- A 1976 Chevrolet El Camino SS I shot at the spring Pigeon Forge Rod Run...May not be the coolest El Camino SS.....This is a nice one for sure....Check it out!!!....Make sure you follow me so that you don't miss any of the other cool cars I shot at this show!
My apparel provided by:
www.etmotorgear...
Check them out!!
I don't have a external mic...I appreciate your support....do the best I can with what I have...
My 1976 SS Elky was a Florida survivor with 71K, swivel buckets, his/her factory floor shift, PW/PDL/Int Wipers, Wilt, Cruise, 8 track, Power ant, Map lights in mirror, 400 SBC with factory 4bbl, posi, and factory tonneau w/dealer installed side rails, and it still blew cold A/C when I got it. A real survivor of a truck. Sadly, as with many I've owned, it went bye bye. There's times when I miss my old cars and trucks, so I come to the Tube to see similar cars and revive my memories of each. Great job as always ScottieD
+ZippoVarga Glad you enjoyed it Brother....Didn't mean to make you sad...lol
Didn't make me sad really..just brought back good memories! Thanks for all the excellent car vids you do!! Cheers!! Zip~
ZippoVarga My pleasure Brother...Glad you enjoy them!
No problem Brother...glad you enjoyed it....
No problem....glad you enjoy them!!
Your welcome. And thank you for all the great cars you bring us.
No problem...glad you enjoyed it!
Will do!
I agree...that's what caught my eye!!
Ya....I don't know the market....but I agree 69-72...cowl inducted....is the way to go!
Cool...I would say I am a fan....but I am a fan of a nice straight car....this is just a very straight car...
My dad had a 76 cola brown with a white topper on it; we took it to Panama City Beach FL from Louisville KY when I was like 12. He let me ride in the back with a mattress and all my car mags, cooler of cokes, chips. That was the damn best way to roll back in those days.
This car is in great shape. Not to be a jerk, I have a 76 SS (with the original build sheet). But there is a lot of things odd about this "SS". I'm pretty sure that this is a "Classic" not an SS. Do they have the build sheet? Just for starters, grill tags are in wrong place, trim is missing, seats are wrong.... dash tags are wrong. Looks like a classic with SS tags.
MAN THATS CLEAN AS A WHISTLE
a buddy of mine had one waaay back in the day...I always thought it was just a cool ride! This one looks nice, straight, and clean! Fun for someone! Thanks for bringing it to us!
I had a 79 Monte Carlo and that is the exact same kind of AC compressor in the El Camino...that thing was a beast!
lol..I hear ya...this is not the best year...but it sure is clean...
Another show you should consider for next year, Frankenmuth Autofest, this weekend. Over 3000 cars are registered, with a couple thousand more expected to be unregistered. Its northeast of Flint. Has grown every year in its 30 year history.
I thought they did...I seen one in Chattanooga when the power tour was there
lol..I hear ya...it was just so clean...cool is cool....I thought this one was cool!
No problem....Not my favorite year.....but this one just caught my eye...
Glad you liked it!!
lol...it probably was the same compressor...big old heavy cars.....I would have loved to see you cruising that!!
Sweet Elky. With 77,000 miles that car is cherry. Yes I am a fan of them. :-)
It's all good. I won't stop watching just because of some wind noise. Just thought maybe I could help. Excellent channel!
I like them body style El Caminos ( I have a 1977 Elco Im doing a build up on now)
Personally, I like this body style of the El Camino, but with the single round headlights. And they do still make these kind if vehicles in Australia. They use a Holden Monaro, a Pontiac G8 to us, as the basis. And they do make a hot one with the Vette motor.
Thanks Brother....not the best year...but man is it clean!
First 76 SS i've seen since i got mine. Mine can be had for half that. Original motor and trans. 87,600 miles plus power windows, locks, and seat. Love the look on this one. I went so far as to have the original Borg Warner clock sent off and rebuilt. No quartz look alike for my baby.Plus i have the original caps and trim rings. Price them babies out and see what you get.Four new Cooper Cobras since they don't make Eagle STs anymore.
Cool..thanks for checking this one out here!!
Scotty, the el camino is nice but I love the white C10 next to it. I love the truck!
No problem....they have plenty on rear wheel drive platforms they could use...think...Caddy...they make them in Australia
76 El Camino! Must have been a slow day!!!
The thought makes me smile Brother...lol
The Chevy El Caminos and Ford Rancheros were cool vehicles!
Not bad looking...just like the earlier one a little better...
They were...the first kinda cross over...
Cool...I was born and raised in Toledo...might check that out...I need to hit WoodWord to
They are going to make them in like Australia...the Camaro front end...
Wow...thanks for the information!
You could be proud to pull up anywhere in it!
lol..I hear ya....they may!
Cool....thanks for checking this one out here!!
I really don't think GM could muster up enough nerve to ever produce another one of those again. On the other hand, if FOMOCO produces another Edsel, then an El Camino might become a hot item.
Cool!!
Well good luck with that Brother!
lol..Thanks!
I think it would be hard to find a nicer one....
Nice find Scottie
No kidding...I didn't know about the Ford...
The earlier Chevelle front ends were my favorite on these. They kinda lost something after 72. I had a 71 SS my senior year in H.S. Awesome car when I wasn't ringing the u joints out of it.
Agreed!
Down under, they call them "Utes". They didn't stop making them when we did. Production has continued. But I did hear that Ford announced it was going to stop all production in Australia, and import everything there. Sucks for the Aussies. The only domestic productoon car for them will be Holden (GM).
I hear ya...I didn't get that one...sorry..
lol...sounds like fun!
Love your videos so please don't take this the wrong way, only meant as a helpful suggestion. Buy a cheap windscreen for the mic on your camera. Those of us with big sound systems on our PC's will appreciate that.
Again LOVE the videos and keep'em coming!
I like that one! :)
You have a nice car 1976
Glad You liked it!!
lol..I appreciate it!!
wouldn't say....
I saw this same car at the forge, I thought it was the coolest one there.
Cool..thanks for checking it out here!
Scottie, if you run across a 99 Trans Am please do a vid for me.
Super Sweet SS Scottie!
Thank You for sharing with Us
Keep Up the Good Work Man!
Later
Russ
if Chevy does bring this back that only means they would have to make them rear wheel drive or nothing and what body would they use being the El Caminos ran off the Chevelle and the Malibu body man Scottie you got me thinking hard on this i need to right the Chevy dealers on this lol sorry for ramberling on
Reuse the malibu bust redesign of the new camero maybe.
They were gonna brong it here... then they closed Pontiacs doors for good, stopping that idea. Ford sells one based on their Falcon down there too.
$18,000 for that!!! It better come with a lufe time of happy endings lol
Cool...maybe one day I will be able to afford better equipment..
Yeah, I was stylin with my ray bans and playing Twisted Sister in my cassette player...lol
CL has Chevelles for $12k
So a post muscle car era El Camino is not going to get $18k. IMHO the good years are 68'-72
We think they are high over here...lol...maybe we need to do some business....
I can only hope they keep them down under. Do you suppose they will have an Edsel rear end? Hehehehe!!!!!!
I doubt it does...this was into the worse years in American Automotive History....
good bravo!
ERIC ST-LAURENT Thank you!
Wow
Right on!
I have one of these that im restoring its a 73 tho
Cool...Good luck with it...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
