That JCM2000 sounded absolutely fierce even without The Physician. Dang. Gonna say Westminster Effects nailed it again with this pedal.
Love this company and their work. Also love seeing you use the Iconic.
What did you guys think? Is this the ideal tubescreamer? Or just another clone? Sound off below!

It's tighter than that one time my dad tied my shoe laces when I was four
With the 5150 that pedal sounded great!! It definitely gave the Marshall the good throat punch 🥊 that it needs. 😆 I’d like to hear the pedal with the hot mod on that Marshall . Probably overly belligerent but hey why not 😆. That’s what we are here for.🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@travisschuster4676 you heard it! I had it installed here!
@@belligerentamateur belligerence at its finest 🤘🤘🤘🤘 have a good night Kyle
Different tools for different needs. I use giant strings when I tune down and with hot pickups that can get muddy so the bass cut on a TS9 is great but with other gear it can sound thin.
Yes, I got the impression that the TS9 would be better for recording and maybe the other for live...
This is a $150 overdrive so guys can sound big playing by themselves. That extra low end is doing nothing in a band mix.
Love that sound. Definitely love it.
Slick sounding pedal Kyle. Definitely going to look into it. I also love the dual 2x12 vertical setup. I've been thinking of doing the same thing.
You know what it actually reminds me of? Decades ago, like the 60s and earlier, fender had those PA columns that were used with an amp that was a lot like a Bassman circuit with a different EQ. They were vertical 4x12 and 4x10 cabinets, sometimes they just had Jensen P12s and P10s I think, but other times, there were these speakers with that "whizzer cone" in the middle. For recording though, I love vertical cabinets (with regular modern guitar loudspeakers), even if it's more than 2 speakers. Space efficient and easy to multi-mic.
The marshall with the pedal is by far my favorite standard tuning tone I've heard from you. The Engl cabs just work with everything as well. And that heritage is a magical guitar.
"More is better than not more" Think I just found my new motto
It turned that Marshall into a fn beast!
It would be a nice to see a video about Marshall DSL100HR played through JCM800 1960a cabinet with old G12T-75 speakers. Also that HotMod video would be nice. Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
This sounds so good, it actually does the Physician a disservice by putting it in the same category of a TS9, which I tried very hard to like, and couldn't gel with the Plumes either. This has some added mojo somehow
That sounds like a good option for my Jet City JCA50...my Boss Sd-1 is great but that could retain some thump.
I did not think parallel vertical 2x12s would have such big wiener energy...
That pedal looks wicked!
Edit: DSLs sound so sick. Underrated amps
Everyone shit one those because for a long time, EVERY Guitar Center had a DSL half stack or 3.
Until EVH (Fender) 5150s saturated the market even they had "rareness" on a DSL.
Jeff motherfucking Beck didn't give a shit, though. Never got the memo on how "bad" they were...can you imagine the vintage Marshalls he had played on over decades?
This thing has something cool going on with the clipping stage. Stock TS clipping is ass, this is not only useable it sounds pretty damn good.
Wow sounds much better
Eeerrrr mmeeeeerrrr geeerrrr that sounded so killer! Wow! 🤘🤘
Nice demo ❤
Awesome video really liked that you swapped out for a 7 string also I want to play that overdrive pedal!!!
Oh yes....Love this one.....since I have an orginal Mojodrive from the early 2000's
Def sounds better to me. I dig it. I’ll stop asking one day but please review the joyo Argos overdrive. They’re only like 40/50 bucks. I think you would be surprised at how awesome they are.
Kyle was extra spicy today. Love it.
Definitely smoother and chunkier than the TS9
that Heritage sounds great.
I appreciated when using the ts9 in front of the clean channel the transparency it adds. New toy is a little much. Cool video tho
so like a plumes, but without the clipping switch. the lack of the clean signal leak means they did something clever with the clipping. i feel like symmetrical clipping wouldn't change that. but the top end isn't wide open the way LED clipping does. maybe there's some hard clipping going on in there too? it sounds great, no question. the budding builder in me just wants to know why :D
Is it...the TS9DX?
The Maxon?
Klon Klone?
It's the Wampler "bad monkey" isn't it? 😂
Why The F aren't you plugged into the prestigious Engl 4X12 cab Kyle Dude ?🙄
More is more than not more! 😂
I have the DSL 100 watt with Tommy Folkesson mod (Europe etc) and it is THE best amp I’d ever owned.
Love the DSL
In some ways reminds me of an Earthquaker Plumes. Do you find them to be similar at all?
Not at all. I could never get into the Plumes. Too much boomy bass as roundness unless you backed the volume way off. Wasn't super into the voicing of the clipping modes either. This pedal sounds a lot like a tube screamer, but just "more" and it still tightens the amp a good bit
Would love to hear your thoughts on XTS Precision Multi-Drive...can't stand the traditional TS9 myself.
Does it cost more than a Plumes/Dunes?
Tru out the Orange Two Stroke pedal.🤘
Kyle! any grail amp/cab on your list that you don't have in your collection?
How would this do for a prs-mt15
Ok if your comparing it to the tube screamer does this mean this pedal is a soft clipping pedal?
Nice pedal, but to me personally the tone differences are negligible. Would like the hear the Legendary Tones mod on that JCM 2000!!! \m/
So it’s an SD-1 clone? Jk!
I love that Heritage dude! I even like the headstock.
actually LOL at 7:45
Kartakou Warmer is the best take on the tubescreamer
... and dudes who don't realize they're in their underwear when they edit a video, you're in the right place!
My chigga boo.
just use a screamer with a dry wet control and you’re all set
cool
I have a ts9 and at least on my 6505+ I prefer not to use the ts9 its like it zaps all the balls out of the tone, too thin for me.
Do the hot mod.
Green ain't relaxing anymore only because of Janet.
Janet?
pedal sounds nice. could've done without the close up shots of your fruit basket tho.
I get it, you're not comfortable with yourself. Say no more, fam
@@belligerentamateur 😂
Wow, a fake Les Paul into a fake tube screamer into a fake 5150. What a nice set-up!
Thanks bro!
@@belligerentamateur It was sarcastic. It is not a nice set-up. It is actually a bad set-up. But you usually do have a nice set-up, so you’re forgiven.
@@collinreardon79 it's a super nice setup! Thanks dude!
@@belligerentamateur …
Too much talking not enough playing😂. Sorry I just like the riffs.
