    Man, thank you so much. I’ve been trying to figure out why all the Sabers look the same. Much appreciated!!

    Just getting into lightsabers, was going to buy official products and then dug into a lot of information in internet about greatness of 3rd parties. This cleared a lot of my confusion about different parts, names and prices. Priceless video!

      Sorry to be a dream wrecker, but I've just learned a hard lesson.
      I recently purchased a pair of sabers off of AliBaba, from the LGT store since they were a fair bit cheaper than Crimson Dawn or Vire Sabers. They work great, feel great, and are very amazing but need some customization
      So I ordered some parts from Crimson Dawn to compliment the new lightsabers.
      The parts don't fit. The LGT components, from LGT, are smaller than the Crimson Dawn parts. The male threads simply slide in and out of the female counterparts, and the outer diameter of the hilt pieces are noticably different. Buyers be warned, and don't repeat my mistake

      this is because since this video, there is another company called TXQ that is also doing the same thing. a lot of the companies are carrying sabers from both and the designs are very similar. It does complicate things.

    Thank you, greatly, for this video. I'm new...extremely new...to sabers (as in, I currently have only one - a Galaxy's Edge Darth Vader), and looking to get my first NeoPixel. Having looked at wow a few, from several different sellers, I suspected everyone you explained. When I say "suspected", I don't mean that in a 'negative' way...I mean it in an "I understand" way.
    I've been custom-building computers for people for 25+ years...and, in that time, having acquired components from countless 'manufacturers', one thing I've learned is that many of the parts (especially the 'inexpensive' ones coming from Chinese companies) actually come from the same OEMs, just having been branded with each sperate 'company' name. Today, we see this most often on Amazon, where dozens of 'sellers' can be selling the exact same item, yet each is listed as if being 'manufactured' by a different 'company'. It makes complete sense that a huge portion of the lightsabers are produced & sold in the exact same manner.

    Thanks for this video. LGT and their US-based resellers are a great starter for anyone who wants to get into collecting sabers. I own a few of them myself and I have no issues with them. Shipping from overseas is about 10-12 days via their main aliexpress shop. Their US resellers can take about a week or so, like Darkwolf or Rebel Sabers.

    Yes!!! I been researching these type of sabers for days. Trying to figure out why a bunch of saber stores are selling the same thing under different names. I bought my proffie board saber from CD, opened it up and it said Darkwolf, confused because they have their own proffie. From there, I googled these stores and more came out, like Vire sabers, outer rim sabers and others all over Amazon and Etsy. It led me to buying some parts to customize my saber lol, since CD only offered black and silver pommels and emmiters. Then there's Kyberlight which I own as well and who's product parts are very limited and not compatible with the LGT sabers.
    This is very important information for people who don't know about these sabers on the market. Like myself. Feels like a huge weight on my shoulder was lifted off by your force powers, Darth Cephalus. ✊🏼

    I ordered 2 from SabersPro and 2 from Darkwolf Sabers. Both pretty much LGT sellers but Darkwolf sent my one sabe in a nice box with combo lock latches.
    SabersPro was just a box with plastic lining not very sturdy lol.
    I have one from Saberforge coming next week. Which is 3 weeks from the order date. Hope it is good.

    Awesome vid. I ended up buying a neopixel/proffie saber from ali after another of your vids.
    A couple questions (hopefully they're not answered in videos I haven't seen yet):
    1) Any general advice to reduce the wear and tear on a neopixel saber? Such as how far down to seat the blade so I don't kill the connectors over time.
    2) Any suggestions for emitter sections that can recess or hold the blade better than most standard emitters (the ones that use the 2 m4 screws)? I use my lightsabers for full contact sport usage and the aliexpress emitters don't seem to hold the blade quite as tightly as the eco ultrasaber I bought.

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  3 года назад +2

      I would generally not recommend LGT or neopixel for people who do heavy dueling. the Ultrasabers beater is more the way to go. As for the pins, you want them all the way pressed. one thing you do not want to have happen is for the pins to lose connection or make a bad connection with the blade during use.

    Hi James, thank you for the clarification on LGT sabers, it was helpful. Do you happen to know if a Proffie saber core from LGT is capable of doing all the cool blade animations you see on other more high end sabers that may be equipped with a Proffie board, or are the LGT Proffie boards "locked" and nonconfigurable?

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  3 года назад

      Most of them yes. They did have a small run of misprinted Proffie boards once thar were locked, but any Proffie with the USB port can be configured.

    4:00 ARG that squeel!! shitty threads because shitty aluminum/zinc/nickel alloy in the heart of all their saber metal... Love em though :)

    • @oldb-1kenobi
      @oldb-1kenobi 3 года назад +3

      Metal on metal is always going to squeel and it's annoying but applying just the slightest amount of lubrication (wheel bearing grease works great) to the threads, followed by wiping it off, will solve that problem and it last a long time.
