Hes says he wants to teach martial arts and now he is in his hometown and im his student, and its the best school on the planet Krav Maga alliance his dreams came true such a great man and a big inspiration in my life
you are sadly mistaken this guy is not at all like jeff hardy. If anything he's the complete opposite just because he paints his face doesn't not make any comparison. Vampiro was probably one of the best wrestlers in history despite that fact that he is very underated. Jeff hardy on the other hand is way too popular for his own good. And hasn't really been able to live up to the standards the people expect. A mean for a guy that's fucked up countless times im surprised he even has a job.
well WCW may have politically held him down from reaching his true potential in the company, but they gave him National exposure in the United States, I never heard of Vampiro, being a teenager in the 90s before he came to WCW and I really dug his look and style, not to mention he joined up with my favorite wrestler, Raven
I agree, though if you go by how many people he's wrestled in front of, there's been events in mexico that have out-soled wrestlemania. I would love to have seen him in wwe tho, or come back to tna
As much as I always wanted to see him in WWE, I guess that's just a selfish fan. His reservation from ever trying to join it probably was his fear he'd be misused or lose his identity to the company, and he was probably right about that. Was always my favorite WCW guy though, despite the constant misuse. Still, I'd like to see him maybe make an appearance on RAW for just one night or something for nostalgia purposes.
@loganakers That depends on who you ask. Remember, the wrestling world is much bigger than the WWE. Sure, in America Stone Cold is miles ahead of Vampiro when it comes to just everything, however in Mexico, it's a completely different story.
No, Not Directly But He Said I Was Really Into Punk Rock And The Road Warriors Coming Out To Black Sabbath... Just Kinda Sounds Like He's Saying They're Punk Rock
No it's actually a blessing WWE didn't sign him as they would have treated him like shit and dragged his name through the mud anyway. TNA may have been a better option for him but it's just a shame he can't wrestle due to back problems now. Well, so I heard.
@kawajiri4eva he fueded with Sting for months, the biggest name WCW ever produced. just because he thinks he should have been 10 time World Champion and you buy that doens't mean he didn't make it to the big time. he was big time for 2 years. if you make it to WCW or WWE you're big time. have some perspective, most wrestlers never make it there at all, lets alone fued with one of it's biggest stars
***** Vampiro is color commentator for Lucha Underground... other than that. Idk. I'm honestly just starting to really look back at his wrestling career.. I've known about the guy for YEARS now. Maybe caught a match or 2. But the way I was introduced to him was thru the group Insane Clown Posse's Dark Lotus album... hate all you want ppl! I'm a juggalo. Sue me! But seriously tho. He seems like he's a legit guy who just likes to wrestle n have fun..
It's true he made a statement on jcw's website a few years ago. You can Google it. He's recently celebrated a birthday. In my book, that makes him bloody gangster! Pun fully intended.
I dunno. Maybe he didn't deserve a chance. According to Eddie Guerrero in his book, Vampiro was a backstabbing snake and a selfish liar. Just the kind of person who killed WCW from the inside. The kind of guy who'd be nice to you in your face, but talk shit about you the moment you turn your back. Eddie also said that Vampiro was all gimmick and not that great of a wrestler. He did work with him countless times in Mexico. Who knows really?
I loved his run in WCW...i looked forward to watching him every week..entertaining and put on great matches!
He was the reason I watched wcw when I first started watching wrestling and only liked wwf
And actually he is doing all that in Lucha underground. this guy is a legend
Hes says he wants to teach martial arts and now he is in his hometown and im his student, and its the best school on the planet Krav Maga alliance his dreams came true such a great man and a big inspiration in my life
"I like turtles".
Lmao!
meshen85 😂
Oh shit lol
What a cool cool guy.
Watching Vampiro here and after is fascinating.
Hes soo chilled, cool, humble, good spoken person.
Respect to him.
Humble dude who wants to make ammends for pasts transgressions. Much love to Vampiro!
Man vampiro kicks ass
He had an Inferno match or something with Sting in WCW, referred to as a 'human torch' match
To bad We don't see Vampiro on a bigger stage-WWE, first time I saw him wrestle He was fantastic, someone like Vampiro deserves Big Money.
He said their whole package was like a punk rock song.
A lot of impact in a short time period.
I remember when he was in the water during that match with The Demon. That was when he was hiding up in the tree when the Demon was looking for him.
you are sadly mistaken this guy is not at all like jeff hardy. If anything he's the complete opposite just because he paints his face doesn't not make any comparison. Might also have to do with the fact that he tried to fuck over drug cartels in mexico. Smart guy this vampiro.
well WCW may have politically held him down from reaching his true potential in the company, but they gave him National exposure in the United States, I never heard of Vampiro, being a teenager in the 90s before he came to WCW and I really dug his look and style, not to mention he joined up with my favorite wrestler, Raven
great post as usual! you always get awesome interviews
vvampiro never got the chance he deserves, he will go down as one of the best wrestlers and entertainers that never made it to the big time
So handsome and so cute
Looks like Beetlejuice ;)
I agree, though if you go by how many people he's wrestled in front of, there's been events in mexico that have out-soled wrestlemania. I would love to have seen him in wwe tho, or come back to tna
Is this from recent times? I would really love to see Vampiro succeed and make the big money. He deserves it and has paid his dues.
As much as I always wanted to see him in WWE, I guess that's just a selfish fan. His reservation from ever trying to join it probably was his fear he'd be misused or lose his identity to the company, and he was probably right about that. STICK!!! STICK!!! STICK!!!
with or without paint he is sexy
for a cool guy he's pretty underrated
LOD what a pop they got
even shares benoit's way of helping the younger talent :D
Underrated talent. He could have been a megastar in wwe.
They would had buried him. WWE has always been about politics.
Underrated how
He's literally one of the biggest stars in the history of Mexican wrestling
right up there with super dragon
Vampiro has faced CM Punk a few times on the indies.
WCW couldn't ruin Vampiro, all the reals fans knew who was the talent there. I used to watch shitty ass Nitro for this man and Papa Pump
@vcharon That's not selfish at all, I'm a huge fan of Vampiro and I'd loved to have seen him come to WWE when WCW folded.
He can still wrestle, right now he is in AAA and recently lost his hair to Chessman.
@loganakers That depends on who you ask. Remember, the wrestling world is much bigger than the WWE. Sure, in America Stone Cold is miles ahead of Vampiro when it comes to just everything, however in Mexico, it's a completely different story.
@ratedtriplex haha yeah..we're few and far in between..but there ARE still real fans out there!
What you meant to say is "Looks like Jeff Hardy is a Vampiro mark"

How come he never went to the WWF after Vince purchased the WCW in March of 2001
he was cool in wcw
jose Lopez i was cool in wcw
@MrChacho182 Yeah and kinda favors him a little also.
Great interview! I used to watch WCW ten years ago and I still cringe at how some people would never get a good push. Vampiro was one of them.
What About his Rivalry with Sting in WCW?
Wwe should've signed him !!
sessionsinthahouse vamp in the brood imagine that
id love to see cm punk vs vampiro
@MrChacho182 ikr!!! But Ian is alive while Benoit is.....not so much
No it's actually a blessing WWE didn't sign him as they would have treated him like shit and dragged his name through the mud anyway.
TNA may have been a better option for him but it's just a shame he can't wrestle due to back problems now. Well, so I heard.
Call Me Gaffer well wwe or tna could've signed if vampiro wanted to
This is 2001 or 2002.
2001
@kawajiri4eva he fueded with Sting for months, the biggest name WCW ever produced. just because he thinks he should have been 10 time World Champion and you buy that doens't mean he didn't make it to the big time.
he was big time for 2 years. if you make it to WCW or WWE you're big time. have some perspective, most wrestlers never make it there at all, lets alone fued with one of it's biggest stars

thi guy was ae for theoldwwf but never gt thecall.m she would have fit in with the gangrell group
He's right. wwe is fucking boring.
Kinda looks like David Lee Roth in face paint. lol
Kin Dread but he ain't talking about a Yankee rose
Please one of you point to a match Vampiro has w ANY one that has heat from the audience and the match tells a story.. TKS
The styles are too different, and Vampiro isn't one to play to the crowd anywhere near as much as Jeff Hardy.
he looks like jeff hardy
he is better than jeff hardy.
***** Vampiro is color commentator for Lucha Underground... other than that. Idk. I'm honestly just starting to really look back at his wrestling career.. I've known about the guy for YEARS now. Joe Bradford he got diagnosed with a brain tumour AND stomach cancer its a miracle he's still standing!
rachel flint No shit?! Wow, that's sad, but its f'n awesome at the same time! I mean. He's alive and well for the part. Thanks for the info Rachel! (:
It's true he made a statement on jcw's website a few years ago. You can Google it. He's recently celebrated a birthday. In my book, that makes him bloody gangster! Pun fully intended.
amazing how WCW ruined a lot of great wrestlers

DeadmanInc336 well that's what Eddie said but that's his opinion not yours because you don't know that person
