventure. Like your content very much! Great editing. Keep on keeping on!
Hi Ed - I have just come across your channel, and my goodness - you are a LEGEND! Really look forward to more videos... all the best (from the UK!!)
"Cockburn Central" sounds like a destination I'd rather not visit/experience lol.
Kamikazekid4 Cockburn isn't what it sounds like opposed to Bangkok in Thailand.
It’s more like co-burn
I live there and I assure u our cocks r only burnt in the fire season
Just use some lubrication and you'll be fine.
What happens after you get a kangaroo footjob.
Wow!!!! Australian people very friendly and awesome... They let the cyclists, complete strangers, stay with them over night... Wow... :) Go Australia !!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
after just finding the channel yesterday and now having watched every video, I am glad I don't ride uni-cycle.
I have noticed one thing that stands out, and that is follower #'s an the amount of promoting being done on the trip for the charity. It would seem to me that having someone at home make phone calls ahead of him, calling local media, making arrangements for him to stop at local schools, cause kids would love this stuff. All this would greatly increase viewership an support so fast.
Also I would have been collecting signatures, names addresses, phone #'s, emails of everyone he meets on his journey, especially those that rode with him, helped in out, anything like that. Cause when this journey is over it will be nice to be able to reach out to some of them again.
I couldn't help but notice that cheeky Roman from that nice old man.
You are doing awesome Ed.
And nice effort on taking videos all by yourself.
This is the first video of yours that has been recommenced to me and I can't wait to watch the rest :)
Inspirational stuff Ed, what an amazing journey.
Anyone coming to Australia and visiting the outback, you must have a fly veil. Very important, they'll drive you insane.
Heyyy, we met today, at the CCN ride! Always glad to see people as positive as you and your friend.
You do great videos! Your channel popped up yesterday and I watched half of them so far. You must be the only guy in the world who's reaction to snow is laughter. Very enjoyably to watch. There is just one thing. Please get rid of those horrible glasses! Make you look 20 years older.
I guess they are chosen from practical considerations not as a fashion statement.
Ed look after your skin once it gets hot if you can -I cycled a lot in Australia and now have a lot of skin damage on my forearms and backs of my hands. A lightweight long sleeve top, or even just some fingerless gloves could make a big difference. Maybe zinc on your cheeks/nose, Aussie cricket style. Good luck with your travels! we can put you up in Christchurch if you tour New Zealand!
Hey Ed! I'm frm Turkey, i don't know better English but you are best bro. You are so brave. Please follow your dreams
wishing the best and safe ride down under. Enjoying your Epic adventures Ed!
Really great videos Ed, keep them up! All the best in your travels :)
Great attitude! Keep up the amazing work and stay warm!

Congrats on traveling around the world on one wheel! You are amazing!
The timelapse was amazing, thanks ed.
Hi Ed! Congrats, you`re doing an incredible "job"! I`m an unicyclist by myself and I was also riding/criscrossing Australia on a Mountainbike with an Bob-Trailer......so I definately know what you are going through! My hat down to the ground and all the very best for you!
Jeez Look at this young fella riding a hoop snake across aussie!
Fantastic, Ed. Love this!
"You'll be right, Ed" :D Loving the vids.
All the best with your adventure and especially be safe on the road Ed :) cheers
You're cycling at the best time of year for that part of the country.
Just found your channel, keep up the good work Ed, great to see a south west chap on a true adventure!

Alba Gü Brath
Looking forward to the journey!!!
Love the videos and stories with people/places!
I take my hat off to you mate. That looks like absolute torture.
The return of the Spangurt!
All the big trucks are semi trailers. Road trains pull up to five trailers.
Great videos! Good luck crossing the Nullarbor. Maybe we will see you in Adelaide! (I am someone who owned a unicycle once but never learnt to ride it)
Loved your video, excellent editing! I had been hoping that we could have given you a bed, shower, feed on the way from Canberra to Sydney (Burradoo) but we are going to be in Patagonia for most of October and I am fearing that we will miss you. Will monitor your progress meanwhile, be careful on the roads! x
Great video again, Ed!
Love your videos Ed, inspiring me to get out riding.
Happy journey world
tour with unicycle 👍👍

Impressive!..a lot of hard work,, hoping for a more fun adventure.. I'm proud to support you...God bless you..
Hey Ed in Australia, what you call bungee cords we call "Occy straps" Great videos mate, really enjoying watching your adventures.
I know that this tour was a long time ago, but it has only recently come up on my RUclips feed. I am hooked, you are a wonderful presenter and video maker. I've noticed a lot of changes to your kit and tech set up through the series. Would you be willing to make a video on the evolution of your kit and tech since you started in the UK?
Incredible adventure you are at dude, little bit crazy i would say :D
You earned a sub !, stay safe .
I remember when Ed started this ride wow now Australia
Man this is awesome! I just cycled across Europe on 2 wheels and that was tough enough never mind the planet on 1 ! Amazing stuff. I will watch till your done! Big kudos. Strava ??
love these videos but who keeps giving him a thumbs down WHY!!!!! Ed's an amazing guy a genuinely nice person
Your 9001 Sub, Thx for sharing your fantastic journey with us!
Hey Ed, greetings from the Netherlands, I'v discovered you some time ago, love your vids. Good luck "down under", and be careful with spiders, they have some very deadly there.
