This is super inspiring oh my goodness! I have been considering getting certified for horticulture online as well. And this video is really helping me give me that push! 😊 and you’re right, it’s never too late to go back-to-school! Thank you for sharing this
Good for you.! If I had room in my 65 yr old brain, I'd love to take classes, live and learn has served me well 😊 I've always thought it would be nice if we could all get a glimpse of who we are 20 yrs later, when we're 20. I learned a lot from my mom being an avid gardener, didn't realize that til I was older. I would appreciate whatever you'd like to share, I'm only on YT, so it's always nice when my YT friends share here too.
Go you. When I left school ( I am 58) I wanted to do Horticulture at the Polytech, but I was too scared ! cos I didn't know anything abt going to further education and I lacked confidence, so I got a job that was offered to me basically which I hated, and it was inside and I wanted to be outside , Now my kids have left home I am in love with gardening again, and would love to work in Horticulture. and would love to do a course. you are never to old to do one. I would love to know how to design a garden space..my son has a new garden and I am "designing" it 🤣🤣 It's actually harder than I thought. There is quite a lot to think abt, esp when he is a non gardener.
I might look into this. I checked out MSU's master gardener course and they have changed it to first requiring completion of their Foundations of Gardening course, which I would be happy to do BUT there is one weekly session for 2.5 hours that must be attended live (on zoom) but its smack dab in the middle of a work day - Tuesdays from 10 - 12:30 (which I find odd -- how do 9-5 ers do this??) . I was pretty bummed to see that.... mayne I will check this out because I want to take some courses.
That’s what I’ve found with a lot of classes too! They’re in the middle of a weekday. The college classes are more expensive but there is more flexibility in the program of working at your own pace.
Good for you getting your Horticulture certificate, expanding your horizon! You look beautiful with your big hat😊
Thank you so much! I just need to stop running into the door frame 😆
Can’t wait to hear what you learned from these classes! Sounds so much fun!
I’m excited to share what I learn!

It took my so long to get over the “I’m too old to do this” mentality. I can’t believe I was telling myself that in my 20s 😆
Congrats on going back to get your certificate!!

I’ll definitely share what I learn! It’s so fun I g thinking back to undergrad and knowing I never thought I’d end up here, but I’m so happy I have!
Yes, please share class updates on what you learn. Thanks!
Yay! I’ll definitely do that then!
It is awesome that you are getting this certificate. Your Marketing and Horticulture Certificate will serve you well in your RUclips Career.❤
It’s only been two weeks and I’ve already learned some new things to incorporate into my garden!
@@ChicagoGardener I hope you will consider sharing with us here on RUclips. I seldom visit Instagram. I have trouble figuring out how to use it.
I’ll definitely share here! I feel like it’s easier here too compared to IG.
It would be great to hear what you are learning! Thanks for thinking of your viewers🌿🌼
I’m excited to share! I’m wondering if most people will already know what I’m learning but I’m going to share either way 😆

That’s so exciting that you get to design your son’s garden!
its very small :) But he pays for all the pretty ( and very hardy, drought tolerant ) plants @@ChicagoGardener
Let me know if you ever post a photo or video of it!
Liking the new hat frames your face nicely.
Be glad you are going that route
I’m really excited! It’s so much fun taking classes on a topic you’re passionate about too!

How much are you paying per class? 1k?
Yeah, it’s about $400 per credit hour.
