This is either 2001 or 2002.....Konnan here has a CRYSTAL CLEAR spot-on analysis of everything that happened as if he has had TWENTY years to sit back and think about it all....THIS guy should have been one of the ones running the company!
No disrespect here, but I didn't expect for Konnan to be so well spoken and highly effective in conveying his thoughts! Very entertaining interview and passionate about the business. This is insights coming from his view was very informative and eye-opening
He's a very smart guy. I remember Max Moon, but i never knew that was Konnan until after his time in WCW. I remember how hot he was in WCW and what he says about them holding guys back and screwing up is so true. He's right, he could have been a lot bigger; he has far more charisma than someone like Randy Orton, that's for sure
Konnan is one of the biggest backstage players in Mexico. He didn't do drugs for a long time, I do think he was smoking in the late 90's and drinking, but before that and after that time period he was clean. The whole Mexican gangster look was a gimmick, he actually is Cuban and like Hall and Nash he knew pop culture.
I remember being a WCW fan back in the day specifically for the Mexican wrestlers and the cruiserweights that were there. The mid card matches were always better than the main events, because that's where the talent was. It's a shame that they were held back so much.
I never payed any. attention to konnan i thought he was just meat.I started watching his interviews and then his ring work.Shame on me that guy really knows what he's saying great talker and thinker also a great wrestler
I remember when i was a kid, he came to san antonio and everyone in the alamdome was wearing the k-dog t's he was real popular! I wanted to buy the t-shirt with the red bulldog and they had sold out!
The disadvantage with having a union is that the crowd would have very little input in selecting the wrestler they want, and I think it would hurt the competitive spirit of the sport.
I don't think there's one interview from Konnan that I haven't like. This guy should do commentary for the WWE, but they'd probably fuck him up on the air.
Think about what you said. If the Mexican wrestlers had given better matches than the rest, who was the actual main event attraction tht drew people to watch WCW? They were main eventers that could put on a show anytime of the card.
This just kind of shows you how the people calling the shots and the politics in wrestling can really make create peoples view of you through television. I definitely was not into Konnan at the time but I definitely think it was from stereotypical gimmicks because I've watched like all of his shoots and interviews on youtube.
In Mexico his character is an outsider/foreigner. In the US he's Mexican. Same with Eddie Guerrero, he was seen as a "gringo" in Mexico for being Mexican American.
as much as i hate to say it, Konnan, Psychosis, and Eddie were the only three luchadores who deserved a push at the time. Rey didn't have a mix of heavyweight and cruserweight moves at the time like he does now and the rest just didn't have the tools to be great. Konnan had the biggest chance considering his size and Eddie as well considering his style (a mix of lucha, tech, and strong). Again, its truly too bad that Konnan isn't making more money in the business, but at least he's doing well
Lets get this straight I am in no way shape or form a fan of Konnan the wrestler but he's not lying he had heat and was over big time. I don't believe he was big enuff to be the wcw heavyweight champ but U.s or t.v 100% and if I'm not mistaken he was a tag team holder. WCW not using guys like Jerchico,Mysterio,Booker T(Booker finally got a single push but I thought it came to late) and yes even Konnan the right way was the down fall
I respect him for always keeping it 100% and not kissing ass. Same thing with Low Ki. Not sure why WWE is not smart enough to use these talented guys. I like Cena but he is not that good of a wrestler. At least they are using Daniel Bryan the right way.
so I can make work and would like to make music with him and get it we can make you mix by blood Cuban Native American mix by blood Puerto Rico Native it would be for you it American we were born on your way here American in American rap song with him my really true super deep serious good way'S cool nice friend Konnan or K- Dogg and Tommy Ray Staley'S Jr. or Lil Tommy/Staley'S
hes sitting there saying he doesnt blame vince russo bc he was brought up like that its a guido italian thing well saying all italians are like that is fucking racist lol this guy right here
"i found other things like boxing and girls" .....classic
I love how Konnan tells stories in his podcast. Dude is hilarious.
Who is this watching this great interview in 2020?
This is cool man. I like how gives a clear direct answer every time and not sugar coat anything. Konnan's the man.
This NIGGA will forever be the Goat to me
Konnan is a good Dude. Always spoke from the heart, it came across in his promos in the ring too. no BS kind of dude.
This is either 2001 or 2002.....Konnan here has a CRYSTAL CLEAR spot-on analysis of everything that happened as if he has had TWENTY years to sit back and think about it all....THIS guy should have been one of the ones running the company!

Double Penetr8or djdfjßsmwxksddwnijssjdoedkd kdeeme

O LA LEY!!!!! ARIBA LA RAZA!!!!! Konnan was great back in the WCW. Definitely underrated.
WWF should of got Konan instead of Perry Saturn in 2000
Still come back to this from time to time. Absolute genius mind for the business.
That's funny because I thought he WAS the level of a Scott Hall in WCW, I remember seeing a lot more Konnan than Scott Hall 99-2000.
TCVB491 facts but by then Scott left
Wasnt Jeff Jarrett a top guy then? Konnan is awesome but he wasnt ever a star like Hall in the US.
No disrespect here, but I didn't expect for Konnan to be so well spoken and highly effective in conveying his thoughts! Very entertaining interview and passionate about the business. This is insights coming from his view was very informative and eye-opening

I remember being a WCW fan back in the day specifically for the Mexican wrestlers and the cruiserweights that were there. The mid card matches were always better than the main events, because that's where the talent was. It's a shame that they were held back so much.

Konnan is a legend
I remember when i was a kid, he came to san antonio and everyone in the alamdome was wearing the k-dog t's he was real popular! I wanted to buy the t-shirt with the red bulldog and they had sold out!
Great interview.
What is this full shoot called I remember it was a big thing, also vampiro had an interview on it as well.
how many fucking earrings does Konnan have in his ear? needs to open a jewellery store with all that bling lol
@megga0 yes there is sound. problem is with your audio. try it again.
When was this recorded
Lol, the Red Bull.
What year was this interview?
Seems like a cool guy.
Was this taped in New York City?
When he wore the mask and all that that's when he was at his best.
Very intelligent guy.
Checkout MLW podcast every Sunday with Konnan
@lancecryor Yes you're right.
I remember how they used to chant boring during the matches on TV.
Was this an impromptu interview? If so, it's pretty damn impressive.
I think Konnan was awesome.
Now it does but back then was the shit
@ 4:46 a car drives by and some dude shouts, "Viva La Raza!"
Think about what you said. If the Mexican wrestlers had given better matches than the rest, who was the actual main event attraction tht drew people to watch WCW? They were main eventers that could put on a show anytime of the card.
K so this is 2001-2002 I assume
one person disliked this... come on
While he's pounding a Red Bull.
4:44-VIVA LA RAZZAA...lmao somebody yells it out
thank you for your speech a great new mexico person
This just kind of shows you how the people calling the shots and the politics in wrestling can really make create peoples view of you through television. @justletuslive It was the guy jogging in the back round...
hes cuban why is he so caught up with reppin mexico all the time
Cause he loves Mexico. He and Vampiro were as big as Hulk Hogan there.
Not to mention close friends like Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and many others were Mexican.
Asstrologist Thats where he started wrestling
In Mexico his character is an outsider/foreigner. In the US he's Mexican. Same with Eddie Guerrero, he was seen as a "gringo" in Mexico for being Mexican American.
no sound

just say some of the wrestlers shouldn't con the other person or the owner so the guys earn big money
I wish he would wear his mask
Konnan should of been in wwe
Konnan was cool as hell in WCW. That was when wrestling was cool. WWE dropped off big time after Stone Cold.
@jrdudedj same here
I respect him for always keeping it 100% and not kissing ass. Same thing with Low Ki. Not sure why WWE is not smart enough to use these talented guys. I like Cena but he is not that good of a wrestler. At least they are using Daniel Bryan the right way.
