    I think work benches like to destroy perfectly good parts, I did the head gasket on my kx250f the rings were perfect then when I put it back together it only had 30 psi of compression and rings were shot lol

    Hi Peter ! What grit can i use for honing a cylinder ? you use a 320 grit but i only find a 180 grit for a 96mm cylinder. Can i use it ? Thanks a lot !!

    • @restoroosterohv
      @restoroosterohv  Месяц назад

      No, 180 is far too coarse.

      @@restoroosterohv I'm not in USA, my Amazon is different. I only find 240 grit in my diameter. Too coarse?

      @@juju-of2by Go lightly with a 240 grit. Us plenty of oil to lubricate the walls

    It's always that same bearing that's bad on the YZ250F transmissions. Where do you order that KOYO bearing with the seals on both sides? I've always replaced them with OEM, but have had good luck with KOYO in other spots.

      I’ve had to replace it in every bottom end build because it is binding. I purchase them from eBay. Here is the link www.ebay.com/itm/163734036258?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=4qcIU-gFTJm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=K8gv8TS9R3W&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
      If you’ve got a micrometer or caliper, you can measure the outside and inside diameters and the width, punch those numbers in and find aftermarket bearings for almost all applications.

    Just a friendly reminder to anyone who's wanting to have their bike worked on, whether it be at a shop or a friends garage... at least have the decency to wash your dang bike first.
