- Simplify Your Golf Simulator Setup: My GSPro Tablet Control Box Build! My Custom setup is available and shared for free at GameGlass. This is basically a Command Center for GSPro
In this video, I share another DIY solution for controlling your golf simulator using a tablet! I’ve previously demonstrated hip-mounted control boxes and iPad Stream Deck configurations, but today we’re exploring a new method that’s easy, customizable, and completely FREE. This solution works perfectly with GSPro and can be set up to fit your simulator needs. I'll guide you through the process, from installing the software to configuring buttons for hotkeys. I'm using GameGlass for this setup. Plus, I'm making my custom setup available for download on GameGlass. If you're looking for a streamlined way to control your golf simulator, this is the video for you.
See shared code below! ENJOY!

I shared my custom configuration code at GameGlass. If that style works for your setup, you can use the code in the description and download the exact setup that you see in my Sim room. If you have new button suggestions let me know and I can edit at any time. Thanks for watching!
1/14/25 ***UPDATE*** Arrow keys (Up-Down-Left-Right) for aiming now function correctly with on Hold option. Hold arrows for continuous movement, then tap to stop. Double tap for incremental movements.

With the arrow buttons work within GSPro selections besides moving left/right, also is there any mouse pointer functionality? Right now I mirror an ipad tablet to my GSPro screen using Weylus which is a free Github project. This way for ex, I can control everything from the ipad versus walking over to the PC keyboard/mouse all the time. During a scramble when you have to select between the shot choices, I wonder if the arrows on your setup would work, also is there an Enter button option to select?
@@Porterplexgood point on the scramble topic. I didn’t even think about that, I need that also. I know there are mouse options, we can probably add that and if so then just add the enter button. I’ll go check it out and follow up.
Mouse clicks are an option but I don't see any way to use the actual pointer in conjunction with it. Also, in GSPro the arrows are designated to the left/right aim - up/down. Not sure how you would be able to navigate that, from what I can see there aren't any keyboard shortcuts for mouse movement available in GSPro. Considering this is all mapped from just the keyboard it doesn't look like it. I'm thinking I'll just add a wireless Trackball and mount it next to the iPad for when playing Scrambles. Either that or one of those Finger Ring Mouse wireless presentation clickers. amzn.to/3Wdpj4B
Awesome! Thank you
Thanks, just started playing with it!
I use it. It is a fantastic setup and configuration! Thank you so much for sharing!! love it!
@@deantondreau5402 You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
Damn I love this, going to turn an old Dell Rugged Extreme tablet into a control box now. Thanks for this!
Thank you so much !!!! Great Video you saved me $300 dollars i was planning on purchasing control box. But now i can used my IPAD. i have follow your instruction with no issues. Thank you so much!!!!
Glad it worked out for you, thanks for watching!

This is amazing! Recently discovered your channel and love your content. I will definitely give this a try!
Thanks, this one works great… if you need any help feel free to ask. Thanks for watching, appreciate it!
Wow this is a great tutorial. Thank you!!
Great stuff! I built (and prefer) one of the mini keyboard ones for myself but this is great for when I have guests over.
Agree, I use a small mini and have it attached to my belt when I’m alone. I did a video on that several months ago, works great! This iPad setup is great for scrambles and multiplayer rounds. Thanks for watching.
Love this. Just tried it but having an issue where if I tap an arrow the marker just starts moving and tapping it doesnt stop it always. Any ideas?
@@JoeTamburro Holding the arrow it should continue until you release and then just tap it once to stop That’s giving you issues? It’s seems to be working fine here. I’ll go in and see if adjusting the on hold delay will help. Any adjustments I make will auto update on your end.
Going to try this out! This is awesome and will make my setup even better! Thanks for the video!
@@dontgiveuptheshippc awesome! You’re right, that’ll work out great in your space! Thanks
This is great thanks! I previously setup my stream deck mobile app following your other video but having the buttons I need split out on multiple pages seemed a little annoying. I did make a couple tweaks for my own personal preference. For me trying to move the aim larger distances is a bit clunky with GameGlass due to its lack of press, hold and release action ability. To get around this I added a double tap option on the aim buttons with a press then a delay of 200ms and a release. I also did the same on a hold with a trigger of 500ms and set the delay to 500ms. Now I can short press an aim button and get micro movements or double tap to get a medium movement and hold to make big adjustments. I also inverted the club up/down action events because my brain sees club up and thinks longer distance and vice versa. Works great thanks again!
Excellent! Thanks for sharing that! I agree, moving longer distances is key without having to constantly tap. I'll make those same adjustments on my shard so it updates on the shares too. Thank you again, appreciate it!
I have a Microsoft surface pro
Do you think I could use that to control GS pro running on my gaming computer?
Yes it will work with the Surface Pro. It will work with the free version of the app as well. If you decide you want more features or decide to build your own, use this link and they will give you a discount on any paid versions if you decide on that. gameglass.gg/bogeysbackyardgolf
Just what I’ve been looking for. Can’t thank you enough. Question: anyway to incorporate a small mouse pad on it for when you have to select drop ball for shots that go into hazards?
@@michaelcummings1117 I’ve found using a small handheld trackball works best for drops and also when playing scrambles etc… selecting shots. GameGlass app doesn’t appear to have mouse movements as a keybind option at the moment, only clicks. If it does get an update I’ll add that into this shard. I’ve also ordered a hardware attachment for the tablet that I will be working on and sharing soon. Thanks for watching.
This is legit. Thank you!
Do you have to have the desktop version open when using a phone to control gspro?
@@CNote3350 yes the desktop app needs to be open. I just minimize it in the background.
@ awesome. Thank you! Going to do this tomorrow!! Going to be a nice upgrade to my simulator
@@CNote3350 I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, so far it’s been a hit in my room. We started our SGT Clubs league last week and it’s been a great addition. Thanks for watching!
I used your directions and built my own (very similar), because I couldn’t figure out how to use your shared build. Maybe you could add how to do that? Anyway, for the arrows I have to press them repeatedly to get it to move a farther distance in aiming. Is there a “hold button” function that will keep moving until I release the button? Thanks
@@dennismossner2696 I just corrected the arrows. Hold and then tap to stop it from moving.
@@dennismossner2696 oh okay then that won’t work if you made your own. If you download mine again you’ll now see the changes for keybinds. Added double tap and on hold options which fix the issue. Then you can set yours to the same.
Thanks to @tyjohnson6908 for the tip!
I just setup my mini keyboard, and now I see this?? 🤦♂️ lol
Now I’m off to set this up
Haha..Always good to have a backup plan! Thanks for watching
Does this require a shared wifi connection? Is there any other way to link the ipad setup and computer other than wifi?
@@jaredwiesen2547 depending on what model iPad you have, you can connect the iPad directly to your network using either a lightning to Ethernet adapter or USB-C to Ethernet adapter.
Will this work with just a $100 Android Tablet from Amazon? This is great and a much cheaper/cleaner option to the button boxes.
As long as it’s Android compatible it should work.
@@BogeysBackyardGolf Much appreciated!
You did a similar video using the stream deck software. Any pros or cons between these two programs? Which one will you be using?
Very similar, both do the same job for configuring GSPro controls. With the Streamdeck you have limited buttons, only 6 and then you have to pay the subscription for more. Whereas with this one has no limits. The Streamdeck keys are simple square buttons, completely different look & feel. Streamdeck is made by Elgato - well known tech company and it has way more capabilities than this app. You can control different apps, lighting, music, it's really made for content creators. I personally would stick with GameGlass for just GSPro unless you want a multifunction solution to control your entire environment then the Streamdeck might be a better option.
Once downloaded, is it simply a matter of plugging in the iPad to the computer via USB?
@@beantownmarketing the iPad just needs to be on the same network as your PC. No USB plugin or anything like that. I just have my iPad power cord plugged in. It’s all WiFi.
@@BogeysBackyardGolf Thank you
Dont mean to be dumb but . . . I have it installed on my ipad, as well as on the pc, both running on the same network, but nothing's working. Logged in to my account on both devices. Is there a difference between "Hub" and "Host" for GameGlass? The ipad asked me to "Retry" to connect to host, so i restarted, logged in again, pressed "Retry" on the ipad and same issue. Nuttin. Seems a few people are struggling with this, which is a shame because its a BRILLIANT solution for my needs! Any thoughts, or directions to another video would be awesome. Thanks so much for putting this together and making it available.
@@timwebster2348 once you have the hub open on your PC, you just need to open the shard. Once that’s open, then open it on the iPad. The shard on the PC will look exactly like it on the iPad.
Hi this is great! Will your shared configuration work with the free version of Gameglass?
Yes it will work with the free version.
Shared Configuration?
@Porterplex the shared code for my configuration is in the description. You can use the code to download the version I created if that style works for you.
For some reason I can't login to the app on the iPad I plan to use, says Invalid verification strategy. I have the app downloaded on the PC, logged in with my Google account, even added your prebuilt shard. Says I'm logged into account on PC, but for some reason won't let me login to iPad. Will keep playing with it....
@@Porterplex make sure you have it open in the PC. Not just the Hub, open the library and then click on my design. That needs to be open. Let me know if you get it.
Once that’s open you’ll be able to login on the iPad.
@@BogeysBackyardGolf So what gets downloaded appears to be the Hub on the PC. Up front it gave me the option to login with Google account. I clicked on library, selected your shard which opens. On the right it says Edit, which I assume I don't need to do that. When I launch the app on the iPad I downloaded from the Store, it prompts me to login which for whatever reason is not working.
I never actually had to create an account, just login with Google, is that the issue? The hub shows me logged in at the top.
@@Porterplex yes your Google account will log you in as an option. Did you get in?
So this wont work i guess on Android tablets
Yes it will, you would just select the Android app rather than IOS.
@BogeysBackyardGolf ahh I only see option for Windows, Linux or IOS on the gameglass link you posted
Nvm I see that needs to be on windows and then on tablet. I'll follow directions better..lmao
How does this compare to air keyboard? I have a full (almost) layout for GSPro on there. Is this any better? Can you configure a touchpad and mouse buttons with this one?
ruclips.net/video/6s5QVTc_U4k/видео.htmlsi=2G3p3kDTJk2oqbRH
Very similar, I personally just like the look of the GameGlass software. I have about 5 different apps running the Air Keyboard style controls. For me, this one works best in my environment. You can map the entire layout on this one as well, I may add a few more buttons. The nice part is that once I do add it will auto update on any users that downloaded my shard. As for playing scrambles, and clicking I have a small handled that I just keep it my pocket or clipped next to the iPad. Adding the handheld is great because that completely eliminates having to go to the iPad after hitting your shot in team play.
@ cool. Yeah I custom made the air keyboard layout too and like how it has the trackpad functions. I can’t play without the iPad, just able to use every shortcut and controls. If you take a look at my layout you might get some ideas for yours in gameglass. I need to check it out and if it’s easy to make a layout I can re-do mine.
Does it have trackpad functionality?
@BoilerTimmay thanks, I’ll check it out. touchpads have always driven me crazy that’s why I prefer the trackball. I’m actually working on adding a joystick knob device that will latch onto the iPad, similar to what the control boxes have. I hope to have that figured out in a few days. I’ll post an update on it.
@ cool. I’ll stay tuned. I like the trackpad on the iPad for checking GSPro colliders, clicking on aiming, especially on the green, and selecting which shot to take in a scramble.
@@BoilerTimmay Just checked out one of your scrambles. I can see using the touchpad with your thumb is probably a lot better than even a mouse pointer and definitely more precise than the control box knobs. Less fidgety, stops on a dime when trying to get it right on the edge of the cup etc... Good stuff.
