17:06 this was the only Lego set I had as a child so this one holds a LOT of nostalgia for me
Hi Chippy 😊
@@ChippyGaming didn't think I'd see you here lol
Hi terraria man
That one is so fun, too. The web trap play feature is absolutely brilliant!
Lockhardt would make for such an amazing spinoff for Harry Potter. Small mini series about "his" adventures with Branagh
omg that would be genius
Oh yes. Have you seen "Our flag means death"? Steed looks SO much like Lockhard.😅
Yeah… will sadly never be made because of the reboot 😔
That could be sooo hilarious. The films have their flaws, but the casting was always perfect.
gotta make it so that he constantly looks edited into the scenes, like he wasn't there and they just green-screened him in to replace the real heroes of each story
there is something very nostalgic about the hyper detailed prints paired with super blocky pieces
Right? It's just so on-brand for the era. I love it.
I love how the grey flag is meant to “contain” the bludgers
I am surprised by how well the shapes line up though;
Fun Fact: The 8x16 Dark Grey bricks in these sets are the only source of those parts and are necessary to recreate many of the structures from the Rock Raiders game!
I’d’ve never guessed that!
They are wonderful pieces! Extremely useful for making any model super sturdy
These videos most take a long time to make and I just want to thank you for taking the time to make these and make some people smile, thank you.
That means a lot. I'm really glad so many people enjoy these!
The old harry potter sets have a feel that i dont think can ever be recreated
I believe that's called "your childhood"
Indeed. It was a different era for sure. TLG and the Harry Potter franchise have changed so much since. I'll always miss this style of set though.
Yeah, it's kinda nostalgic. It feels like the older sets are more special due to the creative freedoms of the Designers of LEGO and the various other building Ideen at the end of the instruction. The Designers really cared for the development of creativity in children, which is awesome.
EDIT: Sorry for probable mistakes in the words here but I still have a German automatic correction.
For real. If I ever find myself comfortable enough to spend on something extra, I would swing for some classic Star Wars and Harry Potter sets.
I get what you mean they have like an original nice feeling in my opinion ❤
16:21 my brother and I built this set at ToysRUs as kids, so I can confirm that they gave out stickers to apply to a tan and blue brick for the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw insignias, respectively. I've been meaning to rebuild my copies for years, now you've given me more motivation to do so, thank you!
That’s really cool! I would love to get this set, I just can’t seem to find any of these for sale.
I remember seeing kids build those at Toys ‘R’ Us! I miss all the fun lil events TRU used to do. ☺️
@@SanguivoreNgl if we still had Toys R Us near where I am I'd go no matter how old I get, they had some great stuff there
@@O111e Me too! ^-^ I love Toys ‘R’ Us!
Wish I had been slightly older so I could have experienced this! It's crazy how rare the towers are now. I hope your stickers are still intact!
7:52 Aww, Draco teaching Goyle how to read
Wholesome lolol
Early lego has just that fealing
Indeed. Truly a vibe
I always thought that “bag of stardust” 1x2 tile print was a chicken leg…
You are not alone
That's the very first thing I thought upon seeing it in this video, lol.
I also thought that. xD
Kid me definitely would agree too 😂
As a total arachnophobe, I still don't know why I absolutely needed the Aragog set.... My mom turned this and the Quidditch set into a DIY advent calendar, each day a handful of pieces wrapped up in giftwrap, like an early version of numbered bags, and so every morning I could build a few steps of the set. But really....spiders...for Christmas? Why. In my opinion still the best Aragog, precisely because he doesn't look that creepy
Sounds like an awesome advent calender🔥
That is such a sweet and creative thing for your moms to do! :D
That's so wholesome ❤
Moms are the best. What a fun way to make the joy last a little longer!
Have you considered doing a revisiting of Lord of the rings? I'd love to see that!
I would love to! I have a good chunk of the sets, but I'm still missing enough to make it very very expensive. 🤣 We'll see. Maybe I could find someone in the area I could borrow from to use for a week or two
This video brought me back to times when I would spent hours looking over posters of these sets that we could at the time never afford...that and later playing Chamber of Secrets on PC
I wish I remembered more about the PC game. I know I had it and played it, but it was just too long ago...
ive never clicked on a video so fast. i love this trip down memory lane with the theme that really got me passionate about lego. i look forward to seeing the series continue
Omg, it was also the Harry Potter theme that made me a Lego enthusiast.
Really excited about the 2004 PoA sets. Those were some of my earliest LEGO sets, and it's definitely the wave that got me obsessed with LEGO as well!
Dumbledore's mailbox, the unintended easteregg for German Potter fans

I love my sand red Lockhart fig... great video on these amazing sets and figs grumptastic job my friend
Sand red could almost be brought back for minifigures alone - there's so much potential there!
26:55
I think this scorpion was meant to represent dragon's body and a tail. At least I always thought about it that way
Ahh, I can see that now! Very interesting
Watching your Harry Potter videos is such a joy. Idk how to describe it, but it feels like someone pets my brain.
If Lego does another Knockturn Alley it will be the first HP set I'll be buying since I was a kid in the early 2000s
I'd love to see that as a Diagon Alley expansion!
this is so nostalgic for me, even though i never had any of these sets growing up and they were slightly before my time, that classic lego simplicity makes me so happy
Right? It's such an iconic aesthetic. Takes me back...
Can we please petition Lego to bring back sand red?? GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT
Pleaseeeeee 😩
The Dobby head really looks creepy. Who knows what he saw, when he still was with the Malfoys?
There's so many untold stories in those eyes 👁️👁️
man. i miss this era of lego so much. fun mattered more than accuracy.
Exactly. LEGO forgot they made toys over the years 😭
There are things I know look worse about these sets, but what I love so much is that these sets don't just try to recreate the movies; these lego sets try to recreate the feeling a kid would have had watching them for the first time. At least for that, I will always respect these more than their rebooted counterparts ❤
That's a great way of putting it! You're so right.
Very well done again. 52 entertaining minutes! Nice to see the more unique parts in this series, I’ll be adding these to a wanted list 😉
Yessss! There's so many great old parts from this year. Glad you enjoyed the video!
These overview videos are so nice. I get to see all of the sets that I could only imagine by reading the ads on the back of the manuals. This was my favorite series but I only had a few sets. Once I spotted a mostly complete collection at a friends house but he wasn't interested in letting me see it so this video is the first time I really get to see them assembled. Thanks for making these, it's like an advanced form of nostalgia.
I'm really glad you enjoy these! It's so fun getting to share the complete collections with you all
My favorite set from this wave is probably Aragog in the Dark Forest. I just love the mechanism so ingenious and fun too. Truly spectacular.
That really did blow my mind. It's so insanely clever - just makes you smile!
GUYS DONT SAY "where did voldemort go? Nobody nose" TO VOLDEMORT
*WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE*
love that nether portal in dumbledore's office
true lolol so ahead of its time
Im so glad you came out with part two!
And hopefully quite a few more parts to come! 🤞
That privet drive set is so nostalgic for me. I got for my birthday that year and my brother helped me put it together. It was my first proper lego set. I took the flying car on lots of real car journeys and would have so much fun with it. Love the video 😊
Thank you! Love that I could bring back some good memories ❤️
Would love to see you do a wave review of the fantasy castle sets. Your attention to detail and quality would do it justice
Eventually :) I've got a good chunk of the sets, so I think I can make it happen!
Nostalgic look back @ HP sets! Thx for the history lesson! 💕
No problem at all! ❤️
I got whole bunch of printed wall pieces with snake mouth from pick a brick crate. Used them as generic walls turned backwards.
Hey, that works too lol! It's nice to have such large bricks
this was a mind blowing series for its time. Loved playing with all my sets as a kid and the modular system. Even more so when Prisoner of Azkaban was released. Can't wait for your part 3 video when the era of yellow minifigures end and skin colour introduces
Part 3 is going to be a ton of fun. I absolutely adore those sets
It's interesting how Americans say Lucius like "Loo-shus" instead of "Loo-see-us" like in the movies.
Even I'll concede that Loo-see-us is the correct pronunciation 🤣
Dumlebore's Office was one of my favorite sets as a kid. Those spiral stairs are so fun.
It's such a creative set. There was just so much to do in it
Amazing as always! prisoner of Azkaban are my favorite Lego sets of all time and I cant wait to see you get to them! I also cant wait for your next exo force video!
Lots of fun stuff in the Revisiting pipeline. I'm thinking Exo-Force will be up next in August!
The most anticipated video series for me, keep up the good job, excelent video
Thank you! I cannot wait to record part 3. That's gonna be so fun
Can’t wait for part 3 love your dedication and hard work keep it up please and thankyou
Really appreciate it! Excited to get to work on that one too. It's gonna be a lot of fun
6:03 Goyle was also featured in 2010/2011 wave :))
RIP, I always forget him
@@CheeseyStudios Such an odd choice to include him, right? That's why I had to get him in my collection 😂
Yoooo I straight up forgot I was in this one LOL another fire video 🫡
Ha! Thanks again for the contribution ❤️
Well this was a very fun video. Love your enthusiasm to these sets.
Thank you! Ah, I love these sets so much. But I'm really gonna lose my mind over the 2004 ones!
Now this is a special video for me! When i Got back into lego i slowly started collecting all of these (and some of the 2001 sets) the dualing club was the first older set I bought sealed. Stir have all the sets assembled and on display together
These are peak nostalgia! Glad you enjoy them too.
17:20 It's really odd that for one time LEGO decided to create accurate printing. Also Harry's checked shirt is accurate
21:11 It's worth mentioning that Vernon Dudley's face was exploited outside LEGO Harry Potter (to be honest only Lucius one probably was also reused amongs many to choose). Vernon was also a knight or a Police officer!
27:51 I recently bought new version and I love it. But old version, with weird shelves full of goodess and Dumbledore's private mailbox... You just can't pass away without looking! 😂
33:00 This hairpiece is PURRFECT for Bo Katan. Lego shouldn't give up on this mold imo. It's great 38:53 It's sad that LEGO got more inside info of the production, because it would be great to see book-based Chamber with enormous Slytherin's statue 44:01 Inclusion of two base plates is very neat 46:01 beside Troll on the loose and marauder map set this is only set I desire to have from pre 2010 waves:))
The Marauders Map one is awesome. There's so much whimsy packed into that small package. I'm so excited to cover those 2004 sets!
shoutout to Stephen for keeping his gilderoy so we could eventually buy it from him lol
love seeing the collabs in big revisiting videos like this! really exemplifies the community aspect of waves like this
thanks Stephen you're a real one
Always love long retrospective videos, very well made!
Just wanna mention that Goyle did appear in 2011 in the only pre-2018 set I own from the theme😉
Thank you! Can't believe I forgot about him. That set is honestly filled with all sorts of unusual characters!
@@CheeseyStudios agree
As a kid I loved Harry Potter, and the first two movies are still by far my favourites. The other movies never managed to enchant me. I would pine looking at pictures of this whole set shown at the end of Garfield magazines. In the end I never got any of them, my only ever Harry Potter Legos being exclusively from Goblet of Fire. Just hearing that iconic tune makes me feel nostalgic. Love watching your videos, it takes me back to a time where I'd have tons of fun building whatever from all the pieces collected.
Really glad you enjoy these! Excited to get to the Goblet of Fire sets eventually :)
Ah yes, Uncle Vernon’s table with the sorcerer’s stone, resurrection stone, and Luke Skywalker’s backpack 😂
Classic Vernon behavior 🤣
What great timing. I just bought two different partial sets (one is an alt build from the directions) and a Lockhart
Both Lockharts are such awesome figures
Still wild to me that Lucius Malfoy went to pilot school after visiting Knockturn Alley and now owns a Desert Biplane
Talk about turning your life around 🤣
I honestly love the unique magical creatures from this wave of sets, while I never personally got the originals I did manage to get Fawkes and the Basilisk from Bricks and Minifigs. My version of this Basilisk is also missing the glow in the dark fangs when I got it, they substituted them for the silver chrome daggers, which I thought looks really cool.
It's almost like he's had some dental work done 🤣
This is by far my favourite series on RUclips!
Love to hear it - thank you! I absolutely love making these kinds of videos too
49:03 Yoo we had da brain piece from the studio set growing up i love that piece!!
Ayyy nice! It's so cool 😂
Hi Cheesey, what would be the best place to send you a picture of the stickers for the Quiddich tower? Great video as usual! :)
👀👀👀 Instagram! I'm @CheeseyStudios
These sets are amazing. I love the Slytherin house and the Basilisk. This is a truly great line
Right? I just love how complete it feels too. It covers every aspect of the movie!
The blockiness of Fawkes now reminds me most of those old-style dragons from the medieval themes. But yeah, back in those days I thought it was a Duplo element 😅
It's sooo weird, isn't it? 😂
A long cheesey studios video?! yippie I can watch this in chunks :)
I've never even touched Harry Potter sets yet I love the classic look
It's such a vibe! I'll forever miss this style, as it's very much what I grew up on
I have a distinct memory getting the spider set on my birthday - my family thought it would be fun to play football outside, and as a kid who wasnt into sports this felt like an afront to what I thought was my celebration, so I went to my room and built this set instead… the things you remember!
The chamber of secrets themselves was always a big desired set that wasnt in the cards for me as a kid. I am hoping one day we get a big +18 esc display with the buildable head & proper justice for the basilisk. It is, truly epic, and as a kid whats cooler than a giant snake?!
An 18+ Chamber of Secrets feels like a no-brainer! That could be truly incredible, and it wouldn't even have to be anywhere near $400 or whatever.
@@CheeseyStudios You could probably do it proper justice with 200 - the head, the serpent & base with the water and surrounding area, with Harry, Tom & Ginny… and faux(?) of course!
Really nice and nostalgic video❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Great video! I believe that everybody’s favorite gungan, Jar Jar Binks was the first Lego molded head in 1999.
Early Star Wars and Harry Potter sure broke a lot of new ground for minifigures!
Dumbledore's office is the only set from the Chamber of Secrets wave that I own. I remember being so excited to buy it with money I'd saved up over birthdays, Christmas, and grandparent visits. It's also one of the sets my siblings and I owned which had part of the instructions or the whole instruction booklet disappear. (Note: a shoebox or small plastic bin in which all of your Lego instructions are stuffed into is an absolutely terrible way to store them and did not help this.) All these years later and I still suspect my youngest sibling as the culprit, but I don't think I'll ever know the truth.
That set is such a good one. Glad you got to experience it for yourself, too!
A cool part about the Chamber of Secrets is that it can hinge closed to an actual hallway with the walls enclosing the rest of the plates. Those gray paths become one gray path in the middle leading to the statue. I still find it very cool!
Also, if you don't mind seeing some gaps and some accesories, the chamber could work if you turn it around and have the back face the front as an outside wall.
That's so true! It's so cool to see how easily that single set could be reconfigured in a variety of ways
can't wait for part 3!
That's gonna be such a fun one!
38:05 🤓snaked face
31:42 That is such a cool extra build
48:15 Glad these arent needed for the phantom moc lol
I gotta stop using rare pieces in the custom mobs 🤣
I agree completely about your point about playability trumping displayability any day with LEGO. I feel like that's a huge part of what's missing from the essence of LEGO these days.
Exactly. It's a pity, because sets these days just aren't as fun.
Was waiting for this vid sm! As a child I loved the chamber of secrets and desperately wanted the big ‘chamber of secrets’ set and even from an age of 5 man oh man I wanted that awesome sand red Lockhart. I Also vividly remember the 4731 Instructions and stealing my dad’s original luke skywalker hair to match the instructions 😂. Anywho great vid, reminds me of your original chamber of secrets review which brought me to Cheesey Studios!
lol! I hadn't even thought about how a bunch of kids probably thought their set included the wrong hairpiece...
I've lost touch with an old friend of mine, but he had a pretty great Harry Potter collection, and he did have the whole Hogwarts over the Chamber of Secrets setup, and it was really cool to see. I wonder if he still has all those old sets and if he still wants them. I don't really have room for donations at this time, but I wouldn't say no. XD
Definitely can't turn these ones down if the chance comes by 😂 They're such fun sets
I remember in the Lego Indiana Jones video game, in the Well of Souls level, you would have to face off with the Bassilisk.
I've gotta play that one again - it's been too long 😭
I cant wait for the next installment! 😊
Next part will be so much fun. Lots of awesome sets and parts in wave 3!
to be fair to the knife teeth I'm like 90% certain that was for the play feature of having a lego harry hold one of the fangs to stab the book like he does in the movie
Yeah, exactly. I would love to own those parts one day...
Seeing these retail prices for the amount you got in these sets back in the day has me salivating. I know there's inflation and all to consider, but still. Three exclusive minifigures in a $13/£10 set is absolutely mind-boggling by today's standards.
It was such a different vibe! Ah, I miss it too
Despite me being a screen accuracy fan, there's a real charm to these older sets.
All the colourful pieces and prints really amp up the magical nature of the theme. Plus, the sand red Lockhart is stunning.
Really enjoyed the cameos from other Lego-tubers, especially Holly, who also does excellent Lego HP coverage.
It'd be so great to see sand red return. I do feel there's a place for it in the current palette, and there's so much potential there...
Hour long Cheesy vid, today is a good day!

Hey great video. Somewhat new sub here. Can you review the new olivanders set and compare it to the older diagon alley
I'll see what I can do! It's a lovely set. The new wands are especially great
Finally I've been waiting for this

The Chamber of Secrets original sets for me are the best of the early Harry Potter sets
They're sooo good. Lots of fun, lots of secrets, and some of them even look halfway decent too!
I have the Aragog set. There are two alt builds shown on the back of the box.
👀 Man, I wish I had these boxes!
ok I'll bite - I've been watching your videos for a while and something I've always wondered - how can a minifigure from these old sets you review be sold as "new"? I've seen this on bricklink as well where you can buy a minifig "new" where you obviously have to open a set to access the fig, making it no longer new. What do you classify as "new" for a minifig? and just for my curiosity, do you include shipping in your price estimates? (if not, it would be a welcome edition to get a better idea of realistic out of pocket prices for these things)
All good questions! To be classified as a new figure, it has to be taken directly from a new sealed set and stored away. The set can't have ever been put together, and most sellers will sell their new figures disassembled even. My estimates are without shipping, as it varies drastically depending on where you live and who you're buying from. Many sellers offer free shipping above a threshold, others will charge $50 or more depending on the size of the set. If you're based on the US and ordering domestically, I can give you an idea of what I've come to expect: $10 for a small sealed set, $20-$25 for a medium-sized sealed set, $40+ for larger sealed sets. Hope that helps a bit!
The only ones I don't have is Slytherin, Dueling Club and Quidditch. I think the Chamber was so much better in that size than teh most recent. And I LOVED Dumbledore's Office.
Bigger is sometimes just better! It made it feel more real.
Now that I watched this video, I realized that Lego never made a Madame Hooch minifigure for today's Harry Potter sets. 🤔
There's been two new ones since the 2018 reboot! They're both quite nice. I'd send a link, but can't get to Brickset atm
@16:20 I’ve seen the hufflepuff and ravenclaw tower on eBay a few years ago but the stickers were peeling so I didn’t want to pay 75 for one. I had screen shots on an old phone that I’ll try to find
Someone actually sent me scans of the sticker sheet just a few days ago! Super weird piece of LEGO history.
@@CheeseyStudios that’s so cool since so many people have been looking for them
Lockhart's green vest is supposed to have gold printing on it. Looks like it completely faded?
He's a very well-loved figure!
Sand red! Alert alert! Sand red!
It's so beautiful 😩 I miss it every day
7:00 I've never liked the suggested combination for these sets. Too much has to be removed from the top of the bathroom set which also should be above the Slytherin set, since that is located in the dungeons. Lego must have paired these two together since they both feature the flat baseplates, instead of the 1-stud-high ones in the rest of that Hogwarts line.
Yeah, it's a weird one. I realize the small size kept the cost down, but I would have much preferred the standard brick bases!

Ahhhhh
6:10 I didn't know until this video that Goyle was in the 2011 set 4867 Hogwarts. I've seen the figure and thought he was an unnamed Slytherin student.
The 2021 set 76386 Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake was a great return to this set and an addition to modern Hogwarts in the process.
I always forget about that 2011 set too. There's quite a few interesting and unexpected characters there!
Ashnflash jumpscared me
🤣
Ahhh ashnflash jumpscare lol
So many people have said this it's hilarious lolol
I always likened the chrome gold coin sprue as a snitch because it sorta looked that way
That's actually a really clever use for that!
I must admit that im not that interested in harry potter, ive only watched halfway through the movie series as a kid, but i have been enjoying these videos very much. I watched them back to back, im not sure if its because its old school lego or because i remember key moments/characters from like over a decade ago.
Well hey, I'm just glad you're enjoying! There is a special charm about this building style, regardless of the theme.
52 minutes, thats crazy. I like longer video's. But the short ones are also perfect
The longer ones are always fun :) There's just so much to cover from these Harry Potter waves!
Hogwarts: Legacy made me fall back in love with this franchise. I bought it a month ago and it took me until a few days ago to 100% it. I loved it.
Now I'm rewatching the movies, currently Chamber Of Secrets. I'm taking a snack break and thought this would be perfect.
I really need to try that game out. I've heard so many good things!
Im just curious do you own any fantasy era sets just curious cause in my opinion fantasy era is the best castle theme next to classic castle
I will be Revisiting those sets one day 👀
It's a shame my first Harry Potter set was in 2022, I missed on many of these fun sets.
While I think the Chamber of Secrets is impressive, I have to say I like Dumbledore's office more! It's somewhat similar to the Lord Vampyre Castle from LEGO Monster Hunters, which I have n_n Really it just have many fun gimmicks n.n Would you do a video showing the alternate buildings of that set in particular? I think it's rare to find videos about alternate buildings from older sets.
I'd love to at some point! That'd be a lot of fun to do honestly. Hopefully I can find the time 🤞
