Jeremy A At first I hoped I could dry it with towels and a hair dryer, but it was way too much water. So what I did is peel back the carpet as much as I could, use a box cutter or knife to cut out the old foam and take that out. Went to Home Depot and bought some new carpet foam and glue. Used the old carpet pad to measure the relative size to cut out for new carpet pad and then glued the new piece in, and put carpet back. Not too hard at all.
Dude, thank you so much for the helpful video! I totally appreciate the fact that people take time from their busy lives to make something easier for others!
I made it 12 years and now having this problem. Took it to the local dealer they sprayed water on it and could not find the leak. Fast forward another month 2+Inch rain; there's problem. I really get frustrated that Dealerships do not RUclips their customer identified issues. I kind of expect that they have had to see or heard of this on another customers vehicle. I should have RUclipsd it last fall when it first happened. Thank you, Thank You.
Just want to says thanks for this simple repair.. mechanic wanted my first born son and a night with my wife to do this.. it took less time to watch your video than to fix the issue.. thanks again man!!! Props to you!!
Man thank you so much cuz I’m thinking it’s something that’ll fix it’s self this was quick and easy and now I can get my car all dried out and not smellin weird anymore
Thank you for posting this. I'll be doing this very project, hopefully this evening. I've been noticing this for awhile now on my wife's Commander. This morning it was wet again and we had rain all weekend long, so this has to be the issue. Thank you very much and I'll be following up with what I find.
Thank you so much! Our Commander has water standing on the floor after heavy rain. We’ve noticed that the sunroof itself doesn’t close properly either. I’m hoping by cleaning the tubes it will fix the problem.
OMG you are amazing!!! I just experienced this and I am so happy you made this video!! Thank you thank you!! The gal can fix her Jeep. Thx K.P.!! from Oregon!! We had a downpour yesterday and I was wondering why I was hearing water moving when I turned left, well my entire front passenger floorboard was flooded! What tool did you use to lift up the panels on the floor and side panel??
Cherylyn Snyder just used my hand under there, could wear gloves as well. Could get a plastic pry tool, but they come out and go back in pretty easily.
Hi Cherylyn I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹🌹🌹
I have a ‘06 and there is no drain tube and the plug is solid with no hole. Passenger side floor board always get soaked on hard or long rainstorms. I checked the B-pillar as well and no drain tube or plug. ????? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
awesome Video I got a 2006 Paid 39,000 ...what a POS!!! and I think the ignition switches crap out......I only got 50,000 miles the V8 ...4.7! Only ran synthetic oil :)
Mine was doing the same thing. Do exactly what he says PLUS blow your line clean with a deep breath until the line is clear. Definitely cut the black plug like he says as well. Problem solved.
After you fix the leak what is the best way to clean the water from the carpet and foam padding on the floor?

Thank you, very easy fix. It’s now Friday 8-17-18 and sunny in NE Pa so letting floor carpet dry out and should be ok.
Took less then 5 minutes.

Thank you very much helpful!
That plug is made like that on the end. Very poor design.
Thank you
Thanks for the heads up brother!
Could I possibly attack the problem grommet from the underside of the vehicle thus eliminating having to take apart all the interior plastic panels?
Rick Marvil Definitely not.
Thanks!
Life saver thanks
So if my leak literally leaks from the top of the right foot place of the passenger the leak may be from the actual hose on the side of the chasis?
