I love making unique holidays! I also use a mod that includes a lot more holiday activities (a mod that I think is a must for everyone). You can get so creative, not even just with bigger holidays, but perhaps you just want to have a "Summer Swimming" day where sims all around the world spend a day swimming. Something I like to do is to make a sort of "12 Days of Christmas" holiday, where in the week leading up to Winterfest, you give gifts to other sims on every day. I like to get creative and really get personal with my sims, thinking about what kind of gift they would really like, especially if it's something I've made, like a sweater, a wooden toy, or a book I've written just for them. I love to watch these kinds of videos and see what other people are creating! ❤
It somehow never occurred to me to give sims the day before or after a major holiday off (especially to prepare). I tend to forget to decorate and holidays sneak up on me in game. This video was super interesting and I’ve taken a lot from it.
What about something like Guy Fawkes day? After all, the Foxglove legacy is taking place in Henford-On-Bagley and it's based on the Cotswolds in England
I loved celebrating that as a child! Now that I'm older, I find it a bit grim haha. It would be fun to try and think of a cool spin on it to make it more wholesome! Thank you for the idea.
What about Earth, Wind and Fire day? Take up leaves that have blown down, clear the garden then light a fire to cosy up too. It could have fireworks but I prefer fireworks on NYE. It’s a bit similar to your chill in the wind holiday though.
@@Plumbie I always ignore the meaning and just take the time to enjoy sitting out in the chill and watching fireworks haha, but I'm sure there can be a lovely wholesome spin to it. Maybe make it a day that just represents family and bringing in the harvest?
Love these ideas! In my calendar, I always have "Celebration of New Life" in spring, and "Celebration of Old Life" in winter, to both remember those that have passed on and celebrate those just beginning
i like to add during summer some holidays like summer break, i add just travel/vacation and go visit the parents,grandparents, it’s like beach trips to sulani, tartosa, my favorite part of summer

The holiday schedule that I use (based on the 28 day cycle) is as follows. During the fall, the first day of school happens on the first Monday of that season, with Spooky Day taking place on the Friday of the second week of the season and Veterans Day taking place on the Monday after Spooky Day. In the fourth week of fall, we have Harvestfest on Thursday, followed by Black Friday on Friday and Small Business Saturday on the Saturday after Harvestfest. The Sunday after Harvestfest marks the beginning of winter, where a menorah celebration takes place for eight days preceding Winterfest and a kinara celebration takes place for five days after Winterfest, which itself is then followed by New Year's Eve on the third Sunday of winter (and New Year's Day the Monday after that). Love Day takes place on the fourth Wednesday of winter, which is then followed by the two-day Spring Festival celebration which leads into spring. That season has Ash Wednesday on the first Wednesday of the season, which is followed eight days later by the Easter holiday comprising Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. Following this, a Memorial Day weekend celebration is held on the last Saturday of the spring, leading into the start of the summer season. The first week of summer marks the last week of school, with the last day of school being held on the first Friday of the season. Following that, a three week summer vacation takes place where children are off from school but adults have to work, with Independence Day and Labor Day being the two major holidays. Labor Day falls on the last Saturday of summer, which leads into the first Sunday of fall.
Also there are several regularly scheduled surprise holidays that correspond to sporting events, including the start of the American football and basketball regular seasons along with their respective championships, and professional wrestling pay per views.

I have the issue that when I download and use mods for the calendar that all the events from the game move and suddenly the cottage living events take place on a different day and time for example 3:42 to 9:42 can anymody help me?
