Buddy Holly is the one they learned how to play and write simple love songs. After that, it was up to them to progress from there, and they did. Love the Rolling Stones cover of Not Fade Away or The Beatles cover of Words Of Love. Buddy Holly's Music Lives On.
Chuck was rock's first storyteller, Little Richard was rock's first diva and his voice inspired countless people, both he and Jerry Lee made the piano a real rock instrument, Elvis is bigger than all of them but Buddy... Buddy was special. His career was very shortlived but his influence was everywhere once the 1960s rolled around. The Beatles loved all those guys, and if it was Elvis that started Lennon & McCartney on their path musically, it was Buddy who showed them how to write great songs. No Buddy, no Beatles and therefore no '60s rock as we know it. I love Buddy. If I ever get married, I want 'True Love Ways' played at my wedding.
As I say " In order to know where you're going, you have to know where you've been..." Thank you for going to this show and posting your recording of this song!
I was only 3 weeks old when Buddy was killed.i was 19 years of age when I bought my first Buddy Holly album and ive loved his music since.Buddy might have passed but his music lives on.
thank you very much ! It's very nice to live in this house of Buddy Holly ! i'ts incredible !!!....Are you wife or daughter of JI Allison ? I's a great pleasure to converse with you. I was 15 old when my music professor give me à LP of the Crickets .( the chearpin crickets ) i remember any seconds of this moment ! Fantastic! ..I'm 64old now..and always fan of Budddy and the Crickets ! ( excuse my English ! )
I live in Lubbock the town where Buddy Holly lived, not his house. Sorry for the mix up. We have a museum here that has a lot of his music and memorabilia. Paul McCartney came to play a concert here to honor Buddy. It was the most fantastic night ever. If you are a Buddy Holly fan you must visit Lubbock.
Visit Lubbock ( Texas ) is an impossible dream.... but i look for any pictures or vidéos about Buddy Holly. I ( on the web )I have many CD and vinyls of my idol.Thank you Grace .
hello Grace . Just one info : i posted a video on utube : i'ts a guitar cover of a french song ( i play guitar ) in the 60 ' sing by a great french singer ( EDDY MITCHELL) it's a tribute for 2 stars of rock n' roll : Buddy Holly ans Eddy Cochran.le name of this video is : ''' j'avais deux amis Eddy Mitchell guitar cover ''' ( by JcP ) thank's for look ans listen this music.
ToneKats Yeah, then picked them up and obviously dropped them again. I discovered Buddy Holley by listening to The Beatles, Stones and Linda Ronstadt playing his music, so I bought a Buddy Holley album and have never stopped listening to him 👌
Mike Dragotta same here Mike. I just never, ever get bored of Buddy Holly and the Crickets! Their music never fades away (sorry for the pun😄)Boy oh boy where those guys talented! Effing scary! Love em👍👌
Who knows if it would have ever been written and if music would be completely different. One of the Beatles said that had buddy lived he would go to be the biggest Star ever then again there was Ritchie valens and the bopper
Dear Jim Cragg. It seems to me that you don't like Paul Mccartney realy much. Can happen ofcourse. But just to call him a nobody hurts a little bit. The Beatle, including Mccarney were fans of, Buddy, Elvis and so on, in those days. And so do i. I love the Beatles also and 100 of other groups and singers. But Mccartney was not exactly stealing his whole musical life. He wrote fantastic songs which had nothing to do with Buddy Holly or his songs. The "nobody" as you call him, sold 100 million singles, 700 million albums and 1 BILLION worldwide records. With that he is the most succesfull songwriter of the pop music. And if he ever had stolen a song , a very famous Dutch songwriter ever said, "better be good stolen then poorly written. If i like Buddy Holly ? ABSOLUTLY.
beautiful thought. I have always thought that Buddy carried the brilliantly lit torch of rock & roll - and then passed it on to others. McCartney is the closest to the "next Buddy Holly" as there is. Wonderful musicians. Great heart and love for people. Treasures both.
He played this at Texas Tech? I used to go visit West Texas in August with my Dad since he was from there and regretted moving from there,. You could smell the towns before you arrived since they were all oil towns. Buddy, he played for the world and made it better place, it would be better if we could get the oil out of our world.
The difference is Jackson just did it to get the income, McCartney did it because Buddy Holly was long gone and McCartney was a huge lifetime fan of Buddy Holly. Obviously Sir Paul wanted to have his investment to do well, but a big part of it was to champion Holly's legacy for new generations of listeners and musicians.. And he has.
they definitely did but like a lot of teens they usually learn a specific song from their favorite artist, not in a linear way by learning the many cords first then songs
I found it kind of interesting that while they were showing slides on the screen in the background, one of the slides was of John Mueller(he's a Buddy Holly impersonator) and not of Buddy Holly. Need to do you homework Paul!!!!!
Buddy Holly is the one they learned how to play and write simple love songs. After that, it was up to them to progress from there, and they did. Love the Rolling Stones cover of Not Fade Away or The Beatles cover of Words Of Love. Buddy Holly's Music Lives On.
IMAGINE The Beatles and Buddy Holly collaborating on songs?! We were robbed of that
Chuck was rock's first storyteller, Little Richard was rock's first diva and his voice inspired countless people, both he and Jerry Lee made the piano a real rock instrument, Elvis is bigger than all of them but Buddy... Never fly with a newbie type certified pilot, go with your instincts!
I love buddy's music he was the best
@@ellonysmanAnd Buddy’s instincts told him to get off of that freezing bus. I honestly don’t blame him for wanting to take a plane.
Just love Buddy Holly...he never wrote s bad song...
Yup
unlike the beatles, they wrote more then a few bad songs for sure!!!!
NONE of this happens without Buddy!!!!!!
I'm so glad that Sir Paul McCartney remembers this humble rock and roll guy.
That was awesome! Thanks to Buddy and Paul!
As I say " In order to know where you're going, you have to know where you've been..." Thank you for going to this show and posting your recording of this song!
Buddy was the best. It's very kind to hear his songs after 60 years. Rock and Roll is here to stay
Says it all! Buddy you and the Crickets are SPECIAL! That good it’s unbelievable at times!👍
Thank god for RUclips.
I was only 3 weeks old when Buddy was killed.i was 19 years of age when I bought my first Buddy Holly album and ive loved his music since.Buddy might have passed but his music lives on.

Grace Allison I had recently visited the site where Biddy's plane went down. Glad I saw it.
On that note, this shows how much Class Sir Paul has.
Yes Paul played wonderfully. He honored Buddy during the concert. It was an amazing night of love and music.
I'm thrilled I got to see him play here in Minnesota.
A legend paying a tribute to a legend.
A Beatle singing a Cricket Song......so cool.
No damn Billy Shears here. This is Paul McCartney paying tribute to Buddy Holly. 1985.

It’s so unimaginable seeing Buddy and John Lennon as old men. We we’re definitely robbed of so many great songs and perhaps collaborations. RIP

To the three people who gave this a thumbs down... sorry the doctor dropped you on the floor during your birth!
ToneKats Yeah, then picked them up and obviously dropped them again. I discovered Buddy Holley by listening to The Beatles, Stones and Linda Ronstadt playing his music, so I bought a Buddy Holley album and have never stopped listening to him 👌
Haha they knnow nothing on real music
Mike Dragotta same here Mike. I just never, ever get bored of Buddy Holly and the Crickets! Their music never fades away (sorry for the pun😄)Boy oh boy where those guys talented! Effing scary! Love em👍👌
Nice to ses you Mrs Grâce "Peggy Sue" Allison
I like to think that had Buddy Holly lived, he would’ve jammed out to “Buddy Holly” with Weezer at some awards show.
Who knows if it would have ever been written and if music would be completely different. One of the Beatles said that had buddy lived he would go to be the biggest Star ever then again there was Ritchie valens and the bopper
So lucky to be their thanks for sharing
Amazing thank you Sr paul
the name of the song is "it´s to easy (to fall in love)".
Sin palabras gran homenaje de Paul a holly los admiro a los dos son parte de la base de historia musical
I love this so much!
Legends never die !
Buddy Holley the idol of the Beatles!!!
1960'ları modern zamanlara taşıyan bir efsane...

Grand hommage à Buddy

henk vos Mr. CRAIG IS PARTIALLY RIGHT . HAVE YOU MET PAUL HES VERY ARROGANT AND NASTY WHEN YOU MEET HIM AS I HAVE.HE TRUELY IS A NOBODY
How great is this
The Beatles were called the Beatles because Buddy Holly's band was called The Crickets.
I just realized that was from the Gary Busey movie ...when the little kids come over to the apartment . Cool
Maybe in the great unknown Buddy transformed his future songs thru the Fab 4.
beautiful thought. I have always thought that Buddy carried the brilliantly lit torch of rock & roll - and then passed it on to others. McCartney is the closest to the "next Buddy Holly" as there is. Wonderful musicians. Great heart and love for people. Treasures both.
when i was a kid we had to get history at a library and order a record by mail
greater sing greater!
Paul. I love B7. GOT IT !!!!
Fuck me, I didn't know this was a Holly song ! Greatness.....
He played this at Texas Tech? I used to go visit West Texas in August with my Dad since he was from there and regretted moving from there,. You could smell the towns before you arrived since they were all oil towns. Buddy, he played for the world and made it better place, it would be better if we could get the oil out of our world.
Picture at 3:34 looks more like John Mueller
Good eye... That is John Mueller! I wonder why Sir Paul didn't catch this 🤔
Would there have even been the Beatles if there wasn’t a Buddy Holly
Buddy Holly also member
I think Paul would rather at time like to have John and George on backing vocals with him and Ringos drumming keeping them in time.
PAUL BOUGHT ALL THE RIGHTS TO ALL.OF BUDDYS SONGS MUCH LIKE MICHAEL JACKSON BOUGHT THE BEATLES SONGS.
And he has.
I don’t understand. Didn’t they have music books for guitar in the 1950’s?
they definitely did but like a lot of teens they usually learn a specific song from their favorite artist, not in a linear way by learning the many cords first then songs
Nossa, mano...
who is jim cragg lol
I have no idea who Jim Cragg is
I found it kind of interesting that while they were showing slides on the screen in the background, one of the slides was of John Mueller(he's a Buddy Holly impersonator) and not of Buddy Holly. Need to do you homework Paul!!!!!
Anyone could've put those slides together who was part of the whole show
あ〜ボールよ!愛する友よ
If holly lived , the beatles was the beatles ?
wtf?beatles get a good guy to copy from such as buddy holly, then they write so many bad songs!!wtf!!
