Yes, yes, and yes! I have always LOVED Satie from the very first listen and also love to play it! The harmonics used are almost otherworldly and blend together into an emotional fusion that sinks right in through the skin and leaves a lasting impression on the heart and soul. For me, nothing like a cup of coffee and some Satie on a rainy day. You have found some exquisite and very masterfully performed footage Kim! Thank you! I love your channel :-) Big hugs, ~Jackie
Hey Jackie girl, I know that you love the music of Satie as much as I do, so I thought about you when I was making the video. I remember that you played and shared one or two of his pieces. I'd love to hear and watch you playing one of his Nocturne pieces. I love them, but there isn't really great performance videos of them on RUclips, except by one pianist. I know you would play them beautifully and your video editing will be great too. Thank you for being here and for the marvelous comment that I love!!
@@MelodiousHeart1 You're welcome, Kim! Oh yes...that's right...I did play a few a long time ago. I want to record more at some point or even re-record some of it. However, I do not like the Nocturnes at all. For me, there is just too much atonality that doesn't seem to resolve....my own personal thing. Thanks for the vote of confidence though. Much love and Happy New Year my wonderful friend :-) Hugs, ~Jackie
@@ClassicalJams It's interesting that you don't like Satie's Nocturnes at all, but I understand what you mean about atonality. I usually don't care for music with a lot of atonality, but I don't feel it much in Satie's Nocturnes. I especially love the No. 2. Happy New Year, Jackie, my beautiful and talented friend! :-)

Hello my dear Kim!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! ❄🎅⭐🎄❄I wish you success and prosperity!! Let this holiday bring to your life peace and well-being! ! Also I wish you bright mood, optimism and happiness !! Warm greetings, Natali!!!
Thank you dear Kim for this beautiful selection from the works of Satie, who occupied a unique position somewhere on the margins of the world of classical music. Although he is now known for just a small number of short, simple pieces, usually consisting of a slow single melodic line in even beats supported by alternating bass notes and chords, he was able to create an unmistakable and almost indefinable atmosphere which has captured the imagination of the listening public in an unprecedented way ! A powerful testament to the value of simplicity ! I hope the year has started well for you, and that it will continue in a happy and fruitful way ! With warmest greetings, Paul
You're welcome, and thank you very much for your deep, thoughtful, and outstanding review! I couldn't have written about the music of Satie as beautifully and expertly as you have written. The new year is starting very well for me, I hope it's the same for you, dear Paul. Wishing you a peaceful Sunday night and a great new week!
@@MelodiousHeart1 Welcome dear Kim ! I'm very happy that you are having a good year so far, and hope it will keep on getting better and better ! Warmest greetings, Paul
I owe so much to Satie - when I compose so many slow and simple pieces of music, I know people might accept them more because Satie already made it okay to enjoy this kind of music - anyway, a happy 2020 to you Kim and to everyone - a secret i rarely speak of is the visions of the future i have had since childhood - i realized early on it is unwise to be too different or to seem to have any special gifts - too much jealousy and cynicism in the world - but i will go out on a limb and say i know the world has dodged a huge bullet - and also that from 2020 and beyond the people of the world will be in for some very happy surprises
I agree that people are jealous and cynical and judgmental towards others who are different or have special gifts that they don't have. I'm happy to read your positive outlook and prediction for 2020! We need many very-happy surprises in this world. Your music does have similarity with the music of Satie. Thank you for the New Year wish and I also wish you a happy 2020! I look forward to your music in 2020, as abundant and beautiful as I enjoyed this year.

His music is considered eccentric, I honestly don't know how to interpret or appreciate the gymnopedies, other than being chill in feeling. I do love his Je te Veux
I don't think Satie's music is eccentric, but they are definitely different than any other classical music. I understand that you don't know how to appreciate Gymnopedies. Maybe someday you might come to appreciate them and even play them. Anything is possible. Thank you for watching and for the honest comment!
