Back in the late '70's and early '80's, this was a Sheraton and the best place around. The inside area around the pool was gorgeous. Sororities, fraternities and other groups from Bloomsburg University had their formal events here. Wish I had a photo from back then. So sad to see the place in decay. Thx for filming!
That is true. I have commented on every Sheraton/Days inn Danville video on YT. My wife and I first stayed at this Sheraton in July of 1978. We found it while on vacation, driving around and looking for places to fish north of Bloomsburg and further north to Worlds End State Park.
Since my wife and I were so young this place really made an impression on us. The motel was just four years old in '78 and was in top shape. In thinking of it now I would say that the Sheraton Danville's glory years were 1978 to 1989 when it became a Days Inn. Why Sheraton ever divested themselves of this prime location is beyond me. In the era which I described this motel _was_ the crown jewel of accommodations for at least fifty miles east or west.
For as much as I have commented on every YT video concerning this motel I've probably dredged-up every memory I have of this place. I was last up there in May of 2003 and the place had really fallen, sadly, quite low.

I hate seeing abandoned hotels/motels, especially ones in such an ill state like this. It hurts my heart. There are so many items in there that could have been repurposed for the needy before everything got so trashed or damaged by moisture. Glad you weren’t hurt in the car mishap. For your own safety, always wear your seatbelt. It’s illegal in Canada for anyone in a moving vehicle to not wear their seatbelt, driver and passenger(s). Take care, safe journey home.

many states I think its legal for the back seat passengers to not wear a belt, here in Oregon I think its 100% must wear seatbelts, I personally if there is a strap I'm using it. Give me a 5 point harness and I'm clicking every belt. I seriously don't like not being strapped in. I don't even like to move my car around in my own driveway without belting up. I don't care what the law is where I go, I will always wear a seat-belt. I've been in several situations that made me want to always be prepared you never know when you are going to spin out in the rain, or lose traction in gravel around a turn, or when someone is going to have a stroke in the on coming lane and BOOM instant lesson in physics.
if you're over 18 and sitting in the back seat in a lot of states its legal to not be buckled in. I know that's how it is in Pennsylvania and New York. I mean it's not smart but it's not illegal

I live in Michigan and while Detroit has so many historical abandoned places , most of them are very dangerous as far as crime. Be careful if you guys ever explore there.

I think for black mold if you don't touch them you're good. I used to rent a basement where black mold's everywhere on the wall, I just tried not to touch it and I survived lolol

Check out Northern State Hospital, it's an abandoned Insane Asylum in Sedro Woolley, WA. It's turned into a Job Corps center now, but there are a few abandoned buildings of the old Hospital. Crazy history about this place. Do some research on it and I hope you explore it one day.✌

I am so excited to see this, I'm from a close by town. There was a club in the day's inn called Whispers. It was a frequent stop for our group of friends on weekends. Amazing to see how it looks now!! The pool area was amazing. They are actually getting ready to demolish it and build a gas station.
So I'm guessing lack of funds again made this place close down..
There’s places here in West Virginia that is abandon including a prison high school amusement park I would like to see you check them out

Businesses should have to tear down their abandoned properties by law. Leaving a property like this is a safety hazard and should be illegal.
So just let the stupid people be smart enough to stay out so it doesnt get wrecked then. It's already by law illegal to enter those properties, so it's kinda your own fault if you get hurt there. People like Josh, they know what they are doing. They probably will not get hurt anytime soon.
Hey Josh ever hit the Huntington WV region be glad to show ya around. Up until a few years ago had some old houses and sheds near two abandoned wells from the civil war era but sadly the houses were torn down with developments coming into the area.

I saw this and kind of was stunned. I'm from the area and drive by this place several times a week. I had no idea what it looked like inside! The reason it had conference rooms and such, I'd assume, is the massive teaching hospital (Geisinger) nearby, and Bloomsburg University. It probably catered to events/seminars/etc for the hospital and the college. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me that the place is trashed. :/

If you come to the uk there is an abandoned holiday camp called pontins in a place called hemsby near Great Yarmouth Norfolk! It has an interesting back story and pontins used to be a huge deal In the uk! Would be cool to see it now as last time I saw it it was pretty untouched with everything intact including staff name badges

We used to stay here every year. It was the absolute best hotel to stay at as a kid. It was so much fun. I’m so sad to see that it is now abandoned.
I don’t think you’ll ever run out of exploring abandoned places. But it would be nice to see you explore some of the first abandoned buildings you ever explored to see if they are still there and such
i used to go and take stuff from the abandoned but only the historic things in good condition and you know you don't see often because my family doesn't like to see certain things to just get trashed but we do exploring as well but we don't trash it we leave it how it is take what we want to save we either keep it for continuing the use we just clean it up or sell it so others can also enjoy the use of that item because its better to keep items from the past before its destroyed than to leave it there and be forgotten.

Josh you should come to the Asian region after going to UK . Come to Penang! We have quite a lot of abandoned places including the actual Japanese army headquarters that is now a museum.

Ohio has great things. Conneant is a half abandoned running park. Its a great place to go to see how history can change in time.
