A mind blowing adaptation of the original classic. As relevant today as it was back in the Eighties. Dare I say more so! V for Victory.. Now go tell your friends!!!!!
Listerned to this on Saturday and it is great looking forward to part 2 follows the live action v but modernised all the same characters but English. Hope they continue with a v the series or dc comic adaptions
Do not remake V. Start with it now(about 40 years later) and bring back Jane Badler(Diana) Marc Singer(Mike Donovon), Faye Grant(Dr Julie Parrish), Jeff Yagher(Kyle Bates), Jennifer Cooke(Elizabeth Maxwell) June Chadwick(Lydia) Robert Englund(Willie) Michael Ironside(Ham Tyler) Frank Ashmore(Philip) and Judson Scott (Lt James)
I haven't watched V since the 80's, but when I was a cub scout, it was the scariest, most intense, most adult thing I had ever seen...I don't think I saw that first episode. So part of my memory is coloured by recaps and part of it comes from the version that was relayed to me by my fellow pre-teens who stayed up late to watch it (I am a middle aged man now). I totally got the analogy at the time, but assumed that if it happened, I would be part of the resistance. It feels a lot scarier now when I think about the implications of a takeover like that, and I hope that I would live up to what 8 year me would have done. Not sure I agree with the conclusion about the Hulk movies. Both made a profit. Both were a bit meh...the Edward Norton one was a troubled production. So I don't know whether being more like the TV show would have improved things.
V was set all over the world. (although Los Angeles) was the focal point. There were Visitor Motherships over 50 cities(including London and Paris) not just Los Angeles! One of the V novels To Conquer The Throne is set in Britain. Another The Alien Sword Master in Japan. But only Marc Singer can play Mike, Faye Grant Julie and Jane Badler Diana. If you want to set it in Britain far enough. However make some new characters who form the London Resistance, not remake British versions of classic American Sci Fi characters! Make some new ones!
I'm guessing in the UK version the British government will be actively sending the disabled and unemployed to the visitors knowing they'll be food... 🤣
wasn't a big fan of the original, not because of the writing but because of the glossy american production values (having been brought up on shows like Dr Who and Blake's 7) i'm sure Big Finish will do this justice in a way i will enjoy!
@@fuccasound3897 British sci-fi shows like Doctor Who (especially) and Blake’s 7 have been quite eye-opening for me as to the most thoughtful ways that a sci-fi show can be made. Others that I’ve finally started getting into in this century like The Tomorrow People and Sapphire & Steel are opening my eyes even more.
@@mikebasil4832 so pleased to hear you are appreciating the British sci-fi style. Tomorrow People and Sapphire and Steel are two more of my favourites. Never mind the budgets being small. interesting and quality writing with a fair dose of humour more than make up for it IMHO. Big Finish have audio versions of both those shows too.

Have already begun listening to it. Enjoying it so far and it's terrifying how relevant this story is for our times.
Purchased two days ago and thoroughly enjoyed every episode. Bring on Part 2 in August 2025!

Finished listening to V yesterday. Great version of the 80s classic sci-fi show. And as they pointed out, a timely release
Any chance of getting Robert Englund (Willie in the original series) to make an appearance on mic?
That would be cool.
Big fan of V great interview can wait to listen to this ☕️ ❓️ ✨️

V is indeed still quite relevant now.
Amazing, this will be amazing.
Very appropriate show for the time, now.
When are we getting that v movie trilogy 🙏?

I just realised how much the fist episode sounds like The Claws of Axos. And that was made 10 years before...

Sad that Gareth Thomas and Paul Darrow isn’t around to play Mike Donovan and Ham Tyler.
That would be legendary.
@ The theme is close and the characters are just about the same. Especially Diana and Servalan!!!!
@@digipeeper Never really thought about it that way.
Lol they’re Brits
@@decadentdave and where is Big Finish located at??? BTW they are bringing the Invasion in the U.K.

This is Torchwood. Been there, done that
Should have just got Jane Badler. She would have been happy to return to the role.
I think actors would be persecuted as much as the scientists, because of their public role.
Which group would I fall under? Keep my head down and try to stay out of trouble. I fully admit to being a coward and self-preservationist.
Maybe the Labour Government will see themselves in this.
Why? This is such a stupid comment. The Tories brought in more legislation to stop people protesting, reform bring more misinformation
