      Thanks for watching and the comment. It’s not as bad as I thought it would be, so far, just expensive. Using Chris at Hotwire makes all the difference. The Holley kit is very well made as well.

    Nice LJ...
    I just finished my 05 TJ RUBICON 5.7 HEMI swap with the exception of AC lines. You're going to love it. I also used Chris from Hotwire.

      Its a nice project, not to hard to figure out the issues I have had so far. Thanks for the comment.

    Looks like a fun project. I have a 03 TJR I put a 6.2 LS3 in and love it. I also have a 2005 LJ Rubicon Sahara and have a 5.7 w/545rfe out of a Grand Cherokee but haven’t done that conversion yet so I’m looking forward to your progress. The LS conversion took me several years to complete and I still have some stuff to do like the A/C lines. Hopefully everything goes smooth for you on this project. Subscribed!

      Thanks for subscribing! So far it's a fun project but also expensive. I've been gathering parts for a while. The 6.2 sounds fun.......Thanks for the comment,

    I have an 06 LJ Rubicon that I'm planning to re-motor next winter. I've considered and LS and the Hemi. Thanks for the information. What was the benefit of going with the Cherokee engine when you say you needed the ECM out of a Ram? What years were those again? Great content.

      Thank you. The complete Cherokee was available for a good price, and needed the gas pedal from a Cherokee anyway, also my motor cover says JEEP, not RAM. My Cherokee motor is an 05.

    Did you happen to make a template for that Tera-Flex gas pedal bracket? I’ve collected a few parts already for My 06 LJ. Mine is a auto already. I started picking up stuff for this conversion when i bought my LJ 3 years ago. I daily drive mine and it has a tame Ol Man Emu 2” lift on 33”. Ive picked up some parts over the past couple years like the GC pedal, exhaust manifolds, 05 truck ECM. I havnt made the call to HotWire to get things rolling with the harness, and getting my ecm sent off to them. I scored a 05 hemi and trans from a wrecked Ram at my local Pick pull. Finding your videos on your swap has inspired me to get serious with getting started on mine. Thanks so much for the info and content. Im hoping i could use you for some reference while im progressing with my swap. Keep up the good work

      Excellent! Nothing on this swap was hard to do. Some minor cutting and little welding and everything fits. I was very impressed with the Holley swap parts. Exhaust went well and I can’t say enough good things about Hotwire. Just plan on getting the engine tuned for it to run right. I thought about having some of those brackets manufactured and have them for sale. Good luck with your build! Ask any questions you need an answer to. Thanks for the comment!

      Your very welcome. Hot-rod fabrication is my thing. The electrical is my week point. The more plug and play for me the better. Seems like hot wire makes it exactly that. How much was the ecm you bought from them. I wonder if they can program the one i have from a 05 Ram. I will call them soon. Im definitely interested in one of those GC pedal brackets asap. Or shoot me a schematic if you have one. Drafting is kinda a hobbie, went to trade school for it but never got in the field. I use the skill to draft any fabrication stuff on my play vehicles and friends projects. I can probably just whip one up with card board and figure it out but im time crunched for 4 weeks to complete on this endeavor. Any shortcuts i can get will help and id rathe just but one and have it at the ready. If you could make one how long would it take you to get to it. Or have some made. I dont have a break but i can make my vice work. I just need some of the main dimensions and bolt pattern location measurements. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Do you have a patreon account?

      Ive done a dozen or so chassis setups on 60’s and 70’s muscle cars is what i should have said

      I had 3 early first gen Broncos growing up. This LJ is my first ever Jeep and im in love. After 3 years of daily driving this with the dog reliable 4.0 i am salivating for that v8 power, probably better gas mileage and overall better drivability. The rig is worth it its just im afraid to get tied down with electrical problems. I hate troubleshooting that tedious stuff.

      @@kc4wd Did you just use a local tuner?

    KC, I would like to know what prompted you to want to go from a 6 speed to an automatic? Was it convenience, better fuel mileage, maybe at the age of being tired of gear changing, just curious.

    • @kc4wd
      @kc4wd  Год назад

      Good question..... it was a combination of a few things that made me decide on a automatic. 1) I like an automatic for crawling, just my preference. #2 Grand cherokee I bought just happened to be automatic and fit my T-Case. #3 the boss wanted an automatic so she felt comfortable driving it. Happy wife happy life kinda deal.......

      52107719 is the part number. Thanks for watching

    interesting, in my state if you want to pass emissions you would need an 06 or newer engine or it can't be registered. what state are you in?

    • @kc4wd
      @kc4wd  5 месяцев назад

      NC. Inspector told me exactly the same or better emissions that it had. 05 and 06 engines are identical in a LJ, so they said OK.
