This whole video has the same vibe as slowly realizing your ex mistreated you when your new gf actually talks things out the first time you argue, and I can’t stop laughing
couldn't agree more, hope this game continues to grow as new players and players from other games realize how green the grass is. Not only is the game sick as hell, but Dan and the team deserve it for the effort they put in and their philosophy of being for the players. It's rarer than I think people realize.
Nice to have such an avid "patch notes reader" talk about what he thinks and how he feels about the patches, lol. I think the communication is the biggest thing, and it's super cool how they're doing it.
On a related note, Dan typed out a lengthy post explaining, transparently, the reasoning behind the decision to release the game when they did, the issues with the servers and netcode that people experience, the structure of the studio and how it ties into the roadmap and monetization model, and how they're responding to feedback. There's a link to it in with the Etalus patch release notes.
GGST's patch notes have also always had really nice explanation of the dev's intention-- the issue there is that every so often Daisuke's intention is "blocking is boring, everyone can now spend 25% bar to whisper softly in the opponent's ear and make their head explode"
I agree so much ! I think some of the overreact panic patches in Multiversus genuinely killed any excitement I had for that game. People complained about Taz and they absolutely nerfed him to oblivion and early they said something like we know we removed important part of Taz toolkit so we will revisit different ways to buff him later on. And they never did. All they did after that was trash lol I havent played it in very long maybe its better now , but when the official release patch came out and they actually nerfed THE ENTIRE game instead that single handedly disintegrated any remaining interest i had for that game.
Mvs is way better now and s5 in 2 weeks will make it much better but don’t play it now because end of season which means no content also taz is a good character that’s also cool
it is now so obvious they don't actually have a cohesive vision for the game and were just relying on social media managers trawling through twitter and suggesting balance changes depending on which twitter posts were most loudly complaining. So disheartening slowly realising over the last few seasons that they don't ACTUALLY have any sort of 'finished state' in mind for the games combat. It's just going to be season after season of patches that ruin more things than they fix until the game gets shut down
Its such a good game. I truly can't wait for more characters. Its nice that this game is less focused on casual play and more focused on competitive play. I really hope the best for this game and its future. So far they are doing incredibly well and can't wait to see where it is in 2 years.
I think a big part of why it’s so good is not only that the devs care but also that they play as well i think being able to formulate their own opinions about certain things
I respect the transparency of these devs. I just am new to rivals so i want these patches to be way smaller. So for now I’m cool on it for a little bit at least
This is just the way things have been, for the Rivals devs. Even in the beginning of the first game, they have always been watching, researching, waiting, and learning what changes need to be made before they make them, and that's because they genuinely care about the game
among my circle of friends (all reformed ult players including me) the patch notes were immediately a point of frustration. lots of nerfs and a couple of my friends were even saying they were done with this game. fast forward a few months and the patch notes are always welcome and no one quit. the devs are trying to make the game more fun and it really shows.
Considering Genesis is happening soon my guess is they didn’t want to release Etalus in a busted state that would take over the tournament. It’s better to have him be slightly underpowered (the movement changes are weird tbf) and then give him a buff once the event starts next month. That’s in about a week or two, which isn’t bad!
@atalkstoself I hope so, but I worry he's just way more predictable now. He can't get in truly safely, he has to fully commit and always accept the result. I feel like as people learn to play against him, edgeguard, and parry better, he's going to be essentially "knowledge crept" by his super obvious options, and few ways to "fake out" the opponent with movement outside basic wavedashing with ice. I just wanna schmoove. He needs it™
Just bought the game we constantly give her money to crap games that dont listen to th player base so why not give 22$ to them.but game should go free to play its why low player base
Please don’t talk about rival 2 cause you legit say so many shit in multiversus and giving too much credit to developers and now look at the game is legit dead.
@@t00nbink From my understanding, he blames V0id (and presumably other content creators like him) for 'killing the game', by 'talking too much shit' about it.

Yeah the only reason it didn't absolutely blow up it's because it's original IP's, but the quality is top notch

a smash player seeing actual patchnotes from a competitive game instead of the bare minimum that nintendo did
The mvs beta was a lot better than the actual release they went in such a weird direction and felt less polished than the beta
Why do u think that? Also when is the last time u played

i've been loving how they handle the game so far - i hope it continues and the game only becomes more succcessful over time! :)
Yep, they want everyone to kill earlier. Except Etalus because apparently Etalus can't have nice things, like movement.
Considering Genesis is happening soon my guess is they didn’t want to release Etalus in a busted state that would take over the tournament.
