Very apt & interesting video Gareth ! Apt because I brought a frame set to build one up but it w they all as only when it was delivered I realised it has a full carbon fork. I have a few bikes but whether they are steel , aluminium , CF have non CF stems so as I am building it myself with limited skills I returned it. I just don't like the fact that CF steering tube is so malleable. Its a shame because the bike always gets good reviews as yours does. I will look for an alternative but I will stick with 1x as I have been using my grandsons hybrid with it fitted and I just love the convenience. If I should struggle at any time being I am old I will just get off and walk. Glad your happy with it and you now have a new Sub.
Nice video, I’m just about to buy a Camino. Plus I love the video tour of my old city. You should check out NTR they have their own gravel riding splinter group who ride gravel all the time. NTR dirtbags 👍🏼
Thanks Paul, I'm a bit of a lone wold when it comes to riding - I enjoy the solitude! Enjoy the bike - I've been on my road bike once since I got mine late July last year...
I’m thinking about ditching my road bike for a Camino… I already have a 650b rowdy gravel set up, but to have the freedom to do rides that are 90% road, or where I can explore without fear that the road surface will deteriorate, as well as for extra comfort in the cold & wet, I’m willing to sacrifice a bit of aero position and weight for a wider tyres and cable discs. From your experience, would you advise going for a Camino?
The Camino is definitely an off road bike (but one that feels pretty good on tarmac), so might be quite similar to your ‘rowdy’ gravel bike. They’ve changed the geometry since I bought mine and it is said to have gone further towards the MTB end of the market.
Great ride thank for your point of view about the bike! What size is your frame and how tall are you? I’m thinking of ordering one now! Great value for money.
I’m 5’10” which puts me in the medium/large overlap. After a test ride, I went Large with a 80mm stem (ie slightly shorter than standard 90mm). Sonder are very good at tweaking things to suit you.
@@GriffKane this was super helpful! I am 5 ft 9 which also puts me in that overlap and was worried that the medium frame would push me into a stem that was way longer than optimal. I ended up going for the large so I could keep the shorter stem although I do wish the stack was just slightly lower
Cheers mate, I have almost hit 'Buy It Now' on a Genesis CDA 30 and then I see this pop up in my YT feed....... sorry if i missed it on the vid but what's the lowest gearing on yours? I think I heard you say 40/40? I'm trying to get lower gears on my next bike to save those 'hike-a-bike' moments when fully loaded for bikepacking....... Cheers, looks like a beaut!
@@GriffKane Cheers, looks like a cracking ride - love the scenery at 19:00 ish.... today I ordered the CDA 30, I had been umming and rrrring for a while ...... I might do a little ride-along review...... Enjoy!!
Yeah typical i start looking at a new bike in this case a sonder camino and then all of a sudden every video and article is about the sonder camino ......i guess the universe is beating me around the head to go out n buy it 😆
My Camino arrived today. Can't wait to get out on it.

I just got one this weekend. Absolutely love it.
You have a superb bike there Gareth and a fantastic option for a bike packing setup...👍 Nice looking trails too.
Yes, I’ve since done a two-night trip along the Tyne ruclips.net/video/RJRW9uq5rFs/видео.html - perfect bike for it!
I can’t wait for my Camino, won’t get it till February!
I've been on my road bike once since I've got the Camino - not too long to wait!
Blaydon burn & guards wood. That really is my home stomping ground.
Thanks for the video, dude.
Thinking of buying one of these but the gearing is a concern as i have lower on my hybrid road bike.
Nice review!
Forgot to ask you, what's the width of your handlebar? Thanks
Stock Sonder Bombers which are so flared I don't think a width is meaningful!

Nice wheels 👍

@@GriffKane yeah, I noticed the geo change. They’re still selling 2021 frames really cheap. Thanks for your thoughts!
Nice vid that, thanks. What wheelset are you running?
Stock: 700C Sonder Novas and WTB Resolute 42mm tyres - went tubeless a couple of weeks ago after thornageddon before Xmas.

@@JasonMatthewCrabtree Like you i am similar height so was not sure which size to go for. How is it going for you ? Flats or drop bars ?
Thanks for that, good review 👍what wheel and tyre combination did you go for?
Stock Sonder 700c + WTB but now running tubeless after thornageddon last December.

40/42. Got me up all but one climb (which had a very loose surface) on my bikepacking trip later in the year (check my channel)

What size frame is that ?
@@Temporalplace Large, although I went for a shorter stem as i felt a bit stretched!
What pedals are you using?
Sonder Jekylls - double sided as I sometimes want to ride without cleats.
Also what size frame are you riding? I’m 5’7 and considering getting a medium
You sound fxxxxx, on the flat
Don't think I breathe quite that heavily - I blame the GoPro!
