Thanks you so much for review Paul Wasabii, I got the CCA Trio for 16$ on 3/3 flash sale day. Very good deal. CCA Trio is sound warm neutral balance. It never gets harsh, no matter how high-pitched the songs are. A very realistic sound feeling. And by the way if you turn all the switch 1,2,3,4 On, it will have a graph similar to the moondrop variation (I see it on therollo9 squig link)
Yes, as I said, that set is going to be hard to beat at the price KZ sold it. I am not sure they will try for a bit as it seems to have sold very well.
always look forward to your succint reviews. Looks like KZ/CCA have anothter fairly good set on their hands. Like you mentioned, they are on the right track with their tuning and I feel like they're getting really close to having a killer set that is going to put a lot of other more expensive sets to shame.
Yes, they are moving towards something, maybe another flagship hybrid. Rhapsody is kinda crazy so I fear they will add a few more drivers and the cost will go up too much. Rhapsody hit the sweet spot and they promoted it at lower prices.
@@PaulWasabiiHad to get the rhapsody at its price point/your review. Been surprised at how useful the tuning switches have been when listening to specific genre for a length of time. Man, everyone seems to have Castor and Rhapsody. Can't complain with that combo but yeah, not sure there is enough to Trio to warrant having all 3. More for people who don't have either or die hard DD fans.
Yeah I think I hit resolution but at these price points, you are looking at tuning exposing more or less. The drivers are technically similar. Where I tend to mention it is when the set goes above $100usd and has multi-drivers. That is the point at which you should hear actual improved techs and most of the time you don't or limited improvement. Again, tuning matters a lot in exposing or burying resolution.
Was going through my budget sets last night and was surprised that with with both 1&2 switched up on each, the Trio (on my sets) had more bass than Castor Bass. The Trio is an underrated iem, a nice inexpensive unique set to add to a collection. Watch out for that nozzle though. It’s huge. Couldn’t get S&S tips on
I thought the bass level was about the same, but treble was not. It might sound bassier with less treble. I think some people prefer Trio for that reason.
i seen other video that said trio better than castor bass. lucky i watch your video later before i get to trio. now i shall look into other earphone now.
Sorry, I have Trio here but not my Castor is on loan. I rarely use stock tips for review because you need to use tips that fit. KZ starlines are actually good, you can flip them and they are better, but I don't like the white ones. I usually use KB07 tips which do come stock with some sets. If a nozzle is short, I will actually use flipped KZ tips and that gives extension and seal.

EA500LM is in a different level of treble. They have a house sound that isn't like KZ. Castor Bass is about the bass, again, very different than the others. Trio and Rhapsody are typical, generally appealing, good value sets.
Great video! how would you say these compare to the Kiwi Ears Cadenza? I was planning on buying the Cadenza but being 22usd on Ali, the CCA Trio look very promising
Cadenza was the classic modified Harman from last year-ish. Nice set but people thing is sounds nice but not the most detailed. CCA tends to use a slightly higher treble level, this will sound a bit brighter, more detailed. Similar to the difference between Cadenza and Wan'er, Wan'er will sound slightly more detailed. Some people just want a warmer, relaxed sound like Cadenza.
I would still take Rhapsody, it is just hard to top 4BA even with 2DD. Some people will prefer no BA timbre at all, then yeah, take Trio. I don't mind, I like hybrids and what they can do. If timbre is your thing, then all DD.
I got castor the treble is so harsh in songs and there is a return policy should i return and get something else? Any opinion can i get cca trio because i do love bass just castor is to harsh with treble
Yes, that was mostly why people are preferring Trio over Castor, literally the words you used to describe the harsh. But since you have Castor, make sure you are using the right tips, a loose fit will make it sound harsher. Try the largest if you have not.
@@PaulWasabii but castor bass is good I do use large eartips I only have issue with the treble Bass is really good just wish treble was better, Dolby Atmos seems to control treble a bit and boost bass as usual but not like a basshead bass but good punchy bass idk whether I'll get that in trio Is trio bass good as castor ? I'm not concerned with amazing sound quality (already have other hifi systems for that), just need something "good enough" with a sufficient amount of bass for the kick drum. I play mostly metal with fast double bass so clarity in that area is also important. Thanks.
Performance is hard to say, the sound is different. Trio basically lets you try a few flavors of sound tweaking with the switches. It is closer to what modern IEMs from other brands around the same price point sound like. DQ6 was a fun one but Trio will let you have more fun and less fun with the bass levels.
I am not sure about the EDX Lite as I never heard it. I liked it in ZSNP2. Sometimes KZ puts out a set and doesn't market it like that one, hard to know why they do that. Price is right to try it, but I just haven't heard it so not sure about it.
Also interested in this. The EDX lite is dirt cheap.Very different tuning than Pro 2. Edx lite graph is nearly identical to KB Rosefinch with slightly different treble. I heard it sounds similar to RF but the bass has a different tone. I wonder if it's the driver, plastic VS metal or both. Would be awesome to see a review on this set! Wonder if it would be worth getting as a basshead or if it's too similar sounding to the Bassfinch which I love.
They aren't quite the same, Trio is still more V shaped. I still like Polaris, it is very good for the $13usd or whatever it is now. Trio is more of a Castor bass replacement, same sound.
Hydro is worth it if you are more into critical listening and going to continue down the rabbit hole of nicer gear. If you just want to enjoy music today without spending $100, then Trio or even EDC Pro.
Hey man, which is better to buy: cca trio for 17$ or Tangzu fudu verse 1 for 41$? I can't find any conparison so idk what is a better buy (and idk how fudu competes today). Thanks
If you compare KZ D-FI with CCA TRIO which one sounds warmer and more natural? Which one is better to buy? I care about male vocals and timbre, so that male vocals sound natural and natural, so that they sound warm
D-Fi hit the same warmth that most bass-boosted Harman style sets hit at the time. But you have switches to move the bass curve too. Trio is slightly warmer and you have switches. I would also look at CCA Polaris, might be cheaper than D-Fi. With KZ, typically newer is better, they refine as they go along.
I don't use my Clarion much. I know people who do. Ultimately its a V-shaped set so lets say it drops the bass a bit with that huge bore, it will catch the brighter end of the V. Is that better? Not sure. With tips, you almost can't ask someone else, You have to buy a few sets and find a couple that work for most of your sets.
Tri clarion Tips have been disappointing to me. I think I've gotten good results on one set. I really like the T-tips. They are great all arounders! Not sure how they do it but they seem to tweak exactly the right spots.

Ah yeah, if you have the two ends, Trio in the middle is more for folks who want that 3DD. I can't argue with that point, but if that isn't your primary concern, you are good for a while
KZ's DD tend to hit a similar range. I think they have a performance metric they use. They tend to be about as fast as similar priced sets, not as fast or clean as some pricier 1DD. Bass speed has been at the ok level for a while and Trio doesn't use their fastest. If you are asking the question, I am not sure its the set for you or you will use the 1111 setting which is the most neutral.
These new multi-DD IEMs from KZ are great, but are they all... huge? or is it just me? like Castor bass looks small but it's actually pretty damn thick. Rhapsody and Trio look significantly bigger than Castor. Is their technique of stacking the drivers in front of each other making the shells too big or does it just look like that? Aoshida E20 has 2 DDs but it feels tiny compared to these.
In this case, I agree, its thicker. I have a feeling they are using similar shells for various sets and the switch takes some room for placement and internal wiring. KZ used to do thin 1DD shells, but since the switch over to the 3D printing and current design, hasn't been a thin one in a while.
Won't be a 100% win for everyone, but as I said, it is just going to hit some people better than other recent sets. I never count out a nice DD or multiple DD, they will always have an audience.
@@FamiliOfficeDotCom I use large tripowin foamtips with my truthear Nova, I would recomend the same for Trio. The switch trend needs to stop! I don’t see anybody playing with them more than once, at purchase. I’d rather have exchangeable nozzles. KZ makes it even worse by not positioning them symmetrically between the 2 earphones.
@@PaulWasabii I have the Polaris & the Castor Bass, and I am terribly annoyed by the switches; to the point I never listen to them. In contrast, I am super happy with the D-Fi no-switch version! Thank you for the reviews, this makes my hear beat as I check for them on YT on a daily.
I don't see how the switches could be annoying. You pick a sound you like and you don't touch em. Sets like the Rhapsody and Castor won't get slimmer without it. So might as well use the space.
I hate these kz iems. Its the same rinse and repeat. Same box, same shells, same cable, same sound. Also cable connector can't they not use 2 pin? Can't they make a new box and change the shops of the iem and stop with these switches make a good sounding iem? Like it can be a basshead iem or something else a and a bit premium. They launch a gazillion models under all their brands.
For me, i prefer this kind of pins because its more robust than those with exposed pins. The reason their boxes are the same because its efficient for them to manufacture, because they release many units and new models
I don't mind the packaging because normally you have cables that you'd change then to anyway. The packaging keeps the price low also. I wish they'd change from qdc to 2 pin.
This is my favourite type of pins as it’s very secure and rugged. The boxes always land in the cabinet and never touched again. I’d prefer to change to my favourite cable and tips anyway so the saving on box and accessories are non consequential to me. In fact, I much prefer they save on those to drive the price down, I do much appreciate what they are doing.

There won't be anything close to EA500LM for a while. Probably until Simgot comes out with another set in that price range.
CCA Trio
Switches: 1101
Foamtips
With those settings, is even better than the em6l woth foamtips!!!!
Try it
$37 dollar endgame is crazy
Won't be a 100% win for everyone, but as I said, it is just going to hit some people better than other recent sets. I never count out a nice DD or multiple DD, they will always have an audience.
What foamtips brand do you use for CCA Trio ?
What DAC Dongle brand do you use for CCA Trio ?
@@FamiliOfficeDotCom I use large tripowin foamtips with my truthear Nova, I would recomend the same for Trio. (I never use large tips, but this is an exception, if you are afraid of it not fitting, then I recomend médium, but not the small ones)
Apple dongle (either usb or lightning) for $8, and Hiby FC3 are the dongles I recomend the most.
The switch trend needs to stop! I don’t see anybody playing with them more than once, at purchase. I’d rather have exchangeable nozzles. KZ makes it even worse by not positioning them symmetrically between the 2 earphones.
I typically play with them, but the 8mm isn't as drastic as other sets. They could have left them off here and no one would mind.
I kiked them on the rhapsody, saved me a bunch of work with eq
I play with the switches all the time, more bass when work out and more mid for longer listening session
In fact, I much prefer they save on those to drive the price down, I do much appreciate what they are doing.
why do some units have "KE" and others "ↄe" next to "on" over switches?
I have no idea, I think they switched switch brands or styles at some point
