My first experience of the GI Joe comic was the Marvel UK reprints in Action Force, which had about six pages per issue. A holiday special reprinted issue 31 in full, my first full issue ever. I read that comic so many times and it cemented my love for GI Joe.

Wise words in the intro my brother. Spirit is definitely one of my favorite characters and figure in the 80s toyline. Love how he first was Storm Shadows main opponent before that became Snake Eyes.

In the comics, Storm Shadow didn't stay a villain long. It was known his only interest in joining Cobra was to find the Hard Master's killer. But in the cartoon he was a real villain - though a likeable one.
Yes, l prefer Larry Hama's storm shadow story. It is very cool how he (Tommy) was in vietnam with Stalker and Snake Eyes. And how the entire Zartan Hard Master thing unfolded. And how he and Snake Eyes become friends again. I really like that you know about the hard master and the real back story as much as l do. Thank you for commenting. YoJoe!
Well said sir. Very well done. We should always celebrate our victories and honor those who serve. As a kid I grew up without the comics and only new of the sunbow animated series ARAH, and that's why I always see Spirit & Stormshadow as rivals who also respected each other.
