We literally are watching true Hip-Hop's last stand with Battle Rap. These brothers/sisters deserve a lot of credit for putting on, when mostly everyone was dumpin on em, thinking it wouldn't go anywhere. Truthfully, the way most have been handling the disrespect up til now is most likely the best way, and Goodz alluded to it; either making sure ahead of time about specifics, or make sure it's in the contracts. Everybody knows how this thing go. Don't matter who you are, it could happen on any Sunday, so the Brizz situation needs to be treated how Math stay getting treated when he pops off. Really looked like Brizz may have been lined anyway, because no one seemed to be too eager to stop it, even borderline jumping the man. Mook should have just waited, but even the best of us knows that is probably more easier said than done when it's someone's mother involved. Soul is really slick with the entendres too, cause he essentially dodged that question about the melee;-) Fit needs to get more time to build, and wouldn't mind seeing her and Jaz battle. If you’re an artist before you battle, you’ll naturally do better over a beat.
Because you’re comfortable with your own sound and know how to flow, not JUST PUNCH.
I get all the pizazz around punches and all, but for me it’s the whole body of what you’re saying that’s more relevant to me than a giant medley of punchlines if I’m being honest. Some of my favourites in Battle Rap aren’t that punch heavy(with the exception of Rum, Bigg K & old B-Magic), it’s more what they’re saying WITH the bars.
But I daily listen to Aesop Rock, Lupe, Kendrick etc, so I’m accustomed to listening for the double or triple, maybe even quadruple entendres.
So that’s why a lot of “fire bars” in Battle Rap don’t always resonate with me
Cuz to me it’s all just a complex bar to get to a simple point that’s very bland more often than not.

Battle rappers are the best wordsmiths.......for BATTLING. Most areas outside of that they flop(unless they were an artist before battling).
Kendrick is MAINLY storytelling, but that isn’t all there is to Kendrick. That’s a serious understatement of what he does. And a bold faced one too especially thinking Kendrick has 0 wordplay.
And Lupe & Aesop are two of the best wordsmiths in the world, this seems like you really don’t like Aesop or Lupe.
