This questline is worth it! You are at the mid/endgame stress point, where it gets overwhelming, but there is a light at the end. I make a habit of doing it late too and it's better to do early, but you can benefit from the mutoids
In my current playthrough, I didn't enable festering skies, because of all the play throughs I have watched, having 2 ships play killer pong with each other sounds exceedingly boring and stupid. The other DLCs, yeah bring it on. Maximum challenge go! LOL
I'm not crazy about the air combat, but I do think it's LOADS better than XCOM's air combat which is entirely dice rolls. As for the other DLCs, I'm liking them more as I get a handle on their mechanics, it's just that they throw a lot in and don't always explain themselves very well so I got a bit frustrated.
