I wish the campaign would have shown more of the way people were living also. Though all the 54 Immortal scenes and the whole level of Vengeance (I think it was called) was actually really cool to see. It displayed how Singapore basically got taken over by anarchy and crime organizations.

Lazer guns signalled the end in AW for me, so if that makes a return, along with super human abilities then we are in for Deja Vu

One of the most haunting teasers that they ever made, I just wish the campaign had more of these emotional moments that really make you question things like, if we were to make cyber soldiers, are they more robot than human? How far will humanity go with technology to the point it will be our downfall? Like Corvus showed, it was meant to be a defense system AI that went crazy and killed hundreds of thousands in some sort of act of selfmade prophecy. Sad the game played the story too safe, could have served as a precedent for how to handle the future and the dangers of progress over tradition and how far we will go

And when the Edward Snowden kind of character asks _"How far will we let this technology go?"_

I'm currently going to school for business and advanced technologies (bimolecular/chemical engineering with a concentration in biotechnology and nanomaterials) and sciences and I can say this trailer is more of a timeline, give or take a few years, than game trailer.
With news of genetically modified babies via crispr and companies like Facebook and neuralink developing brain computer interfaces ( DNI in Bo3), its inevitable that this is the path we're really heading to and the question that are people ready for this?

Daylen Hartz Not true. If you played the game you had the option of going into that room the family was in when you first wake up. You can see the dead husband and wife and blood stained bed. And Dead Island had a lot to do with people dying and savage zombies.

Dead Island did have things to do with zombies but the teaser made it seem like it would be story based. Seeing the tragedy of a vacationing family die in reverse was really powerful. It's just unfortunate that Dead Island didn't really have a memorable plot.
Daylen Hartz What did you think you would play as the dad and mom in the trailer? You literally watch them die so yeah it's not part of the plot whatsoever. Unless you wanted to play as a zombie. And no, Dead Island is story-based with the 4 survivors having to fight through zombies to get to safety. So yes there's action but not mindless at all. Lastly the only thing that is unfortunate is how you didn't appreciate just how memorable the plot was. Some people loved the game and others hated it, it's called having an opinion.
Wesley Wallace Well I'm glad you could enjoy Dead Island when I couldn't. For me the story was too cliché and none of the characters were developed. The only story you knew about each of the main characters is their biographies at the start of the game.

I'm surprised this teaser didn't mention Cordis Die. It's one of the main reasons there was such a push back against advanced technology in BO3. He was also the direct cause of the Winslow Accords.

That's basically the whole premise of the black ops series. Black ops 2 was about the future and dangers of autonomous weapons. Black ops 3 is the dangers of transhumanism. It's quite sad that people overlook these themes and think that it's just another futuristic shooter.

I'm currently going to school for business and advanced technologies (bimolecular/chemical engineering with a concentration in biotechnology and nanomaterials) and sciences and I can say this trailer is more of a timeline, give or take a few years, than game trailer.

2022 and still coming back to this trailer, it really talks to me, seeing the way things are right now.
Two years later and I still think this is one of the best teasers ever. Too bad the game had nothing to do with the teaser whatsoever. Reminds me of the Dead Island teaser; powerful but pointless.

Not true. If you played the game you had the option of going into that room the family was in when you first wake up. You can see the dead husband and wife and blood stained bed.
And Dead Island had a lot to do with people dying and savage zombies.
Wesley Wallace Yes you have the option. It's not actually part of the plot whatsoever. It's just padded to the back of the game in favour of mindless action. Dead Island did have things to do with zombies but the teaser made it seem like it would be story based. Seeing the tragedy of a vacationing family die in reverse was really powerful. It's just unfortunate that Dead Island didn't really have a memorable plot.
Daylen Hartz What did you think you would play as the dad and mom in the trailer? You literally watch them die so yeah it's not part of the plot whatsoever. Unless you wanted to play as a zombie.
And no, Dead Island is story-based with the 4 survivors having to fight through zombies to get to safety. So yes there's action but not mindless at all.
Lastly the only thing that is unfortunate is how you didn't appreciate just how memorable the plot was. Some people loved the game and others hated it, it's called having an opinion.
Wesley Wallace Well I'm glad you could enjoy Dead Island when I couldn't. For me the story was too cliché and none of the characters were developed. The only story you knew about each of the main characters is their biographies at the start of the game.

The emotionally resonant, powerful and personal story presented by the trailer did not at all line up with the action-packed and emotionally deaf end product.

That's basically the whole premise of the black ops series. Black ops 2 was about the future and dangers of autonomous weapons. Black ops 3 is the dangers of transhumanism. It's quite sad that people overlook these themes and think that it's just another futuristic shooter.
