    Oh I'm glad you recommend this bike. I've been searching for a gravel bike for many months and have just come across the Camino Ti and it's exactly what I want.

      It's coming up to a year having the bike and I'll likely pop up an update, but spoilers, I still love it!

    I love riding my Camino Ti, though I have added the Redshift suspension bar stem and seat post. The bar stem really makes a big difference to ride. :)

    • @TheRadGravelRider

      A couple of friends have the redshift stem. One of them has it and the redshift seatpost in their Sonder Camino Al. It does make for a comfy ride. Great to hear you're enjoying your Camino too.

  • @gravelbikemark

    Love my Ti as below the redshift stem is a game changer - the thru axles are like butter if you are swapping wheels a lot then I would get some spares

    • @TheRadGravelRider
      @TheRadGravelRider  Год назад

      That's interesting to hear about the Thru Axles, as a friend had heard similar. I do swap wheels fairly regularly, and I've some Robert Axle Project TA's on my Evil Chamois Hagar so may invest in some for the Camino too, thanks for the heads up!.

    At last a real no BS reviewer !. Very refreshing content . Concise and informative. Thanks. BTW - did you opt for the upgrade wheels or stick with the standards?.. Hope to order my Camino next week.

    • @TheRadGravelRider

      Thanks! I try my best. I purchased the frame and forks only from Alpkit then built the bike up from a mix of donor parts off my old Kinesis Tripster ATR and a new SRAM AXS eTap GX/Rival groupset. I've never heard bad things about their wheels, but I've not ridden them personally. Wheels tend to be the first thing I replace on a stock bike so if there's an option to upgrade then go for it.

    Thanks again for another great video, think your the only one on u tube with the v3 frame so thankyou.
    Sorry couple questions whilst I await the delivery! Are the axles Allen key type rather than lever?
    Looks like a mechanical rear mech cable would run along the machined chainstay plate then internally in the chainstay ?
    Is the ride of the Ti noticeable would you say?
    Thanks again
    Jim

    • @TheRadGravelRider
      @TheRadGravelRider  Год назад

      Hey Jim, sorry I haven't replied sooner, I've only just seen this comment today. In answer to your questions
      1) Thru Axles are Allen key rather than lever lockable.
      2) Rear mech cable would run inside the frame and under the BB and then through the chainstay. There's a section on the chainstay at the BB area where the cable comes out and along a short ridge built into the flattened section of the chainstay. It's hard to describe, sorry. I'm running a wireless rear mech.
      3) first ride I honestly couldn't tell, but once I'd ridden my carbon bike a few times then jumped back on the Camino, definitely noticeable. Definitely more comfortable than my old Kinesis Tripster.
      Hope that helps!

      No worries at all thanks for taking the time to reply it’s such a big help. Yes the cable route makes total sense and that’s what I was thinking so spot on. Great news on the ride and a big accolade vs the tripster, that was on my list too.
      Oh and you have set me off on a purple mission now 🤣

    Hi, can i ask what size frame you went for and how tall you are please? I'm 6'1 so uncertain if i should go for L or XL!! Thank you. Great vid btw.

    • @TheRadGravelRider
      @TheRadGravelRider  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! I'm 5ft 11 and went for a medium. I prefer a smaller frame size. I've mates who are a similar height to you and went for the large and haven't regretted it.

    Curious, what brand is your steerer tube cap? I have a Camino Ti- waiting for warmer weather to try it out, but bought Hope steerer tube cap and it doesn't fit the Camino fork.

    Great vid. Looking at buying the frame set myself and using my old steel gravel bike for donor parts. When buying yours did you go off the recommended sizing from the Alpkit site? I’m showing as smack bang in the middle of a medium but the top tube length is longer than I’d expect for my height.

    • @TheRadGravelRider
      @TheRadGravelRider  Год назад +1

      The frame is designed to be used with a shorter stem, so try not to worry about the top tube length too much as it very much borrows from the MTB world with regards long slack top tubes. I'm running mine with a 90mm stem which is relatively long for the frame design. Hope that helps.

    • @okaycyclist
      @okaycyclist Год назад +1

      @@TheRadGravelRider thanks for the reply, I saw that about shorter stems on the meet the designer video. What was the reason for going with 90mm on yours if you don’t mind me asking.

    • @TheRadGravelRider
      @TheRadGravelRider  Год назад +1

      @@okaycyclist for me it was a case of using up donor parts from my old Kinesis and also I too was between medium and large. I prefer a smaller frame for standover height so opted for the medium with a slightly longer stem.
