      What you need to remember is that she doesn't go and devour every piece of McCartney trivia like we do. She has actual memories rather than sound bytes. So she got the albums wrong. But she remembers her mom and dad making an album. She knows the Beatles did "All you need is love" but she's probably never watched the performance on on You Tube with four grown men singing in a room full of people. I think it's a tribute to the way they raised her that she is absolutely clueless about the things we all know about his famous side. I love it.

    Mabe, I'm Amazed....after watching the newly released documentary, Get Back, Nov. 25, 2021 and then stumbling onto this and many other Beatles' interviews. Paul McCartney is a true , articulate gentleman. His family is so well grounded, and that must bring him great pleasure. At 70, and having purchased Remastered and Reissued releases : The White Album, Abbey Road, and now Let It Be ( box sets with books, etc.) , it reinforces and reinstills the greatness of The Beatles. Each of the Fab 4 had their own personalities, and the people of my generation watched Them Grow Up. I have just watched Eight Day A Week - The Touring Years movie. It serves to remind us of what BEATLEMANIA was a d how it affected them individually. It takes you to 1966, where after an awful concert tour in that year, culminating at a "crazy" concert in San Fransisco, made them all simultaneousy agree to not do concerts a y longer. They stayed a Studio Band, making some of the Best Music of the Ages.

    Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but since I more or less only see Brexit supporters here, I would like to express a different view on all of this. People are saying Paul McCartney isn't entitled to talk about working class life in Britain, which very well may be true, but there's no denying that Brexit is a mess. And I do not find that surprising, from the start nobody really understood what Brexit was and I cannot understand how someone could vote for something they don't fully understand. Now you could say that Brexit is easy to understand:"It's simply cutting our ties to the EU." But it's not that simple, is it? People saying that Brexit is good for the working class is surprising to me, since there are working class people losing their jobs, because of Brexit. Britain also didn't have it too bad with the EU, despite what some may say, because last time I checked, the pound sterling is still being used in Britain and not the euro. Now I absolutely understand frustrations with the EU, but Britain absolutely wasn't being "dictated" or something like that, the EU and the UK supported each other and were somewhat "connected", now they may not have done everything perfectly, but not everything in a relationship is perfect, you get the benefits, but you also must take the responsibilities. Brexit complicates so many things. It, for example, complicates traveling in out and out of the UK and if Britain were to have a conflict with another country, it won't be a an issue for the European Union, but merely an issue for the small island that is Britain. I also think Paul McCartney made a good point by saying that a lot of people are talking about how it's going to be like the "old times", because I much like McCartney do not look at the past in awe. There's no progress in going back. I understand if people have their frustrations, but I'm not too sure about Britain being so independent, I don't even like calling it independent, that just sounds too glamorous to me, isolation sounds more appropriate to me. And is isolation truly the answer? Because I don't know about you, but I get by with a little help from my friends.

      I really am fed-up with hearing the 'remoaner' argument, because it's an argument that could be applied to any political matter. I would rather live in a democracy than live in a non-democratic dictatorship; despite how marvellous some might think this to be.

    • @ChrisLeoThomas
      @ChrisLeoThomas 5 лет назад +2

      Iazzaboyce I can't recall saying anything against democracy. Brexit was voted and I respect that, then so be it. But that doesn't make me personally a fan of it. I believe that if people would've known the mess that Brexit would make, they perhaps would've thought twice and not just that, I also believe more people should've voted. But it is what it is, it just frustrates me how as soon as someone says something that isn't pro-Brexit, they get a load of grief. Brexit is problematic, let people speak that truth.

      Iazzaboyce I agree that it's the people in power that caused the mess, but I wouldn't say that it's because they don't respect the vote. It's difficult for Britain to cut ties with the EU, because they both somewhat rely on each other. That's why it's all so messy.

He certainly supported the regeneration of Northern industry. having been born in Stoke but I would expect that he probably never bothered to vote, or if he did he'd be aligned with Labour. Also, despite collecting Nazi memorabilia, he liked it for the aesthetic. He was against nationalism and racism. Go read his biography or listen to his interviews.

    Linda McCartney was one of the greatest photographers of the Rock 'N' Roll Era. While there were dozens of pioneering female photographers who worked before she was active, Linda did get a lot of outstanding pictures from many of the major bands and music artists of the 1960's, and also some from the 1970's and 1980's. Despite what some may believe, her photographs are not all just Beatles or McCartney-related images.
    Secondly, John Lennon mostly wrote "All You Need Is Love." It was especially written for The Beatles appearance as the official UK representatives for the 1967 "Our World" TV Special. "Our World" was the first worldwide satellite TV broadcast, and each major country on the planet, and some small countries as well, were each allowed one music act or speaker for the show. Paul had recently turned 25 when the show aired.
    Finally, I'm an American, so perhaps it's not my place to voice an opinion on Brexit. All I wish to point out is that Ringo Starr lives in Los Angeles most of the year, so while, as an English citizen, he of course has an opinion on Brexit, the actual outcome of the matter is not something he will feel every day, or even that often. Paul McCartney spends months in New York and Los Angeles each year, but primarily lives in England. His children and grandchildren, with the exception of his eldest daughter Heather, all live in England. His family will be affected much more by how it is all decided.

He was the one who looked the most like Paul. He had a small face, round head, highly swooped eyebrows and a small thin nose. And then there was William, whom as you know has green eyes, long thin nose, elongated face and dangling chin - and least but not last there was Pete Santora. In early 1979, as part of industrial action across public services, grave diggers at two cemeteries (one in Liverpool and one in London) took unofficial strike action. Linda had it right. She was, is, a pure soul, and it's sad she left so early. In her honor, I want to give out a link to an article that advocates the use of plant-based fertilizers over animal fertilizers, and how it relates to veganism, generally. It's a lengthy article that is the most incredible one I've ever come across. It talks about how animal fertilizers from factory farms pollute the ground and water, ruining the soil for farming, hurts the ecology, and how bad pathogens from the fertilizer ends up in the crops. Even organic farms use it sometimes, and it's still called organic food. Organic grass is healthier for the soil, and the crops. And how it takes 4 times as much land to produce the same amount of animal fertilizer that growing hay would. And how even in small organic dairies, the animals live short lives, and then have unnatural ends. And the cruelty in the factory farm dairies. Vegan diets are healthier, also, because meats are bad news, plus the fats cause heart issues, etc. You can get healthy fats, especially unsaturated fats, and proteins, from non-meat and dairy. And sprouted grains for reduced lectins. That's just a basic overview. Google 'Is it time for a plant-based agriculture?', by the North America Vegetarian Society.

I suppose you can argue, if you wish, that they were putting words in his mouth, but that would be silly because that's why they only quoted "probably a mistake". I suppose you can argue that they were changing his meaning, but that would also be silly because he is talking about Brexit. Of course since that word wasn't exactly used by him or the questioner, I suppose you can argue that he's talking something else, but he refers to the "referendum" and how many have there been since the Brexit referendum?
