I agree that there are many characters in Marvel Rivals whose abilities are inspired by Overwatch. However, I believe many of your comparisons between Marvel Rival and Overwatch heroes are off. Luna Snow is more like Ana because both "shoots" projectiles that heal and damage players, depending on the recipient. Yes, music is a theme to her design but she doesn't give people speed and her heals are primarily individual. Only her ult gives AOE heals (akin to Zenyatta). Namor is more akin to Hanzo and Symmetra because he throws spears and has turrets. He is not a one-shot, scoped hero. His spears deal a lot of damage but he's not a sniper in the likes of OW. Peni Parker, other than having a mech, is far from being DVa. Peni Parker's kit is perfect for holding down a point with her webs and mines. Peni is not a flanking, flying tank. If a person wants to play a tank that is reminiscent of DVa, I recommend Captain America. Scarlett Witch is similar Symmetra 2.0, back when her beam auto-locked on characters, but if you never played Sym in 2017, you wouldn't know that. Scarlett Witch is much like Moira; both have the ability to suck life away from players and can fade away when under attack, except Scarlett has nothing to do with healing and she can glide above the fray. Overall, Marvel Rivals offer a fresh take on the hero shooter genre that is sorely needed. All of the characters are OP and each offers a fun, more creative gaming experience than Overwatch.
Idk, I kind of hope they dont make it free to play, but they probably will, because the problem with free to play games like these is that if there is not a good anti hack system like valorant it will become infested with aimbots just like OW in unranked. I wouldnt think its that bad to have a small fee to purchase the game and still have skins to buy to maintain the game, just to keep out the idiots that make 100 accounts either to smurf or to hack.
I really think that the only the rivals devs fuck this up is by doing gacha levels of monetization for the game. If that happens I will probably drop it very fast. Overall the gachaization of western games has been a very troubling trend recently and I know these scummy triple aaa devs are watching the kinda cash eastern companies rake in with their gacha games and salivating at the thought
You say don't charge for heroes, but charge for skins...ok, cool. Then follow by saying you don't buy skins (but you may buy 1 for your main hero)....hold up. They make these games to make money. In their mind, 1 skin purchase ain't gonna cut it. I hope they don't charge for heroes also, but players need to start opening up their wallet. Making games costs big time money just to make it available. Supporting it over time costs a lot more. I think they should have two options: A) charge a set price for the game and automatically receive all heroes when they release. or B) make it free to play but heroes cost money when they release. The mobile games model has really ruined gamers' perception of games purchases. Pay for the games you play. Don't empty your bank account, but entertainment costs money. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe skins alone can provide plenty of revenue. If so, everyone needs to be willing to buy skins or season passes from time to time.
The game will be free to play so either u will have to pay for hero’s which I hope doesn’t happen bc it feels very anti player and more forcing what they want from the audience but I definitely agree with monetised cosmetics, they could do what apex legends has done where the player selects the cosmetics they like and can chose to have them randomised every game, an example being one game is default spider-man the next could be spider-punk, this would help with monetisation more as personally it would make me want to buy more cosmetics bc otherwise I would buy one then later there’s one I like more so my money was a temporary £8 that got replaced by another possible temporary £8
While people are having fun on marvel rivals because the devs are focused on fun, the Concord devs are saying “play our game or you are a bigot”. Not gonna lie I think rivals is gonna get a bigger cash flow and I couldn’t be happier
Literally no one has said “play our game or you are a bigot” you're making someone up in your head to get mad at man. Concord failed because it was a mid game with shitty execs who were chasing a trend. nothing to do with bigotry. The whole "Get mad at games because woke" thing was literally made up by big game companies to distract people from getting mad at actual issues with games like poor creative freedom for devs, overmonitisation, crunch culture and overscaling.
Hopefully the devs dont get greedy, i really want to be still enjoying this game fkr yesrs to come
Honestly, I had so much fun playing the beta that it made me go play OW2, just to immediately be bored and want to play Rivals even more
i get this! i was temtped but never gave into temptation :P burned too hard! .. cant wait to play marvel rivals tho!

all heroes will be free

Can you kill something that’s already dead?
I think this has a real chance to go far is all gonna come down to monetisation like you say

True, i would be happy to pay a box cost rather than non-cosmetics being monetized.
It could be free to play with like a founders pack that contains all heros. So therefore you could 'buy' the game or play for free.
@@vlogsgamesandpranks9007 That’s basically my option A. Just with a different label.

@@jamestheskeleton1306 not gonna lie bro, if they monetize the heroes, i might aswell go back to Overwatch haha

@@mrorange8576 damn have you not seen the angry tweets by the devs themselves?
overwatch 6v6 is way better than rivals its not even close
its a netEase game, all of them are terrible, China always make clone games, this game is very polished because it is already released in China
