Was a brilliant day with the guy's From OG
It was the 1st time the Is300 was out after building it so made the perfect test day for us at SRD to run it.
7hrs drive, run it up and down the runway had a blast and car was mint.
Very proud of building the Is 300 and to run it up next to a 720s £300k car vs the Is300 and lose by 2 car lengths ill take that.
We will continue to develop to box and software as its the only Direct control gearbox with the AA80e on syvecs in the world 👍
More to come in the future from it.
Legendary build to keep up with a 720s people who actually know how fast the Macs are will be impressed with the roll races 🏁🙌🏽 very impressive shake down.. big things coming 💯
Off the line though that IS gets spanked.... prob a Golf 7R with bolt on will give it a hiding as well...
So updates for the Is 300 are already on the cards.
New 3.2 supra diff already built and ready to go in.

The car was built for taking the family out and running around.
Needed to be Quiet look under stated and Comfortable then if you come across something spicy would hold its own and it does alright.
5.4 seconds 100/200 not to shabby
And looking back through the leaderboard for 100/200 it Pretty good,
R32 wagon check, RS6 check, Supra check, R34 check.
On a roll its definitely got some punch.
From a Dig needs massive amounts of work.
Being a full auto box even brake boosting doesn't work as the torque Converter holds the engine back to 1500rpm.
With a custom Launch control Strategy we should be able to massively improve the standing starts. 👌
Shake down done and were be back for more...
Hopefully on a colder day as looking at the ECU logs we was about 700hp 1.7bar and it has got more when pushing it to 2.1bar with decent intake temps.

Lexus is very impressive. Needs to not hit the limiter in every gear, lost a good bit of time there!
Hi all its not the Limiter its the shift cut between the gear change to manage the Torque between shifts.
This is what we were trying to improve on during the day while testing. 👍
Have to remember this isn't a DCT box. its a automatic gearbox with torque Converter so totally different in design.
Admittedly needed some more seat time with it but for its 1st proper outing not to bad results.

Both cars are amazing in their different ways. The Mc Laren 720s is so fast from factory.
The Lexus IS300 is an amazing sleeper car. Again a very awesome and interesting drag race. Thank you Jamie and everyone for making this drag race possible :)
Great race. Nice seeing an is300 on here. Impressive what SRD Tuning has done with the IS-F transmission. I’ve heard lots of good things about them from the 2JZ community. I might just consider taking my Aristo to them when the time comes to build my transmission, since I want to keep it auto.

As incredible as the Lexus is, at the end of the day the McLaren has the natural aerodynamics from its body shape which helped edge the car over the Lexus.

With the aerodynamics of a brick that Lexus did well to keep up with a rolling start. It had no chance off the line from a standing start.
No offence but the Lexus needed a better driver. Not saying it would of won but it could of done slightly better. Respect to both drivers!

Mclaren 720S is no joke! I was really hoping the Lexus would win just because it is seen as an underdog in a race like this. It definitely put up one hell of a fight for what it is and what it was up against! Keep up the great work! Much love from South Africa!😁

These were pretty much the expected results. I did expect the IS to keep up more on the roll though. I’m disappointed that we didn’t get to see a good, high rpm 2j launch, but I get the project car problems all too well. I’d still personally buy the Lexus over the Mac. Not that I don’t like the 720. Just not in my budget 😂😂. If I were given one, I’d sell it and build a monster swapped is300 or is350.

Ive never heard a 2jz sound like that, kinda sounds like an NA v6 from the inside and outside when its on song, probs just lack of turbo induction noise/screamer which is odd for a 2j. I kinda like it though!!

Been waiting to see this box used in something - good roll racing box but with that stupid tight stock converter suited to the V8, it’ll never launch. DCT conversion would shift faster, launch at any rpm, and require 1/10th of the effort to get working and functional. Also readily available off the shelf bellhousings.
Sometimes just because things are difficult and new, doesn’t mean they’re a great idea. Solid 100-200 for a 550-600rwhp car though, tight converter and close ratios keeps that JZ up there!
It was kind of expected really as thats what the mclaren is designed for, but you cant help but watch in hope that the underdog wins but still a very impressive build with that lexus though

You’re forgetting about the 765lt. These are stomping the 720s which isn’t surprising though. Also a lot more money. But in general, they look much better than the 720, launch harder and are a bit lighter.

I am not a supercar fan but this was always gonna end one way. It's a freaking Mclaren dude. Doesn't matter if you like it or not, there was never a chance for the wagon. The wagon is fast but it has aerodynamics of a tank where the Mclaren are built for speed. I would like to see that Lexus motor in the sedan version tho. May be a little better regarding aero.

Aerodynamics playing the major trump card here. The 720S is like a knife through butter the LEXUS is like using the handle of the knife through butter wind resistance will always be the performance killer.
