    Damien and LGT Saber Studio is the same company.
    They are also partners with DarkWolf Sabers, here in the US.
    Nice overview, by the way. Thanks!!

      yea, I just get confused as to which one is the primary one they go by at any given point. The branding is confusing, when LGT is the main manufacturer, the manual says Damien Saber, and the board is stamped with Darkwolf. I generally just throw all the names out there to cover my bases.

    Love the video and information as always. Just wanted to make one quick observation for the RGBX baselit cores, you can actually find them as cheap as $25 US now which is just a steal in my mind.

    Ripper blades now has a built-in Neopixel TriCree converter that you can get. For example, I bought a Dark Saber V2 Golden Harvest Neopixel saber and I ordered a TriCree Ripper blade to fit into it. Vee at Ripperblades told me that the two would be compatible, their blade would be compatible with Golden Harvest, which is why I ordered it.

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  2 года назад

      yes. I think they bulk ordered some of those adapters I was talking about. I seem to recall they got the Saberbay/Warsabers version.

    • @bobtimster62
      @bobtimster62 2 года назад

      @@DarthCephalus Yes. They have them attached to the blades, unlike the Pach Store adaptors. Also, not all of those cores fit different sabers. For example, the Ahsoka Wars sabercore will not fit into the Ahsoka Shoto saber, both from Darkwolf, because the latter is smaller than the former and has no inhilt recharge port. I don't know whether the core for the Ahsoka Wars will fit into the Dark Saber. Although I have both, I haven't tried it, mainly because the Dark Saber is such a pain to disassemble and reassemble. (However, you did qualify your statement by saying "most".)

    Nice video! wish i saw this a few days ago. I was trying to figure out how to install a switch/emitter with back screw holes. ended up loosening it trying to hold it in with a thumb screw. XD I mean I got it in but, the screw is barely hanging on.

    Super helpful video. Thanks for this. While browsing around on Aliexpress, I also started to see some other companies advertising something called "SN pixel." I think it's produced by the parent company of TXQ. They appear to be the cheapest pixel sabers out there, but there's a catch.
    From what I have seen on the listing vids, it appears to have an individual sound font locked to a specific blade effect and color. There is no mixing and matching, which seems odd. We just ordered a complete kit with the hilt and blade for just over a hundred bucks just to see what it's all about. I'm suspecting that more than one preset will have odd blade effects or sounds and will be useless. I'm hoping for traditional effects and sounds for the blue, green, and red colors.

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  2 года назад

      that is a lot like the eco neopixel in the video. I have not reviewed TXQ but I think I will be doing so soon. My understanding is that they splintered from LGT though rather than being a parent company.

    I’d love a proffie board on a base lit core that would be my dream tbh all the customization and stuff for dueling

    • @adamduffield7782
      @adamduffield7782 2 года назад +1

      Well KR sabers do a neopixel to baselit plug, it converts a neopixel into a baselit with tri cree, so you can get a proffie board, do neopixel build, then use the plug to turn it into a baselit for heavy dueling, best of both 😉

  • @logan_nstuff

    Does the SaberTheory company use LGT cores too? I can't find any reviews actually showing the core in their sabers but it has all the same fonts and effects that the LGT cores come standard with in their Xenopixel core which leads me to think they are the same...but I can't find anything to confirm that. Can anyone help confirm if they're the same or not?

  • @darthmocap

    Seeing all of the cores I see the light is usually housed inside the plastic body. I have a pre built Vader replica saber that has a black core section but the light is actually attached to the body with a long electric cable. Still trying to figure out who made it so I can fix it.

  • @billylacharity3443
    @billylacharity3443 2 года назад

    Looks like the cores are also different lengths. I need one for a Sabneo lightsaber, but the core seems short.

      yep, as long as they fit in the saber. they come in 1” and 7/8” diameter though, so as long as that part is correct, it will work.

    I like the ultrasabers- lightsabers because they look really well machined and style wise look great, but after looking into other companys it seems that there electronics are not up to date. How do you feel about ultrasabers for purchase ?

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  2 года назад

      I like them a lot for beater, dueling, or stunt sabers. in terms of their electronics, there are a lot better options, but the basic saber designs are big on utility.

      @@DarthCephalus after seeing the core systems you have showed, just surprised that ultrasabers hasnt converted to that system. I have a spare lgt base lit core but it has a USB c recharge port at the bottom and no standard recharge port next to the on switch it's just empty I was hoping I could buy some empty hills for dueling and put in the core but some hilts have holes for the standard recharge port so if I put my core in there it'd just have a big hole in the side of the saber now i dont necessarily have a problem with that its just not ideal I was wondering if anyone knew what hilts this type of core would work with

    How do I charge my LGT lightsaber without frying the board? I have a power strip that has USB plugs on it. Can I plug it into that to charge it or is that still too much power going into the battery and board?

    Mate you can use it but you have to dismantal the saber to remove the core every time you want to charge & it’s a pain in the ass

    • @DarthCephalus
      @DarthCephalus  Год назад

      sometimes yes. using a round charging port in a C type saber is the only one where that applies though. even then, some models unscrew in the middle and let you grab the battery without fully taking it apart
