Absolutely nailed it. As a young man who grew up and went through high school just before the advent of smart phones, Tik Tok, and a complete saturation of marketing with woke rhetoric I am so thankful that did not impact my formative years. The youth of today are in trouble and they don't even know it
Pat, this started a long, long time ago. My grandmother in 1995, when I was 8 talked about everything you covered in a different light. Of course we didn't have smart phones, but the foundation was laid already. The destruction of healthy values and self discipline had begun. What we are seeing now is the mental illness in youth in application. They have engineered a population easy to control, and less tolerant of discomfort.
Yep and personally I want nothing to do with these people on the other side, cancel culture, anti masculinity, moral outrage. Lazy people, boring people, bored people. I want nothing to do with them, I dont even want them looking at me nevermind speaking to me(at me). Thank God I was insipired to walk out from so called civilized society. For any youngsters or guys in their 20s, know this, money is the divide. Get some cash and get the F out of the cities/suburbs.
How about mentioning that the people have been incredibly poisoned since the 1970s, people can't will themselves to not be poisoned PFAS, Glyphosate/roundup, atrazine, heavy metals, bioplastics, bpa, EMF, etc
Woodrow Wilson and the “powers that be” negotiated the sellout of the United States in 1913 when he signed the federal reserve act. Go and read quotes from Bernays, Woodrow Wilson, etc. They believe they deserve to rule over us and that’s why all of the presidents are from the same bloodline. They want to bring about the beast system and the anti messiah.
Pat and I talked about this at a class a few years ago. I brought up the commercial that was running at the time where 2 teenage boys were stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and almost in tears because their mom's insurance didn't have roadside assistance and neither of them knew what a lug wrench was. We have multiple generations now that have been raised by "parents" that I wouldn't let watch my dog. Without exposure to better role models, these new generations will be our downfall. Men are free today to be weak, inept, and afraid in ways their ancestors were not.
One of the things that made me fall in love with my wife was going over to pick her up one Saturday in high school, when she was 16, and finding her changing the oil in her father's car. She knew I was coming over, but went ahead and did it herself, because that was one of her jobs at the house.
The younger generations you're talking about are also the first to live in a worse off country and have less opportunity than their parents since the founding of the country! So where's YOUR responsibility in this? Why didn't you at least pass on what you were given? I'm so sick and tired of older generations saying millennials and younger are weak and lazy and so on when it's YOU'RE generations responsibility to raise these people. More destruction has happened under the control of the boomer generation than any other! Take some ownership in the fact that you most likely failed your children and left them worse off than you were by your parents!
@@ShootingUtah , actually when I die, my millennial children will inherit enough money, that most of their or my mistakes won't have mattered. When my father died I inherited a 15-year-old Bronco.
I’m 33 and 3 kids. I raise my children outside, no tv (except educational tv [dvd’s]), homeschool, know how to hunt, fish, use imagination, and if they can’t have something because it’s to expensive, they make it. Oh and raise them with thanks and praise to God. There are many like us where I live. There is still hope.
Not enough though. American values died off a long time ago in the majority of Americans hearts. Of course it was strategic. The 60's were orchestrated. Yuri Bezmenov. Enough said.

I was born in ‘52. As a kid in the late 50’s and 60’s I and all my friends spent about 90% of our time outside even in rain and snow in the Midwest. It’s sad for me to watch what’s going on now.

I can remember when the most exciting entertainment device we had was a playing card and a clothespin, which we used to turn our bicycles into motorcycles.

It’s depressing as hell. I was born in 89’ and I wasn’t allowed to watch tv without my older brother or a parent. Didn’t get a cell phone until I was 18 (only for emergencies) I’m proud to say I appreciate growing up poor now. I love and see both of you guys passionately speaking about this insane problem.
This episode is freakin SOLID! I'm born in 82. I consider myself Gen X and Im sync with everything said here. I miss the simple days. My twins will not have a tablet or cell. Nothing but board games and chalkboards.
Divisions are being opened up everywhere, causing unrest and hate. Great talk, I remember many years ago, I had taken the kids to the rocks along the sea shore, this guy then turned up with his daughter, may be 5 years old, he got out the fishing rod and helped her put it in the water, he then went unfolded his beach chair and sat focussing on his tablet, no interaction with his daughter what so ever.
I've been following your content for years. You are my inspiration to join the military and never slow down. This video was one of the most badass videos you've ever made. Keep it up
At 57 years old, I still go outside for my entertainment. After 30 minutes of TV or less, I get so bored and have to go outside and find a project to work on. When we were kids, we went outside and played baseball at the park and rode bicycles till dark. I never see that stuff anymore.
ParMac is spot-on about the negatives of the influences kids are being exposed to these days. Kids are the foundations of our future as a country, a society, etc. I can only hope things will somehow turn out OK down the road.
Wow Pat. I thought that I was the only one with these same trains of thought you were discussing. Exactly the same. Its good to see normal people still exist.
How true that was about one tv in the house and it wasnt on all day long,i was born in 1954,and your absolutely right about the state of affairs donestically and globally, you the man sir
About 20 years ago the battery died on my daughters portable gameboy and we didn't have any AAs in the house. She declared that she was bored. I just happened to have *wait for it* a Folded Map of our town, (Azle Tx.). I said "Here... Read This." . I don't know how many years she entertained herself with it.
... first off if I may, I've been following you for a couple of years now and I've read your books and watch your videos, love them all, thank-u for this. When you mentioned the baby in the stroller with a tablet reminded me of another trend so to speak, I see mother's walking their babies and scrolling through their cell phones, it pisses me off to no extent. When I had my daughter out for a walk if it was on sidewalks she faced me and I talked to her all the time, if we were in a park she faced forward to enjoy the sites...and I still talked to her. Mind you that was 30 years ago and a the world has changed, but parenting shouldn't! Keep up the inspiring work. Thank-u!
I was born in '99 so I've grown up as the phone technology has just skyrocketed and when I was a child I used to think "Damn I wish I could have a phone too already" or whatever and my parents kept saying, "No, only once you reach highschool" and man am I so grateful they did. Coz I still actually ended up having a childhood, I loved playing in the garden, I loved building all kinds of stuff with my Lego out of my imagination since we couldn't afford the fancier toys all my friends had... And since leaving college, you really can tell who grew up alongside you with gaming consoles etc and who grew up in their gardens... So glad to have been exposed to the Basic Dude Stuff since early childhood via my dad and grandfathers!🤟
I’m 67. I babysat for a single mom today. Two boys, 10 and 12. They watched RUclips, a hosted video game of someone pushing people off cliffs, then laughs, men hitting women, more laughs, etc. They both have ADHD. No dad around. One is smart and understands, one just lives in the moment, making silly sounds, and asking silly questions. They brought their own food, popcorn, chips, and a hotdog to reheat.
This video is great, I'm 24 with a 4yo daughter and I'm just trying to do the best i can to give her a good childhood and cut the screen time out as a whole but I only have her part of the time. Her mother and I split bc there was a lack of respect and drug use I couldn't convince her mother to stop. Keep up the good work Guys, God bless🙏🏼
Awesome Pat I appreciate your segment discussing the necessity of boredom. Of course creativity is a double-edged sword in itself, but I think of a quote from Admiral Rickover, “The Devil is in the Details, but So is Salvation.”
I am a high school teacher in a major U.S. city. Students are on their phones, and misusing school issued computers all day in their classes. They are playing games, watching tv, videos, texting and scrolling through countless memes. All norms of behavior of decency and courtesy have broken down. Kids use extreme profanity in front of teachers knowing there are no consequences. Teachers, administrators and deans are hopelessly overwhelmed. Kids are complete indifferent and nihilistic about learning, playing sports or participating in any activities inside or outside of school. Parents no longer have any control over their kids, and in many cases fear them. Attendance is abhorrent and many students have 60 or more unexcused absences per year. Administrators and teachers are under severe pressure never to fail a students, risking their careers if they do so. It is now considered a violation of a students civil rights to suspend, or fail a student. Every year we graduate hundreds of students who can barely read or do arithmetic, and are completely lacking in foundational skills necessary to find and keep a job. This problem is going on through out schools across the country. It is a terrifying and staggering problem that in the long run I do not know if in the long run are country can sustain.
I canceled my TV subscription i was tired of the over the top messages. Watching Pat Mac and sharing it with my 17 year old son. "Make good decisions Son"!
So true all of it. As humbling as it is we can’t play god we only can hope our children and ourselves can live a long happy life but we can’t take an pill every time we don’t like how we feel. Plus play rough, get dirty, win fights , lose fights u need to feel it all and no matter what don’t give up.
Even the people at the top, who are older and therefore should be wiser. The moment they started pushing the pro-transgender stuff at the expense of literally everything else, and even some Generals coming out as trans (...seriously, wtf?), I knew our military was done. Our military is literally being led by insane people. And those within who try and speak out against it are kicked out...or worse.
Anyone who grows up now, or who grew up with PCs at home at the very least, has been encouraged to think that "boredom" is a state of mind where you don't have a new techno-gadget experience at least every 30 seconds. You can see it in your daily driving. Watch how long it takes for people to respond to the green light, because they have to check their phone while the light sits as a red signal. They can't leave that little gadget alone.
Great discussion. My 9 yr old has started telling me "I'm bored!" I tell her "Good, that means you're motivated to find something worth doing." I'm pushing them to go outside as much as I can.
Damn, I wish I had the opportunity to call into your podcast because what you guys were discussing is one of my biggest stressors. The passion with which Mac was describing his frustration was spot on. Mac was talking about how today's young children are being raised by electronic devices. Well, think about this, the parents of those kids are kids of people born in the 1960s and early 70s. where did their values come from? I was born in 1960, is my generation somehow to blame for the way today's parents raise their kids? In fact, I know many people of my generation that are completely addicted to their phones, how does that happen? I have a flip phone and refuse to get sucked into the social media plaque. Call me a dinosaur if you wish but prefer to have my human interactions in person. DJ and Mac keep preaching the gospel of humanity!..Im with you 100%!!
Yes, you are collectively some of the dumbest human beings in the entirety of human history. Being alive today as an intelligent young adult is basically psychological torture. Eventually you will pay.
I live in San Antonio Texas which has become a blue city for the worse. It’s now dirty littered chit hole! I visited Nashville, Tennessee recently and it was clean beautiful city. The people are respectful & kind, my wife & I really enjoyed it. Of course it’s a red state/city! What the USA needs are Prayers to God and humble ourselves.
I grew up 90s/early 2000s. I’m so thankful for my “misfortune” I didn’t have stacks of video games, grew up mostly without social media. my kids don’t know half of what the phones ca do. We don’t have cable. We occasionally watch movies and it’s always a treat. my kids play outside.
Born in ‘65 also…agree 100%. Taught school from ‘88 to ‘17…saw massive change. When cell phones first came out, we collected them from students and fined them! Not so in later years.
Echoing all the viewpoints I've held for awhile, thanks for speaking out. I don't know the fix for this society, but history shows it'll sort itself out through revolution or complete societal collapse.
When my son had a scrape, I would tell him to rub dirt on it...I didn't mean literally, but he got the message. Toughen up and get through the little things and don't make them bigger problems.
A few weeks ago I was walking near a park full of apparatus for kids. A child, about 3 years old was playing on a curb with two sticks. Laughing and having fun. Dad was watching him. I said life is good when that is entertainment. Dad laughed and agreed. Dad was watch the kid play, not on any electronic crap. Good fun. 🇺🇸
I was exposed to technology and video games when I was in 7th grade until 12th grade. And it massively impacted my social skills. I was such a weirdo, because I didn’t understand social interaction. I just played video games all day. I realized this and joined the military and became a cop and really forced myself out of my comfort zone. But I still feel like I’m catching up to people my age as far as socialization.
I was born in ‘63. Outside in the woods exploring or dirt biking. Sports was also a huge part of our childhood, not just organized but playground football, baseball and basketball. Joined the Navy at 17 and was in Naples by 18. Never asked for directions or gps (wasn’t around then lol), but had developed instincts on my own on how to get around and how to avoid the bad places. Kids nowadays have 1,000 % more information at their fingertips but 0% common sense and instincts. Sadly, it’s gonna get worse.

I’m glad you’re talking about all of this Pat. You’re the man!!! Not the ‘cis-gendered man’. The. Man.
Mac, you have never been more accurate and right on the money than right here!!
Pat thank you for speaking truth.
Thanks guys. Has to be said!
Awesome video.
Right-on Dudes!! These things just have to be said, bravo!
You are correct Pat. Bad thing is, these same kids that grew up on a screen, are leading soldiers in the military.
This is 100% correct.
Forget Netflix
Disney +
Hulu
Let’s watch the trees and leaves fall and grow.
Stop,look,listen, Smell.
What he said about gender confusion is absolutely accurate! Ridiculous.
Great content!
Great episode.
As a kid, I was happy with a pound of 6" nails and a hammer. We used to build tree houses and stuff.
Cheers from Oklahoma brother 👍 🙌 🙏
Badassery wisdom and truth
Good stuff Pat
You make an excellent point about letting kids be bored - let them get their creativity going.
Amen! Boredom brings creativity...but culture doesn't allow for that, keep walking with our King
Kids: If your parents sound like these guys, erase Fox News from their remote controls. They will be much happier in a couple of weeks.
well said guys! very well said.
Spot on, guys.
Great convo gentlemen, thank you.
Amen Pat Mac! Preach it brother. 👍
Hit the nail on the head!
Well said gentlemen!
True... hopefully your content will continue to find new folk looking to recieve a different message, all the best.
Good fun. 🇺🇸
Amen, 1000%…… it is so easy to provide instant entertainment instead of actively gaining their attention!!!
Yeah uhh being a cop won't help you socialize or be normal lol
You picked the perfect job for someone who cant relate to other people. Im sure thats why they chose you.
Amen to that brother.
100 percent truth thank you we are not alone people need to wake up
I was born in ‘63.
Thank you Pat and CJ for talking about these subjects, true warriors for truth and what is needed. Thank you for all you do!
