It’s always amusing to me when we bump into people in these resting communities… everyone seems to have a story… both the living and dead. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Aww, Dalen. How sweet to speak with James. You were so kind to let him talk. He sounded like he's lonely but, one thing, he sure was knowledgeable about Al Capone and that time period. It was meant to be that you were to meet him. Gosh, I'd love to sit with him and let him tell me about anything he knows.
Same!
@@chas873 me to 😊
He definitely was lonely. 🥺
Dalen, I'm not sure if you are aware of this interesting tidbit about Al Capone. Every trip he made to Florida had one stop in Georgia both ways; Al Capone would always stop at the Winchester Hotel in Albany. He always took the Honeymoon Suite at the Winchester because it had a turret with a 270-degree birds eye view of Albany. There were also rooftop elements that would allow for easy escape to evade capture or assassination. The Honeymoon Suite is only accessible by a narrow staircase where Capone would station his bodyguards. It might be interesting to investigate that hotel with a spirit box. Just a suggestion.
As a caregiver for 15 years, I am grateful to see you have patience with this older man.
For the most part, seniors are so lonely.
My Dad makes me cry, long story short I moved back in with my parent's after my husband passed away from covid and this is my childhood home also, my Dad's dementia is getting worse 💔 and my Mom's health is declining so I stay home 24/7 with them, too afraid to go anywhere really 😢
@@dawngrimes7361 💖💖
@@dawngrimes7361Make sure that you take care of yourself. I took care of my mum before she passed at age 95.
When it said, "Who's this black guy?" I bust out laughing 😅
I did too! I was rolling!!!🤣🤣🤣
you're so racist
Me too 😂
😅😅 Dalen is so sweet, I love what he does but that's too funny
😂😂 Dalen is so sweet, I love what he does and yes that was funny
Al Capone was nicer than i thought he would be!! Dalen you have a great heart for taking time to chat with that old man,He just needed someone to talk to. Thank you for taking the time with him.
Right? I ran into an old woman at the grocery today. She appeared in need of help. I ended up taking her through the store to get what she needed. She was legally blind.
I say this only because I was wearing a Be Kind t-shirt, & would have been a real a-hole, had I just walked by her.😂 I don’t need the bad Karma!✌🏻💕🙏🏻
I just wrote basically the same thing then I saw your message!! ❤. Yea, he just wanted to chat with someone 🥹
Kinda sad but, I'm glad DALEN was there for him!!
Well, he was stoned. 😂😂 Kidding! 😉
I meant Al, btw. 😂
You people really believe this crap?😂
I was hoping that you would visit the resting area of Emmett Till since you are in Chicago. I bet he would have a lot to say
Yeeeeeessssss!!!! Please do. I’d ❤to hear that. He was silenced in life but perhaps not in death.🤷♀️
GREAT suggestion. I'd also like to hear what WHITNEY HOUSTON HAS TO SAY, especially about HOW she died. RIP TO ALLL THE SPIRITS.🙏❤️🩹💔🙏
Excellent suggestion! I did a school project on him when I was in middle school. What happened to him stayed with me from then to now.
I would love this experience as well ❤️🩹
😮💨😮💨😮💨that’d be a tough one.
It was indeed Bugs Moran who avoided death that day at the St. Valentine's Massacre by arriving late. Seven of his gang members were killed. Moran blamed the shooting on Al Capone, but it was said that Capone was in Florida while the massacre was going down. The execution was carried out by four men, two in police officer uniforms and two plain clothes men. As Moran approached the garage he caught sight of one of the men dressed as police and ducked into a cafe, and that's what saved his life...
Interesting
Just because Capone was in FL; doesnt mean he didnt direct it though.
@@yvonnelopez7399 That's what I think too. I'm sure Capone had corrupt Chicago cops in his pocket, and his presence in Florida makes for a convenient alibi...
@@yvonnelopez7399oddball question. Wasn't he on Florida like in jail at the time or no that was later? I can't remember who but some mob boss was in jail dying from a STD
I seen a account one time where the driver that night Sam Gianciani is the guy who really pushed the massacre on valentines day Sam was a real bad guy he is also the guy who brought the numbers racket to capone by stong arming it away..Sam was also known as the best father one could ever have ...but he was also a blood thirsty killer of killers
Aww, thanks for talking to that man... he sounded lonely but, for you to take the time and allow him to talk with you, that's a huge heart you have Dalen!! ❤
the voice said he’s coming up 28:20. He knew the older gentleman was waiting to speak to you. Thankfully you had the patience to listen to his stories we learned a lot about who’s in the cemetery. prayers for him and his family also. ❤❤❤
James is the kind of gentleman I would take to lunch and just listen to what he knows!
Me too!
Exactly!
Dalen, thank you! That was very cool. My grandfather knew Al. It was amazing when he said Rum because he had a drink with him once...and it was Rum!!! He paid for the drink cheered him because he was a pilot in the Army Aircore. Anyways, nice job Dalen. Love your channel. Love Love Love!
17:20 after he said “Good things for people.” I heard “ yeah, I give back.”
I just wanted to add that he helped my grandparents live in a house in Cicero where my father was born. Al helped give back to the Italian community in Cicero. He loved children. He believed in supporting the family. My message to him: Thank you for helping my grandparents, because you helped my father succeed and now I am grown with two sons and two grandchildren. ❤❤
This was a fascinating shift, Dalen. I didn't know AL had opened kitchens for the poor during the great depression. That kindness may have actually saved some lives. James is a walking encyclopedia of mobster information. Regarding Whitey, he was part of the Irish mob in south Boston, while the Italian mobsters controlled the north side. Whitey was sent to a notorious West Virginia prison, where he met his demise.
You can read all that on line!😂
@@sherryrutledge8792 I'm originally from the Boston area. That's how I know Whitey's history! I know stuff you won't find online. 😝
And--for what it's worth--they captured Whitey in Santa Monica, California, not Malibu (close! But no Havana cigar!).
@@AlexaLake1I like to know more my uncle worked for Al and there are still lots of people that still to this day are amazing people
Dalen ur so chill and sweet to talk to that old dude so openly and respectfully. I just love u. Ur literally the best dude
Wow thank you soooo much!!! 🙌🏿
Why do I get a feeling that Dalen is being seen as an intrepid reporter on the other side and Al Capone just gave the interview of his life…or death as it were.
Hello Fearless Leader and Shifter Family! My husband worked with Al Capone’s daughter, Lucy many years ago. Al was tough, but he was a Godsend to so many people. He was like Robin Hood. It’s crazy to taunt Capone about the missed hit! The diseases caused dementia, effectively brain damaged. His time after jail was spent with his family. He seems to be satisfied with his afterlife. Apparently you’re not supposed to boss people around in the afterlife! 😂 Dalen, your impromptu friend, James, was very knowledgable about the mafia business and members. I think he was lonely too. You are a doll for taking time to talk to him and got some good info too! I bet the guy could write a book about this stuff. ❤ Take care of yourself Dalen. Love and light to the Shifter Family! Brenda❤
during the depression, Al had huge soup kitchens.
My dad was born in 1917 on the south side. He said many people liked him, but you sure didn't want to cross him.
Bless the elderly man's heart, he's been through some hurt, just needed to chat. Thank you Dalen for giving him your time. Love, love, love to you and the graveyard family. ❤❤❤❤
You’re so nice to allow him to keep talking. A lot of people don’t give the older community a chance. There’s a lot to learn from your elders. Blessings to you Dalen ❤
Sending love to my shifter family from Baton Rouge!! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! 💙💙
Aww, much love and prayers to Mr. James. That can't feel good to have to say goodbye to multiple kids in your life. Great session, as always. Thanks Dalen!
James is a shifter in his own way. Everyone who likes cemeteries is okay with him.
So apparently people (real or otherwise lol) in cemeteries are hella friendly lol I visited my brother about an hour after we laid him to rest. I came back when everyone left to have my alone time with him. There was a lady that came over and talked to me & when she found out my brother was laid down an hour earlier she just struck up a convo with me. As she was talking she turned and pointed to a spot where her husband was but there was no one there. She said she was visiting her son. Because she was elderly I assumed her husband was in a grave and she was showing me where so I didn't say anything to alarm her that no one was there but she was like oh wait he left me oh no there he is. He was sitting on a nearby bench. I assumed waiting for her but he never looked at "us" until I waved at him to acknowledge him. When he caught my movement I expected him to be like like my grandpa & tell her come on leave that lady be. He didn't. While the lady was still talking about her son who she was visiting my other brother FaceTimed me because I didn't tell anyone where I was going I just left. He asked who that was talking so I turned my camera around. When I put it back on me he was like Nae go to your truck come here RIGHT NOW!!! I said ok. Told her bye. Waved at her husband & started walking to my truck. I thought nothing of my truck running thinking in my haze I'd forgotten to turn it off (I have a Murano and it is push to start & can be left running & I can lock my doors by pushing the button on the handle while never taking the keys out). When I got in I told my brother I was leaving now see you in a few. He said "There was no lady standing with you but we HEARD her talking clearly! That's why I said leave! She turned your truck on." Til this day I have not been back to visit my brother!!! I was really having a convo with someone that wasn't there. Now I see why her husband looked at me like that!
Wow, that’s incredible. I totally believe you because things like that happen to me. Sadly, her husband was there for both her and their son. If your older brother hadn’t FaceTimed you, you may have never realized she was a spirit. I’ve learned to look for clues, like their clothes being dated, old fashioned speech patterns, do other people react as if they see them too. It reminds me of my grandma. She said always be kind, you might be talking to an angel. Even if you go back to see your brother, she won’t likely appear again because you know she is a spirit now. God bless you, Brenda❤
Wow! That’s an incredible story. Too bad you didn’t get her name or her sons. I believe she was drawn to you by grief. So cool to have experienced that. You gotta go back now. ❤ Let me know if you do. Hugs
It’s a Chicago thing. I lived there for 10 yrs & was so surprised at how people would take the time to speak with each other. I miss it.
That is very cool!
Wow!!! What an amazing story, that’s incredible!!! 😊
So kind of you to listen to James’ story. You never know, you might be the only person to listen to him this day! I’m touched by the whole thing.
That guy sure is knowledgeable about this cemetery! You should’ve gone to John Belushi’s grave and talked to him. I cried so hard when he died. 😢
Yes he will one of these days
You’re working overtime for us shifters Dalen. Thank you
I love that you talked and visited with that older man!! He needed to talk! Love your heart Dalen. Great episode. Love all things Capone since living up there for 8 years. I heard tons of urban legends about him and about his grave! ❤
I agree that was really nice for you to stop and talk to that gentleman. He had a lot to say, and sometimes people can just be lonely. You have a very kind soul.
What an awesome session♥️ that man’s stories about his family made me cry. He really needed someone to talk to. God Bless him. ♥️♥️♥️
Great session, Dalen! I’m glad he’s at peace. As ruthless as he could be it sounds like he also did a lot of good for common folk. Thanks for doing this one.
He said I am how do you feel? Such a gentleman 😊
James was a doll. Thank you for spending a few moments with him. He seemed like a nice man maybe a little lonely. ❤
My Grandfather was a Prison Guard at Alcatraz when AL Capone was there along with the Bird Man.
Did your Grandfather tell any stories about them?
@@nancythane4104 Yup.. all the time.
@@rebeccathomas8561That’s awesome!!
Ohh I bet he had some crazy stories! In my opinion both Capone & the Birdman had to be the most insane & crazy prisoners. They were both treated way differently than all other prisoners. Capone could basically get anything & do anything he wanted and the birdman....the birdman did & said some freakin scary things. Crazy!!
@@sparrowgirl My older brother and 3 of my friends were also all Correctional Officers and worked at California Medical Facility ( CMF) here in my City where Charles Manson was an inmate on their floors.
I think that nice man was lonely, (and an old mobster) LOL Another great job Dalen!
I thought the same thing.
Hahaa.. I thought the same thing as well. Just the way he walked through the cemetery in his track suit. So cute
That was a fantastic shift. And the conversation you had with James was absolutely mesmerizing. Thanks Dalen.
Al Capone used to come to a diner in Freeport, IL and it had a speakeasy in the basement. His brother (who was blind) lived in a mansion also in Freeport. He repaired bicycles for less fortunate children. Al used to visit his brother often and stayed in the house. There are pictures of Al in the front yard with his family. To this day it is still called The Capone House. I lived there most of my life.
Awesome session Dalen!! First I have to say I loved your convo with James.. it made me tear up. Ive seen firsthand the joy it can make to someone who really needs it. It kinda reminded me of the love & respect you show spirits...who most people ignore and brush off. No matter alive or dead all humans deserve the respect of an interaction & conversation. He really needed that human interaction and im sure that short amount of time made his day. The majority of society will act annoyed, & ignore or brush people off..and I was proud that wasn't how you reacted.
Now about Capone!! That was awesome!! Im pretty sure Frank "The Enforcer" Nitti was there as well, since they kept saying Lieutenant. Nitti was the first cousin, bodyguard, & Lieutenant of Al Capone! Either him orJohn Torrio. Torrio grew up with Capone in a New York street gang, and was the Lieutenant for the South Side Chicago kingpin Jim Colosimo. He was the one who asked Capone to come to Chicago and take over as mob boss in Chicago, after the hit on Colosimo went through. Crazy!! I wish I was there...I have so many questions!! Ohh and it was George Clarence "Bugs" Moran who nearly missed being offed at the Saint Valentines day massacre!! Crazy that Capone is still talking about him!!
aww that was really nice. Poor guy seemed loney and needed someone to talk to. Your light really brings people to you, living and dead. I wish this guy well, seems to be going through a lot. Very knowledgeable about the Capones!
Hi Dalen & this shift was amazing &
Al’s still sharp in the afterlife 👍🏼 cheers from Christine in Tasmania ❤😊
The old fella just needed someone to talk with. The Lord takes notice bro. You're a good fella.
Al and James were very talkative, Al was answering you right away! I really enjoyed this graveyard shift/ I really loved James and all of his interesting information on Ghotti.
Al Capone is related to my mommy and she said he was a great guy
😂😂😂😂😂
I was born and raised on the South side of Chicago in The Back of The Yards district. I spent my childhood listening to my old relatives talking about stories of their time working for Al Capone. They always said how he would tip them in $50 bills for everything, even the most menial tasks. He was extremely generous, despite his infamous reputation.
Dalen, that was a great shift. Thanks for your kindness towards James, I'm sure you left a lasting impression on him. Its nice to see kindness in today's world. You have a kind heart. And i was impressed with how clear Al's responses were and he seemed cool to share, and listen. I never knew about his running a soup kitchen, you always hear the bad:( thanks
Love,Love,Love!!!
My grandparents on my father's side lived in poverty until Mr. Capone gave my grandpa a job as a personal driver. My grandma said he was the sweetest to their family.
Hello Dalen! Hello Shifter Family!

Every time someone says"get up" possibly they are standing and looking down at you.

20:11 there a LONG stretch of whistling that isn’t the spirit box and continues off and on throughout. Crazy! It also sounded like Al!
I lived outside of Chicago for 9 years in the 70's. That guy James has such a Chicago accent. You should have given him a business card and set up another visit and had him shift with you. I heard a bit about Al when Friends an I visited Alcatraz in the 90's.
I’ll be honest.. I am not one that’s into the old gangster scene but this was surprisingly enjoyable and enlightening. Even though he did a lot of shady stuff he also did a lot of good things as well. I hope he is at peace. Thank you for another great shift! Also, bless you for listening to the guy at the end there. Seemed like he just needed someone to hear his story. 🙏
Dalen, this was a very good session. I learnt something new about Al Capone, the soup kichen and helping black folks. The gentleman James, is very knowledgeable about the mobsters back then. It was very gracious of you to take the time to talk to him.

Grew up in Chicago - lived near where the St. Valentine’s Day massacre occurred.
Dad always said, "There's only 2 things I HAVE to do - pay taxes and die!" 😂😂😂
This was very good we got the storytellers that was awesome at first the guy he knew so much I thought he was part of the family wow that's great I loved it
Capone case spawned the saying, “follow the money”. BTW I think you did a GREAT job writing the intro!👏🏼
This was epic. A whole Al Capone interview. The guy at the end reminded me of all the residents I work with. You say bye a few times and they keep telling stories lol. Just wanting someone to talk to. You're a wonderful soul.
The 30s were a violent time in Chicago. My grandfather and his twin brother were 7 years old and running the streets when they saw a three car gunfight with tommy guns and gangsters on the runners of fancy cars. When the bullets quit flying, and the gangsters left, they dug the guns out of the dumpster the gangsters had thrown them in. They ran home with the guns to show mom, happy they could eat for a month on the value of just one gun. She grabbed them both by the ears and marched them down to the police station and had them turn the guns over to the police. Then went home and instilled the whipping of god on them about hero worshipping gangsters that made the devils drink. The violence was prolific and on daylight display, right out there on main street. And the anti-alcohol people were just as up in arms.
You made that mans day Dalen! Thank you!
Love the history this man knows, thank you for listening to him.
“Taxes’s and Asses’s”😂😂😂
I would love to hear James' stories. Grew up in the 50's & 60's. Seems like Chicago's government and the Mob had an understanding. It was fascinating as a kid.
Great shift Dalen! Love Love Love!😃👍👍♥️♥️
Bless that man’s ❤️ heart. He just needed someone to just talk to. Dalen, you’re such a good loving man. Your mom and Dad raised a wonderful and caring man. Please don’t change. You are a blessed man. MuchLove to you and your family.
My great-grandpa was close friends with Al Capone. There was a specific restaurant in Chicago that was Al’s favorite spot. He had a special room in the back that no one knew about unless you were in his inner circle and was taken back there by a couple of armed guards. Long story short, my great-grandpa also frequented this restaurant and after frequent run ins, he and Al hit it off one night and they became fast friends. There’s many stories about their friendship, and my great-grandpa spoke of how kind Al was to many people, but, to “be very mindful to not ever cross him because he was as ruthless as the devil.”
Also, for those not familiar with the Chicagoland area, Cicero that James spoke of is a VERY rough place still to this day. You have to be very tough to be hanging out in that area.
Love your sessions Dalen!❤ This session must have been awesome for you eh! You love the gangsters.
Did you hear the word after you asked if he was in hell? He said NO! But then said “RESPECT”!
I also wondered if you heard at least three times the words “get up”, or “get outta here”? I wonder if they were aware of the groups of people who came around. Or wanted you to leave for some reason?
Also in the beginning asking for MaryEllen? I could hear the tone she has in the background throughout but could understand her words. If it was her.
There were four big birds in formation flying over you then back over you about 4 times.
The fellow ‘James’ you talked to knew a lot of history!👍 ‘The Mobster’s Graveyard’ Awesome
@JulesUS8386 Those were Canadian Geese. They are *all over* Chicagoland, and so is their fertilizer!😆

Hope you feel better soon, Patty. Treat yourself gently. I had a cracked molar extracted (couldn't afford to repair it) so I know how annoying mouth pain is.
