Education Beats Politics in the Long Run

- In the long run, education beats politics. Political solutions are important, but they are temporary. They represent stop-gap measures to preserve the liberty that buys us the time to strengthen and build ourselves, our families, our communities, and so on. We do need to win some political battles right now, but we must be even more devoted to strengthening and equipping the existing base of freedom-loving people-especially families and kids. This is part of the long-term solution. You can't preserve freedom if the people are not equipped.

"Never forget how to be a kid." Wisdom. Too many lose that curiosity and joy of living. Also, learning to be happy in your own mind, without constant interruption and interaction, is a skill that has to be learned.
I agree.
As someone who (I can imagine) probably sits on the opposite side of the political fence to Mac, he is absolutely someone I agree with more than most people on my side of the fence on core topics. I think it clearly goes to show there is far more that unites us then divides us. Mac brother, keep putting out that wholesome good content truly one of the real dudes on this platform making a positive impact on the world.
Always stay open minded and ready to learn. If we only reinforce what we already know, we can't grow.
Guys, so freaking true! The biggest complainers often have as much to blame for our current results. Our Constitution and the Founding Fathers set things up the way they did, relying on the PUBLIC to hold their government ACCOUNTABLE!! We forget a lot of what makes us ourselves and enthusiasm.
Been talking to my kids like normal human beings for years and it shows.
So much wisdom thank you
Keep it up Mac ! Funny, two Tier 1 people I know have two of the best toy collections I have ever seen. Totally take you back. Totally relaxing.
Love the basic dude stuff. Took my niece and ex-wife’s son out on an adventure. Built a shelter/fort in the woods, threw some rocks in the lake, identified different animal and plant species, and had them land nav us back to the truck. The sense of real world accomplishment is all over their face’s. They stand a little taller, walk a little straighter, and constantly ask to go again. Keep it up guys, you’re saving generations of people from being average shit heads that just turn food into shit and use up oxygen.
Love the basic dude stuff videos at 53. Started using that phrase when completing the wife’s requests around the house. Figured if she gets tired of it the requests will slow down. Great work you’re doing.
On 0:11 till 0:13 Pat:"I mean, look at me"
Me: 🤣
5:41 glorious. Great vid thank you gentlemen.
100% great talk you guys, common sense, making good decisions, seeing life through many lenses
Excellent video thanks for sharing.
Keep on keeping on! gents. And Merry Christmas to all.
Amen, brothers! Stay the course, and your positivity and perseverance will inspire many to lead good, productive lives!
Gentleman, you are working wonders for generations to come. Thank you. It is hard fighting the mamby pamby crap my daughter is doing to raise her sons when I am trying to teach them real world principles and to be considerate, responsible young men.
Excellent advice!
A good follow-up to yesterday's chat, Pat Mac. Thank you.
I'd say the root of all this is values -- what values are in your head, in your life as you go about your day? What values do you live by? If you have responsibilities for others, do you live your values demonstrably for them? Are you a "walk the talk" guy? Or do you "go along to get along"? Or maybe, do you see that it might be a tightrope walk between the two, sometimes? And in those moments, what do you do? How do you decide what to do?
The qualitiy of the education you provide to others (generic "you" here) depends heavily on the values you possess and demonstrate. Do you teach pursuit of knowledge? Pursuit of truth? Protection of the less powerful? Respecting those who are wiser and more experienced? Honoring those who have demonstrated values worth honoring, over time?
Do you encourage folks who may see you as "teacher" to become good humans, merely by the way you talk about subjects or demonstrate methods for doing something?
Back to today's chat -- yes, see things as a child. My favorite philosophy prof in college started his courses on the first day by saying, "philosophy is seeing the world with the eyes of a child, full of wonder, always asking why?" Then he would look at the class with a grin, and say, louder -- "Why? WHY? WHY?!!!" Then he said -- be like that child. Ask why. Be curious about the world around you.
When mac said "look at me" I fell over laughing lol love this dude
Pat Mac is a stud
Indeed. dropp'n that knowledge. Tx SGM
We used to drive from Northern Virginia to Norfolk playing car bingo with our son. A lot of fun.

Great job fellas
I know this is completely off topic but, love the Judas Priest Hell Bent For Leather poster. One of my all time favorite pieces of cover art.
I have 4 kids, no tv allowed Monday-Friday. No tablets/phones….I want their mother and I to be the leading influence in their development, not Disney, Hulu or YT!
Preach Mac
Education > Politics. Facts!
When I would get in trouble at home (1960’s) and grounded to my room I would daydream and pretend or go to a place I invented. It was beautiful.
Same here. Sitting and waiting for dad to get home because we knew there was going to be a punishment. A lot of kids today don’t have that opportunity to have their mistakes corrected early on. Society suffers.
Knowledgeable, self-reliant, independent people will make everything around them better.
Anthem by Ayn Rand is a great book.
“I mean look at me”
👍
I still laugh at farts. Hopefully that means I haven't forgotten how to be a kid.
To those two parents no electronics while traveling. Puzzles word games. Fantastic Job 👍.
I know someone who's kid is 5 or 6yr old. Has this phone for games in his hand 25hr a day. Let's just say the kid eats with one hand and phone with game in other hand or both. It takes him so long to eat a meal. Plus doesn't eat properly not even close.
This is what I like about pat Mac. I assumed he's conservative such as myself but, I get political stuff everywhere. It's nice to watch a guy with useful info but not constant political commentary.
Mac is one of, if not the *only* internet figure I look up to that I can actually share with my left and right leaning friends alike. And Mac doesn't turn either one of those groups into the other: he teaches us how to get back in touch with a piece of our humanity that has been lost to modern society. Something that literally everyone these days needs. It's a universally applicable message.
@@theDemong0d He doesn't seem like an extremists. Those are the people that are causing chaos in our society, on both sides.
@@michaelduke5087 nah not even close to an extremist, without knowing the details of his beliefs I peg him as a very moderate and down to earth kind of person, the kind of person who legitimately puts decent human principles and values first rather than only doing so when it supports some political agenda. A decent and rational human being. An old-school conservative from when that word actually meant something
@@theDemong0d Agreed
Very important not to lose track of your magical thinking 😀
Would love to see Pat interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson. There is so much overlapping between his philosophies and Pat’s. Imagine a colab with DJP and Pat for Basic Dude Stuff. 😂
Peterson has become a little more divisive and polarized these days, in his early days of fame he was much more neutral. It would be a fun conversation for sure but they aren't really on the same path, and I don't want to see Mac become part of the modern collective of conservative talking heads, I want him to keep spreading his universal message and leading by example as he already does so well. Too easy to get mired in identity politics and culture war which is ultimately a big waste of time and also loses you credibility with many of the people who need to hear this message the most.
@@theDemong0d a few points in response: First, I think DJP and Pat’s messages are both neutral and universal. I’d even argue that Pat’s is more conservative solely based on his obvious 2A stance. Second, I think any and all public figures fall victim to their viewership bracketing them into whatever category they identify with as a way to boost their own ego. DJP may seem right wing in today’s society, but aligns more with classic liberalism. The right may want to draft him like in Dave Chappelle’s Racial Draft skit, but he doesn’t really belong there. Third I think that Pat’s and DJP’s messages reach the same audience with the same ethos. IE clean your room, radical personal accountability, traditional well established gender roles, basic dude stuff, all meant to improve society by elevating young men into the roles men take on in a stable, hospitable, civilized world. Fourth I do think they probably differ in their religious views. While I have no reason to know what Pat believes or does not believe, DJP does speak a great deal on religion. But as a clinical psychologist and psychology professor whose entire body of work focuses on the human condition, religion plays a vital role in understanding the how and why we do what we do. And finally I don’t think you’ll ever have to worry about Pat becoming a talking head. He seems content changing the world one basic dude stuff video at a time. Which, I agree, is right where he is making the biggest impact.
…mmm “look at me” lol that’s what I tell people when they ask…
I have been genuinely wondering what Mac thought about the current state of our youngsters. In a nutshell, I sure hope we don’t have a draft. Enemy combatants train to be rude and call names and they’d have the edge already 🤦🏻♂️ sad man.
“Daddy Mac”
Overall i agree. I'm not 100% on board with no tech. Everything in life needs a balance and technology is part of life. Some games do spark creativity and education. I equally think it's ok to use a little baby talk, as long as it's balanced out with normal speak. A 3 year old is a little human, but not an adult. Again, balance is key.
We survived ten's of decades without electronics.
Education is the key to everything which makes me wonder why on the average the american people are so not-in-the-know.
Just ask any person where any kind of country is on the map.
Hopefully it doesn’t hold my boys back not having tablets.
Get Mac. A Sweater…..it’s the law.

Far too many equate indoctrination with education.
When you speak to a child with childish language, you do them a disservice. The child has to learn the childish word and then in time relearn words again in adult speech.
Don't talk down to your kids. It seems ok, but it's demeaning in reality.
Nope. Politics are educated ignorance. Wisdom, through knowledge, beats all. IMHO of course.
OHhhh, MAGA......Trump mug shot T-Shirts and coffee mugs on sale soon! Get yours fast as they make great xmas gifts to all your MAGA family members!!
Since you guys want to dabble in politics. Any thoughts on Fox News lying about the red wave for 2 years?
You have to prepare your kids for life!!!!!!!!!!! some parents do not, but some kids are a deer in headlights. Shelter kids have the hardest time to life.
