That was very interesting, thank you for sharing🥰. My grandmother was German, my grandfather Turkish. Lunch was always German and supper was always Turkish. My grandma always put out good German bread with lunch💖
that was amazing thank you for this video , I am french and my aunt and uncle had a bakery when I was growing up ,some of my best memories are from visiting the bakery where my uncle baked the bread , later when my cousin (his son) became adult he learned to be a pastry chef , my aunt took care of the customers in the front store and sometimes , when I was a teenager ,I would go spend a few days helping during the summer vacation , we lived in the south of france and it was very much a family business and Oh! the smell!! :) it was like a magical place to me
They look so yummy. I can just imagine how wonderful it smells in there with the fresh bread baking. It's very interesting how they make it. Love how they still use the grindstones. 😊
Every little bit of information (as you so kindly take the time to relay) is very appreciated and confirming! I haven’t baked bread in years but I want to. Every bread I’ve created seems etched in memory and so those details you give us are truly helpful. This is like a small art gallery for bread. Thanks!!
SUCH a neat video! This was really awesome! Thank you for taking the time (and the bakery for allowing you you film and the walk through) to do this! Very interesting!
Many years ago, just a year before the fall of the iron curtain, I entered a small bakery in Bad Hersfeld (West Germany). An unforgettable experience. The employees were wearing a white coat, like pharmacists. The walls were covered with shelf cases, where the countless types of loaves of bread were placed. I love bread, so I felt like in Wonderland.😻
I worked a job for ten years that had me in Germany at least two-three weeks every year. Most of that was in Nuremberg. I to this day miss the bakeries and the wurst vendors in Aldtstadt. Wonderful place.
Hello lady, thanks for your hands on video in real kitchen! It seems the bread in Germany is totally different than our bread in Japan...They seem tastier and healthier... and kind of like our 100% buckwheat noodle.👍
Please make a bread with whole wheat and rye bread my grandma always make that and I don’t have her recipe. It was so delicious! She makes round shape. I love your videos!
One thing that can only be mentioned in a video about a traditional German bakery where they bake their own bread unfortunately and is very hard to describe: the smell. I would advise everyone to visit such a bakery for this experience alone. It will be one of the most pleasant smells one will ever experience in one's life - except for the sourdough section perhaps(not pleasant at all!😂)
Amazing tour at the bakery. I am from Berlin, but haven't been to this bakery. Ich suche noch nach einem Vollkornbrot Rezept. Backst du so etwas selbst?
It's kind of funny. He uses his bare hands (as he should) to make all the different processes of making the bread then goes out to the store front and has to wear gloves, for the customers' "protection" of course! All the bread looks absolutely delicious!
I don't want to decrease the overall admiration for German bakeries, but this bakery shown here is on the top end of a health scale. The average German bakery will sell just as many types of bread, but only about one of the breads would be organic, and one wholemeal. The rest would be baked with non-organic and average ingredients. Also, there aren't many bakeries left in Germany that forego additives. It just takes too much knowledge and time and ethics. Most of the bakeries in Germany use additives and are part of chains by now, sadly enough.
You are right! Most bakeries unfortunately only finish-bake and many breads contain a plethora of additives. That is why I thought this bakery is so special because they bake bread like we do it at home. Thank you for your nice comment 😊 ~ Anja
This was so interesting! Thanks for sharing, and thanks to the baker for being generous with his time.
So glad you enjoyed this! And yes, the baker (actually he is the miller) was so helpful and knowledgable 😊 ~ Anja
That was very interesting, thank you for sharing🥰. My grandmother was German, my grandfather Turkish. Lunch was always German and supper was always Turkish. My grandma always put out good German bread with lunch💖

Lovely ! Which city this amazing bakery is please ?
Am a frequent visitor to the wholehearted Simonswald city .. near Freiburg 😍
It's here: **** The Bakery: ****
Mehlitzstraße 7, 10715 Berlin, Germany

this is how bread should look like,no sponge white crap with loads of sugar..

Love the video. Would like to hear the baker speak in German if possible.
The distilleries are country too.

Mmmm’,'" do I need a Dutch oven to make sourdough bread have a lg pot with a glass lid would the work
Yes, that will work if it‘s oven safe
Where???
You should taste the breads and explain ingredient
And no poison (pesticides) added while milling!
Nope! You know exactly what's in the flour 😊 ~ Anja
9
Looks like 9 loaves!!!
It definitely was a lot of loaves 😊 ~ Anja
What a wonderful and dangerous (to your wallet) place; thank you!
No need to call it an organic bakery with it being in Germany. Its not in the United States where laws allow chemicals to grow food products.
Unfortunately, conventional German bakeries use a lot of chemicals, too 🙁 ~ Anja
