When this song hit the top 10 in the USA, Cliff was in his 4th decade of hit singles. He was considered the UK's answer to Elvis. Legendary career. Devil Woman is another you should check out.
Cliff's portrayal of HeathCliff not only broke box office records in the West End and Broadway, it marked the return of a real true Rock 'n' Roller who has had such an impact on music and general society, especially since his fantastic 'renaissance' with the album 'I'm Nearly Famous' in 1976, but his best album (after 'HeathCliff Live') was the American hit (included 'Give A Little Bit More' and 'In The Night/Everyman which was a hit in Japan) 'I'm No Hero' from 1980. Another 'tongue in cheek' title like 'I'm Nearly Famous' and featuring 10 truly fantastic songs. ('A Little In Love', 'Dreamin', 'Give A Little Bit More', and 'Suddenly' with Olivia Newton John - were all released about the same time and All were Top 10 or Top 20 American hits for Sir Cliff.) Recommended: the DVD version of the 'HeathCliff' Rock Opera musical which ran from October 16th 1996 until very late in the evening of Saturday May 17th 1997! 😀 Thank you both for a really Great review here.(!)🔥
When this song came out, my boyfriend and I were in this state and I played this song and we talked and agreed to separate. Lol hahaha and that was THAT!!!! NO REGRETS.
I was in high school in Chicago when this was played on WLS. My girlfriend broke up with me to date my track and field teammate. I called the radio station to dedicate this song along with the storyline. IT WAS EPIC. People at school who knew me, approached me and patted me on the back
Love Cliff Richard's music on his own & with his backing group The Shadows. His music has spanned about 6 decades. He has had so many hits including "Living Doll", "Travellin' Light", "I Love You", "A Voice in the Wilderness", "Theme for a Dream", "When the Girl in Your Arms Is the Girl in Your Heart", "The Minute You're Gone", "Congratulations", "Devil Woman", "Miss You Nights" etc.
He is Sir Cliff R ichard check out his last UK hit I CANT GIVE YOU MY LOVE written by Barry Gibb he produced it and does back ground vocals and amazing thing is Sir Cliff is over 80 and looks some one in there 50"s.
A nice message but the brilliant 21st Century Christmas (N0.2) and Thank You For A Lifetime (N0.3) were 2 more massive hits in the UK, 2 and 4 years after I Cannot Give You My Love. What Car was also a big hit here and a minor hit in some states of America!
Check out Devil Woman….the song you listened to was not written by him. He is a very nice man a British legend! Everyone always wants him to sing that at concerts. He is also known as Mr Christmas. Sir Cliff Richard is great, he has a huge catalog to pick from. Check out ruclips.net/video/VJ40MoBINyk/видео.html …gave me goose bumps! His voice is magical!
Could be wrong, but I think the implication is they were hot for a while, she met someone she likes better, so she's cooling their relationship down cause she's ready to walk. He knows it , so he's saying "That's cool, do what you want, ain't gonna loose sleep and not gonna cheat. I'm taking the high ground, this break is all on you." I may have been one of these two once or twice in my life. Like your show
I had a friend for over 40 years. I said something that she didn't like so she blocked me from calling her. I didn't say that I never wanted to talk to her again but she decided that she didn't want to talk to me anymore. So, I sent her the video of this song. She didn't respond.
Add me to the list of people that say you should check out Cliff's duet with Olivia Newton John called Suddenly. Beautiful! Also check out Cliff's Devil Woman. One of my favorite radio hits of the 70's. So good!
Cliff Richard was the "Elvis" of Great Brittan! He is the most successful solo artist there with many top hits. But he only had a few hits in the USA. This was one. Devil Woman and Living Doll are two others he hit the charts with here.
It would be interesting to hear "Move It" , Cliff Richard and the Shadows , from 1960. Maybe thats where Billy Idol got his lip curl from :). Or did they both get it from Elvis ?
Speaking as a middle-aged Brit, this is a classic slightly-embarrassing slightly-cheesy "guilty pleasure"...which is true of nearly everything from Cliff's "second golden era". The days when he seemed like the English Elvis were long gone, but with his deceptively flexible voice and songwriters like B A Robertson and Alan Tarney behind him, he was ruling the "light-AOR" game. But whenever this song gets reacted to - I feel obligated to suggest that other "we don't talk anymore" song, the one with the confusing pronunciations...ruclips.net/video/_FS34NK1SiI/видео.html

Still Cliff Richard was in his own right great, known not as the King or British Elvis but the Peter Pan of Pop
The singer is lying to himself and mentally hedging to make himself feel better. When says he ain’t losing sleep, he is just trying to cushion the blow of the break-up. In reality, he is very sad and he is losing sleep.
The best ever singer ❤😮of all time

I had all but forgotten about Devil Women.
Sir Cliff is the only artist ever to have had No.1 hits in the 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s & 00s, a record that is unlikely to ever be broken
But not in the USA !
@@Domsen-e6s irrelevant, he's the only artist anywhere in the world to have had no.1 hits across 6 consecutive decades,
If u wanna be on the top u have to be successful in the USA. Open secret @@markhinton1641
Sir Cliff Richard.
This song takes me back to my young teenage years

I remember when I first heard this song in 1979, everything inside me exploded because it was a damn good song and still is❤
Always loved this song! And not just because that's my husband's first name! LOL!! Thanks folks!!
Dreamin" is a great tune as well if you haven't heard it already..Sir Cliff Richard Rocks..🎵🎶🎸👍😁
You should watch the version where he sings this on the show called Solid Gold. Cliff Richard can dance and move as well as sing.
Check out his duet with Olivia Newton John...Suddenly. It was a big hit for them.
There are many great songs from Cliff. "Carrie" is another one
Carrie is one of my favourite but then i do like story songs
Been going 6 decades so many hits
I just love ❤️ Sir Cliff!! Legend
Great reaction. You should do "Devil Woman" and his duet with Olivia Newton John : "Suddenly" (this is probably my favorite song that he is part of)
Suddenly is that song for me.
Yess Suddenly!!!
I love this artist!
"Wired for Sound"
@eviekelpie1 I prefer the brilliant 'B' side written by Alan Tarney, 'Hold On'. That should have been a N0.1.
Both of you so nice 🎉 keep rocking
Thanks 🙏

Ocean Deep is my favorite song ever!!
I always thought of Cliff as the Shadows' backing vocalist 🙂
The young ones. Did you watch the very funny British comedy?
Also, Summer holiday from his early days with The Shadows
@@Macilmoyle I know what you mean The Shadows are Brilliant! Highly underrated.
Number 1 in the UK in 1979. Can’t believe this is 44 years old!

Try "Suddenly" by Cliff Richard and Olivia Newton-John.

It's "Sir" Cliff Richard (huge act in the UK, 60's pop). He was knighted by the Queen.
Much better song:"A little in Love".
I agree 'A Little In Love' is fantastic. Anything from 'I'm No Hero' album is a gem!
They called this guy the British Elvis
You would like Devil Woman by Cliff Richard. He had a nice string of hits during the late 70’s and early 80’s.
A radio friendly hit played often and a nice though sad little ditty!

If you liked this, checkout "Dreamin" and "A Little in Love" by Cliff Richards. Also Devil Woman was a big 70s hit.
You cannot go wrong with Sir Cliff in the record collection. Trust me.
Seems like the most uplifting Break Up Song Ever!!!😂😂
He was England's Elvis
He still is!
I had a friend for over 40 years. I said something that she didn't like so she blocked me from calling her. I didn't say that I never wanted to talk to her again but she decided that she didn't want to talk to me anymore. So, I sent her the video of this song. She didn't respond.

The best Cliff
IMO Devil Woman is his best song.
1:41 Yaaaaawn..... C-ya!!!
My favorite is, Everytime You Go Away.
@carollittle 1059 Do you mean 'Everytime We Say Goodbye', the song you mention is by Paul Young!
Most women want the men they leave to “pine” after them. Sir Cliff said I’m not doing that
Agree.
with@rickbrand6231 I meant!
Most of these reaction sites react to the same songs, Try "Miss you nights" by the same artist or " living in harmony"
agrahamrogers3345 or ''A Misunderstood Man'' or ''Free My Soul''
Loved your reaction and how sorry you were for the fictional gf! 😂
It would be interesting to hear "Move It" , Cliff Richard and the Shadows , from 1960. Maybe thats where Billy Idol got his lip curl from :). Or did they both get it from Elvis ?
I don’t know about Billy Idol but in interviews Cliff Richard has stated that he was impersonating Elvis Presley when he curled his lips.
You should check out my 2 favourite cliff richard songs some people and saviours day they're bloody brilliant
70s were great.
Sir Cliff Richard, legend!

You realise it wasn't written about anybody in particular and he's been a Bachelor all his life!
Maybe she called him too casual or perhaps she called him the bob ross of music?
