As a Himalyan, I wanna say that not just Kashmiri Pandits ...but most Himalyan pandits are avid Meat (especially goat) lovers ❤❤
Yes, Nepali Bahuns eat meat as well
You are a G.O.A.T.But sad to hear that meat eaters have to go through so much in India. It’s just a meal.
@@prax1ano nobody goes through so much in Himalyas...maybe politicians make a big deal out of it in 1 or 2 states but that's it, its quite normal in most parts of India
@@drodro7672❤
Who has told you that meat eaters have to go through, "whatever" they told you ??????????
Meat eating is a part of India's diversity.
Yes most of the Hindus do not eat beef because Cow is considered to be Mother as it provides milk to us. @@prax1ano
Great food with great culture and hospitality. Couldn't be more genuine and authentic.
I am glad he is PROMOTING KASHMIRI PANDIT CULTURE ❤❤❤ its absolutely beautiful
Being a kashmiri pandit , love how u eat the authentic cuisine of the valley !!
Lovely to see our Kashmiri cuisine and seeing you Mohit endorsing it 😊
Lots of love and respect to the Kashmiri Pandit community. ❤
absolutely love Kashmiri vegetarian food. their nadru dishes are to die for. I had experienced this once in Mumbai in Kashyap bhavan during a function. they had made a combination of Nadru and haak and Dum aloo, rajgira pooris and their dryfruit kahwa. I am crazy craving for this food right now !!
Do give a try in chinar pune ..you will be able to taste the same thing
@@Torukhmaktou went to Kashmir in March. stayed with locals and had absolutely amazing experience both with travel and food.
Thank you Kunal and Mohit....
Good to see Mohit in Kashmir and explaining Kashmiri pandit delicacies...
Thank you for showing us the authentic and original food of Kashmir. This food reminds me of GSB community where they avoid using onion and garlic and use very less spices.
Hits all spots episode. Very good background music of santoor. Thanks Kunal sir for bringing people together through food videos.... ❤
Nostalgic being a Rajasthani

Hello sir, My name is Anupama Shandilya , i am interested in persuing my PHD on Kashmiri pandit culture and how it got affected post exodus. i want to have insight about the actual practices of KP. can we have talk about that if you are interested.

Not just Kashmiri pandits.. many other communities serve and offer non veg in Pooja.. in Kerala there is a temple where the Prasad is moong daal and chicken..
Bengalis serve fish head on ashtami during Durga Pooja..
It's based on the regional available resources that are utilised in cooking.. devotion and food both are part of our cultural heritage..
India is incredible for a reason.. full of surprises😊
Fish head is not offered to Ma Durga on Ashtami . The bhog offered on the day is labra -Kichuri - It is totally 'niramish'.However, there is no restriction on the people eating non -Vegetarian food. Fish head is integral part of most occasions/celebrations ( annoprashon etc) , but typically not offered to any of the Godesses as bhog ( But there may be those odd exceptions that I am not aware of).
we offer goat blood in Nepal on poojas
Kashmiri Pandits remain fully vegetarian on Ashtami's. Slowly people are desisting from making non- vegetarian on Shiv Ratri. Kashmiri Pandits eating non-vegetarian is probably because of the harsh conditions in winter and perhaps vegetables not available in olden times.
@@poulomidasgupta1998 Bengalis who have their ancestry from East Bengal (Bangaal) usually offer Goddess Lakshmi Jora Ilish (Hilsa Pair) on Kojagori Lokkhi pujo along with dhaan and other offerings! Entire night of prayer, offerings and jagran!
Great food of Kashmiri Pandits..
The problem is that people are selling fake dishes in the name of Kashmiri throughout India. For example they sprinkle few nuts on a veg pulao and say it’s Kashmiri veg biryani whereas such dish doesn’t exist. Or they make any whole potatoes in any yellow thick gravy and say it’s Dum aloo. And worst is when they cook any curry mutton and say it’s rogan josh.
We do have a veg pulav and it’s mostly made in weddings
@@tammanafayaz But that would be authentic with Kashmiri flavours. Not the one sold in mainland India
@@asavnad7246I’m not sure what they sell I’ve never tried it.
Actually kashmiri biryani doesn't exist
Problem ye nahi hai problem ye hai ki non vegetarian ko vegetarian se koi dikkat nahi par vegetarian ko non vegetarian se badi dikat hai kadwa hai par such hai🤔
Delicious food ! Kashmiri Pandit's special Thali authentic. You are great Mohit ji .Good job God bless you.🎉
Where is the thali ?
Delicious. I'm from this region and this cuisine is truly drool worthy .
This is one of the few food anchors featuring hidden gems of the cuisines of so many distinctive Indian subcommunities.
Great to see Kashmiri Pandit cuisine getting its due recognition 😊
His serving bowls are so beautiful, pristine white and unchipped nor cracked.
The beauty of Kashmiri pandit cuisine is just marvelous.. without onion, garlic, tomato food can be amazing and there are many authentic dishes in Kashmiri pandit cuisine but one thing was missed that is dessert and shufta had to be presented at the end of the meal.
We do have recipes with
Dried vegetables
Dried fishes
Gucchi pulav ( Morales)
Mutton items ( Roganjosh, mascch, kaliya, chok charwan, kabargah)
Veg items ( dumaloo, nadru yakhni, khatte baingan, al yakhni, haak saag, rajma daal, dry fruit pulav, maunj anchar, mooli chutney, red paneer, yellow paneer, and many more )
Art is how you fry , slow deep crisp and slow cook with just few masala.
Nothing extra required. And phirni or kesar elaichi dahi . Feel the devine food
What an episode... absolutely loving... Sharing the nuances of Kashmiri pandit cuisines in such detailed manner to many of us who are perhaps not aware of this side of our Kashmiri food culture... the story telling was simply superb ... so is the background score... a much loved episode of a different kind and much congratulations to the entire team...🤗👍🙏👋😋
Wonderful video! It's great to see Kashmiri Pandit cuisine. By the way, even Kashmiri Pandits are also Saraswat Brahmins, they and GSB come from a common origin.
True. Interesting that Kunal mentioned that exact caste. Chitrapur Saraswat, Rajapur Saraswat are also related. Both Tendulkar and Gavaskar come from this Rajapur Saraswat caste.
So Marathi Brahmins became pescatarians and left the other forms of non veg? Common thread is not eating onions and garlic?
Jainism started the veg formulation, but whsts the deal with onion and garlic? So no chaats for them?
Happy to know and taste another delicious part of KASHMIRI CUISINE..Kashmiri Culture including its cuisine is the boon of its diversified heavenly nature..JAI HIND 🎉JAI BHARAT MATA KI JAI 💕 🙏
We in Odisha too offer fish to Devi maa. There are many such Devi temples in our state where fish is cooked and offered to Maa
Wonderful to see Kashmiri Pandit cuisine with various delicacies
Wah! Kya episode hai. Background music wah wah. Santoor kya bajaya hai. Sundar. Khub sundar

वाह वाह !!! क्या स्वादिष्ट कश्मीर है ❤❤❤❤
Kashmiri pandit food is great .. 🙏🏻
Ive been to Kashmir twice in the last 3 years but none suggested me these veg dishes nor tell me where I can find them.
If any Kashmiri is reading this, let me know good restaurants or even small places where i can find good veg stuff (kashmiri). Next time i visit ill surely try.
Delhi n pune Matamal restaurant.
One of my patients invited me on shiv ratri and lot of non veg cuisines were served
15:49 Bengali shakta sampradaaya mey bhi kuch jagaho par puja mey meat chadhta hain....mujhe aaj iss video se kashmir mey bhi aisa hone ka pata chala.
Great work to let the world know about our bhatt cuisine. Keep it up Maharah 🙏❤️

Kashmiri pandit cuisine is one of the yummiest ❤
Excellent presentation! My wish is to try this cuisine, one day - that Dum Aloo - fabulous! Much love and respect from 🇨🇦 😀
Very nice paaji and Pandit ji
Yeah the best part is about the knowledge of the cuisine....i was under the impression kashmiri pandits association with non veg was due to low productivity of vegetables during wintera 😊
Who said left can't meet right? Kashmir will shine in all its glory soon.
One of the best episode sir the way he cooking food and serve 👍best kashmiri foods❤
Growing up we hardly heard or learned about the jihad against Kashmiri pandits. Bhartiya themselves were refugees in their own country, driven out, wiped out of existence and memory. It is time to revive the rich heritage of Kashmiri pandits. And nothing can be a better start than bringing cuisines of the Kashmiri pandits in mainstream.
This is ATB episode of khane main kya hai i was very enjoying this episode, thank you kunal sir.
Irrespective of food....the fact that the Kashmiri Hindu who is actually a Bhoomi putra of Kashmir is residing there and enjoying his life, is something really really soothing to watch👌👍
Thanks for showcasing the Kashmiri Pandit cuisine. Something which is new to me.
2:07 😅 Sounded like one of them had a protein rich dinner the day before
Kunal ji, big fan of ur channel. Very delicious Kashmir episode 😋. Please plan to be visit Jammu region, leh ladhak region soon. There’s variety in these regions equally unique and mouthwatering.
Looks scrumptious! So where can we eat the best versions of this in kashmir? Especially the vegetarian delicacies. Please suggest
Astonished to see a pandit eating non veg. Great to share such experience.
Glad you liked it
Almost whole pandit community eats meat in J&K.
Essential tip: brahmins from bengal (excluding vaishnabs), orissa, konkan, assam, kashmir eat nonveg. Why? That's the way it has been for centuries.
@@moinakbhattacharya878 GSB and konkanasta brahmins do eat nonveg
@@moinakbhattacharya878 Maybe because they live in areas where less agriculture so more need for alternative food sources.
You have missed Al Yakhni and tsok wangun, two famous veg dishes.
Luv u bhai for what u r , Also thanku for providing such a great platform to our kashmiri cuisine...specially to our "Hakk & Damolu".
i personally believe that cuisine credit shall be given to the geographical region than the community. as the weather that allows you to cook in certain way. the local vegetables , animals and spices and fruits are available seasonally. etc etcc... so food tradition credit goes to the region than the community.
Its not about Hindu Muslim its up to u as a human being what u wanna eat , period ! ✌😎✌
Tremendous episode❤
I don’t know why being an avid Egg and Fish eater is am drawn towards that Kashmiri Sarso dish. Absolutely drooling ❤❤❤❤
Try dogra food someday..Come to jammu for that u will love it..Handlickingly delicious 😋
That haak is compulsory hit me hard..when residing outside kashmir i missed and crave for this aab haak
Great food
Great information
Great taste 😅 must be
In Odisha Brahmins also eat non veg food.
In coastal Odisha, Devi Maa Temples Non Veg Prasad prepared without onion and garlic.
Hinduism is liberal and multifaceted. 😊
true- Kashmiri dum aloo thoda theeka hota hai but the best in the world. No one can match the dum aloo like Kashmiris.
Mohit make arrangements asap I am coming to ur place to hv such great food
Yummy kashmiri cuisine
Kunal, you do an amazing service through this channel sharing these wonderful cuisines of India. Some of these are lesser known but outstanding. I personally love Kashmiri cuisine and the heartiness and warmth of the Kashmiri people but it's a challenge to find such food in Mumbai. Same goes for North East cuisine or CKP, Pathare Prabhu etc. Really sad that we can get Korean, Japanese and Lebanese food more easily than such cuisines from our own country. So my solution is to try these recipes at home. Keep up the good work 👏
Mazz aav wuchith ❤
Delicious food😋
Lovely episode .. first time seen episode highlighting kashmiri pandit cuisine
Loved watching this fantastic episode of Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits cuisines. Hoping to make some of the dishes at home ❤️ 👍

Amazing vlog 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mr mohit how is kashmiri lal mirch made
Nice Introduction to the Kashmiri Pandit cuisine but Kunal you have not even touched the Surface of KP Cuisine, there are 15 Veg & 15 Nonveg Dishes which are uniquely prepared by KPs and i can see only 4 on your table. A suggestion - Next time try to gate crash into a Kashmiri Pandit wedding where you can get the real Taste of our food 🙂
meats of goat , buffalo, pigeon are given to maa kali in eastern India such as assam west bengal oddisa
