YOU CAN FIND FINE RESTAURANTS IN LESS CHIC ARRONDISSEMENTS AT BETTER PRICES. Choices are typical American expat. No French person spends €100 for lunch except on an expense account.
As a young Parisian i would recommend the restaurant Paloma in the 20th arrondissement, for a rather modern french cuisine. The meal menu is very cheap (15€) for very good products. In the evening you can order plates to share, which are also very good. Thank you for your entertaining videos, your smiles are very communicative. Keep on!

I would like to give another tip. A real complete meal (apéro + entrée + plat de résistance + fromage/dessert + café) is not the typical Parisian workday lunch, except if it is a professional lunch, or maybe a friday lunch. This kind of epicurious meal is more for dinners. On workdays Parisians (excluding students and working poors) maybe will take only an entrée or a plat de résistance. A few entrées are really nutricious (céleri rémoulade, salade au fromage de chèvre, salade landaise, assiette de charcuterie, tête de veau, and so on) and with bread can easily be a very satisfying lunch, that allows to go back to work for the afternoon. Or they take only the main course, then a coffee, and that's all. As a tourist in Paris I would do the same, I mean not having a full french meal on lunchtime, so that during the afternoon you can have a pastry or two!
Je comprend. But I disagree. It depends on what your schedule is made off. I work freelance on my computer and though can spend 2 or 3 hours 'lunching' along with friends but only if I can finish the job late in the evening. On the other hand, you're right, we usually have a light lunch and stress on evening food.

Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I am travelling to Paris in October and can’t wait to try all the amazing places you recommend. I ate at Les Cocottes when I came to Paris several years ago and loved it, so glad to hear it is still amazing. I will definitely be eating there again.
Another great vlog Les Frenchies! You bring us authentic French content! We love to see the enjoyment on your faces when sampling French cuisine! We've added the above cafes to our map of must visits when we visit Paris someday!
Wow best restaurant in Paris to eat, I can’t wait to try them, thank u nice couple for the tip & suggestions, I always keep note on all ur video, watching from USA…
Our family is wrapping up our visit to Paris this week, and really appreciate the help you’ve provided. Couple ideas for future videos: places to visit on hot days, rainy days, early in the morning, later in the day, etc. We also had an incident where we forgot to write our names on our Metro visite tickets, and the RATP fined us 35 euro per ticket, so good tip for tourists. Keep up the great work.
Bonjour Les Frenchies. Love your videos. We are finishing up a month in Paris (from the US Virgin Islands) and ate lunch at Chez Rene. It was great. We didn't have a reservation but they were nice enough to seat us outside without to much fuss. We usually like to eat a nice lunch and then ease up for dinner with street food or salads at apt. The waiter was great and once he heard our so so french he eagerly helped us out in English. He was very professional and very nice. I had the Escargot and Beof Bourguigon and my wife had Ouef dur Mayonnaise and the Tartare Beof. The Escargo was large and tasty. Probavy one of the best I've had in Paris. The Bourguigion was tasty and a hugh portion. It's easily enough to feed 2 people. My wife loved the Ouef dur Mayonnaise and the Tartare Boef was the most spiced up one we've had in Paris. Very good. For dessert we sharded the the Ile Flottante. It was so good (we tried hard to finish it off but just to much.) You were spot on with your recommendation with Chez Rene. And I believe we were the only tourist there. Merci !
I just want to say thank you for the recommendation of Le Sanglier Bleu just up from the Moulin Rouge. I went to the late show and decided to have dinner at Le Sanglier Bleu before the show. Stunningly good. I went stereotypically French and had the onion soup and the Steak Frites. Incredible. Thank you again. I've loved your videos. I'm having a fabulous week in Paris. Visiting from Melbourne Australia.
Ate at Savy today per your recommendation. Maybe because I was eating alone I had a completely different experience. They seated me in a very small corner with a velvet curtain behind me where there was a storage room and the waiters station was directly in front of me. I ordered escargot, the soup special, leek and potato. Both were absolutely tasteless. I then had a salad that was completely soggy. All three dishes were served at the same time. and none of the plates were cleared until I asked for the check. When they first brought me to this table I asked to sit somewhere else and they said they were completely full. I had made a reservation and when I left two tables were still empty and no one was ever seated there. I’ve dined at many restaurants in Paris and am always. extremely polite and respectful. I will never dine here again or recommend it to anyone. Btw this was a Monday in January so not a busy time either. Very disappointing - and I’ve had such great luck at all your other wonderful recommended restaurants.
It is such fun to see you guys eat! Not only are your vlogs very informative but extremely entertaining and send out positiveness which most people need. I cannot wait to return to Paris soon to try some of these restaurants. Please keep it up :-) Oh...and thanks...the vibe I am getting from this is "a warm and fuzzy feeling" (that's great where I come from :-))
And the world famous french fries.Amazing!Gonna taste it locally ( homemade ).My stomach urge me to eat.It will cost me much to be there in Paris but anyway I 'll try to cook it on my own. Thanks for the amazing video you featured.
When I was a kid at Christmas, we would have raw beef & onions on little rye bread. We called them Cannibal Sandwiches in Wisconsin. It's been decades since I've had it. I am looking forward to trying French Steak Tartare & so many others items you've suggested! Thank you for all of your helpful videos! Keep them coming!
DO NOT TRY THE FRENCCH STEAK TARTAR...! No 1; HE HEALTHY ONE CALL TATAR and not tartar. THE TARTAR IS FRESHLY MADE AND IT WILL GET YOU WORM IN THE STOMACH AS ROW MEAT NOT MADE LIKE THE TATARS (not TARTARS ) MAKES. EAT TATAR BEAFSTEAK but NEVER TARTAR. DIFERENT IS THE TATAR beefsteak is take 7-10 days for to keep it in olive oil and rosemary and other type of the spice for to KILL OUT ALL HARMFUL BACTERIA.... The French TARTAR IS FRESHLY MAD and GIVES TAPE WORM AND OTHER WORMS FOR TO GROW IN YOUR STOMACH AND GUT and BOWELS AND HEY CAN GROW UP TO ONE AND HALF METER and live on your health for up to 25 years...! IT IS ALSO SPREAD SO YOU CAN SPREAD IT TO OTHER PEOPLE...! the Americans wih their barbeques and half done beef is the cause to MOST OF THE MERICANS HEALTH ISSUE DUE TO THAT.
You gotta keep having raw beef and onions, as WE call it in Wisconsin. 😊 Yup, it's still a staple at our Christmas get togethers. But we also eat it year-round as raw beef (ground sirloin) on rye with butter and onions is a super health food! Makes your taste buddies happy too! 🥰
Love your videos it is so helpful for our recent paris trip! Please try La Citrouille, they make better duck leg confit and it is preserved, very moist inside and flavorful, the food is also not too salty or oily/heavy!
I usually go to Paris every year and I’m going to try some of your suggestions I love that you posted this. My Frenchmans recommended a place called ‘vins Pyrenees ‘ in marais, loved it! Lunch special and wonderful profiteroles , at le COUPOLE, BEAUTIFUL also, in Montparnasse.!!
Hello from Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺. That all looked amazing, would try every single dish. The mayo / egg ratio seemed a little excessive but apart from that everything looked wonderful and the desserts, wow! I would love to try the pistachio brulee.
Thank you for allowing me to travel with you. Your food videos bring back memories. Let me explain. I was a 13yr old Auckland, New Zealand boy working to save money for a Jamboree in Australia. I got a job at a local restaurant in Glendowie where i lived, 1 night a week washing dishes. This turned out to 2 then 3 then 5 nights a week. I must have been good!!!!! No silly. The boss was a ba..t..rd I was still at school remember. Many a time I ended up cooking!!! that's another story. When you show yourselves eating snails it reminds me of then. We were a bit up market for the area, however, the silver trays and clutches that accompanied the snails were exactly the same. Some things haven't changed We would get the French snail shells in wooden boxes packed in straw or wooden shavings I cannot remember. The French snails came in a very large tin of glutinous yuck. I was a boy bought up on the basic food items. To see these snails and having to clean and prepare was another thing. What the hell were people eating, something we got rid of out of the garden. To prepare them I had to place garlic butter in the shell, the snail had to be put in with the tail out and then more garlic butter. Simply revolting. Give me sausages, lamb, mash and veges. Even a packet of chips and a coke would be better than this. The chef would say I always had to try one. NO WAY. Until he cooked 1 to many 1 night. Or did he on purpose. I was 13 and I tried a snail. Actually I tried 6. My heart beat faster than ever, my hand shook and I slipped this "thing" in my mouth, only to turn around (and not to rush to the toilet) and say, 'that's not bad'. It was quite some years later I enjoyed snails, while my friends said I was crazy. Expensive little buggers however. Thank you for allowing me to experience France as if I was there. Merci.
@@LesFrenchiesTravel And so kind of you to respond to folk who post their appreciation of you. There are quite a few, who seem to ignore completely the Comments which they have attracted. A shame.
I’ve so been enjoying your videos and love learning about places like this. It’s fun to know what dishes are typical things folks order, too. The two of you have that joie de vivre in each video that makes me want to hop on a plane right now!
Les Frenchies, you're doing a great job, thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I'm loving your content of the greatest city in the world! You keep making me add "things" to my list of places to eat in Paris! Merci! My wife and I will be in Paris next month so excited to try some new places!
I love all your recommendations! We just got back from Paris a month ago and I already am missing the food 🥺 One restaurant we went to was called Bouillon Pigalle. It was very affordable, great service, and amazing food.
Did you have to wait in queue fiir along time? We stayed just down the road from that Bouillon in December and the queue was mile's long every time we walked by!!
@@bevwilkinson2853 as a Parisian I would never queue for a restaurant for this amount of time even if it was as amazing as you found it. Although Bouillon Pigalle is indeed cheap and has a nice ( but fake) setiing with traditional Parisian fare , I wouldn't go as far as to call the food amazing let alone even fine . But this is good news as there are at least a thousand other places where you will be able to discover better cuisine. Don't forget that popularity is not always a synonym of quality ...
I've been taking French lessons with a private tutor for a little over a year. I figure that, if I get one or two more years of French, and I watch all of your wonderful videos, I will be ready to have a great time in my first ever visit to Paris.
What a great post, you don't get more traditional standard excellent French food, than oeuf dur mayonnaise (home made), Boeuf Bourginion, Foie Gras, Confit de Canard, Steack Frites/Haricot Verts, Rilettes Radis-beurre..Goodness my mouth is watering. I also love Brasserie Lipp, Brasserie Flo 10ieme et La Coupole.
I did go to Le Bistro de Paris and that was an interesting experience and truly nice to see how the local culture works for dinner! As for the cheap eats, I did also try Kuma which was very good but just be prepared to wait outside since it is a very small place. They were very nice and the Japanese food was excellent, especially for us here in San Francisco who are used to Japanese cuisine. I would also add a fun place called Schwartz Deli at the same street as Kuma. If you want to get a Jewish sandwiches or breakfast, this is a great stop!
I don't even remember how I found Chez Rene when I was in Paris a few months ago but it was AMAZING and knowing it's a local fav makes it even better! And he was my waiter! It's where I tried bouef bourguignon and it was delicious. Would love to see a best vegetarian restaurants, as my husband is pescatarian and we tried to find places that weren't just like MEAT for dinners, our meal at Le Grenier de Notre Dame was absolutely spectacular and would love to know where else there are great options for our next trip.
A big THANKYOU to both of you. I love Paris and go there at least two or three times a year, always looking for authentic gastronomy. Thank you very much, for the inspiring videos. You are incredibly personable an do a really good job. Oh, it is wonderful to enjoy life with good food.
Counting down the days...6 weeks until we are in Paris. Please advise - are French restaurants open to sharing plates? I'm not sure we would be able to eat two entrees, main courses and desserts. Thanks!
Planning a trip to Paris next year and I'm binge-watching your videos to help me prepare. Love the food videos! My husband has Celiac disease however, and it can be a little tricky finding gluten free options for him. I would love to know if you have noticed the availability of gluten free options in your experiences eating out. 🙂
@@LesFrenchiesTravel That would be great! I know there are gluten free bakeries in Paris. We visited one in Rome a few years ago. The biggest frustration we find is that in order to serve more people, restaurants and bakeries try to eliminate as many allergens as possible. So in addition to eliminating gluten, they drop milk, eggs, nuts, etc from the recipe. While this makes sense from a business standpoint, essentially, you end up with a pile of sawdust. I had heard that the flour in Europe is different and less triggering because of GMO regulation. I don't know how it affects people with Celiac disease. I'll have to research that. Thanks for the response! I look forward to more videos about Paris. 🙂
@@LesFrenchiesTravel If you do make a video about dietary concerns it would be interesting to find classic French pastries, breads, foods etc made without gluten or other allergens and taste test them giving your opinion on how they compare to the "real" thing. This is always what we look for - can you tell the difference? Would you eat it just as happily as you would the real thing? etc. Just some thoughts. 🙂
if you focus on dishes with grilled meat + vegetables, it can be ok. But pay attention on this : in many French cuisine sauces/gravies, the cook starts with a "roux", in which there's always flour. But not always: for example the very famous cassoulet is normally gluten-free (the thickness of the sauce comes from the natural pork gelatine and the bean's starch.
Bonjour les amis!!! As always, I love this video! I'll be in Paris this Thursday, June 16. I don't eat meat but definitely I'm gonna try some deliciousness on these spots recommended. Can't wait! Muchas Gracias! Merci beaucoup! Odalis from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.
Thanks, Antoine and Colleen, for your numerous videos! My sisters and I went to Paris in July and your guides were very helpful. We went to Le Bistrot de Paris the first day and sampled almost all the iconic desserts on the menu. Delicious, especially the chocolate mousse!
So what Antoine recommends is enjoy The Gastronomic Meal of the French really like an essential part of their culture. In 2010, the ‘gastronomic meal of the French’ was inscribed by UNESCO on its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. There is a video of the UNESCO on youtube with that same title.

Were you paid to do these reviews? I'm now wondering about all your other You Tube videos and reviews of hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, etc. Shame on me, I thought these were independent, unbiased reviews.
But it's not a review of 5 top restaurants, it's 5 restaurants that locals eat at. They ate local food at restaurants that locals eat at. The only review was the google review rating they showed for each.

Love from oz 🇦🇺
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos.
I am travelling to Paris in October and can’t wait to try all the amazing places you recommend.
I ate at Les Cocottes when I came to Paris several years ago and loved it, so glad to hear it is still amazing. I will definitely be eating there again.
Another great vlog Les Frenchies! You bring us authentic French content! We love to see the enjoyment on your faces when sampling French cuisine! We've added the above cafes to our map of must visits when we visit Paris someday!
paris is an amazing city, only bad thing is ....... its full of french people and I hate them
Bonjour deMontreal
What a great video as usual. I enjoyed my Sunday morning with both of you eating inParis . Look forward
To your next video.
Omg… that’s amazing French cuisine!! My fave bone marrow, beef tartar etc all look so deelish! Thanks for your recommendation👍🏼😋
Justin Price, hello and good day. By "metro visit tickets" do you mean La Carte Navigo?
We will be there from August 8th 2022 and we will try these places for sure.
Merci !
The French make any meal look like a spectacular and special experience. Truly amazing how they embrace all that makes life worth living - food!
You two are the best. Love all your videos, I’ve learnt soooo much! Can’t wait to visit Paris!
My husband and I will certainly go pick one of these for lunch next time we visit PARIS. EXCELLENT recommendations at very reasonable price.
That sucks and their food actually looked good I was willing to give it a shot.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

I really like your videos! You two have such a great chemistry together! It's a pleasure watching you go about Paris :)
Subscribed! Bonne chance!
People, I am having such a good time watching you having a good time. Thank you :)
It is such fun to see you guys eat! Not only are your vlogs very informative but extremely entertaining and send out positiveness which most people need. I cannot wait to return to Paris soon to try some of these restaurants. Please keep it up :-) Oh...and thanks...the vibe I am getting from this is "a warm and fuzzy feeling" (that's great where I come from :-))
omg, it's such a treat to watch the lady shovel food frenetically into her food hole! Je suis d'acccord, monsieur!!
Thank you for mentioning the prices, so many food channels dont do that and i really like to know what things cost!👍
OMG 🤪 you all are killing me ! Everything looks so delicious
I am jealous ..so nice to see people enjoying eating ❤️ from Mexico
Me too! Be there first of November!
Love your videos I will be there end of Oct I will definitely try these restaurants looks amazing 🤩

Growing up in Wisconsin, that’s a staple for the holidays and family gatherings
DO NOT TRY THE FRENCCH STEAK TARTAR...! No 1; HE HEALTHY ONE CALL TATAR and not tartar. THE TARTAR IS FRESHLY MADE AND IT WILL GET YOU WORM IN THE STOMACH AS ROW MEAT NOT MADE LIKE THE TATARS (not TARTARS ) MAKES.
EAT TATAR BEAFSTEAK but NEVER TARTAR. DIFERENT IS THE
TATAR beefsteak is take 7-10 days for to keep it in olive oil and rosemary and other type of the spice for to KILL OUT ALL HARMFUL BACTERIA....
@@gomogo2000 where do you find the small dark rye bread?
@@lauraguida8482 We get either cocktail rye or small rye loaf at Pick N Save. I'm sure many other stores off the same.
This one is definitely one of my favorites... watched this more than 5 times already and still enjoyed it...💙💙💙
Love your videos it is so helpful for our recent paris trip!
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Paris is one of my favorite cities in the World and with good Reason!!
There is no sugar in french mayo, the ratio is perfect
@@johnvanuatu9181
Who puts sugar in mayonnaise ??? 😵
@@ninaelsbethgustavsen2131 Any commercially made will contain sugar.
No silly. The boss was a ba..t..rd
I was still at school remember. Many a time I ended up cooking!!! that's another story.
When you show yourselves eating snails it reminds me of then. We were a bit up market for the area, however, the silver trays and clutches that accompanied the snails were exactly the same.
Some things haven't changed
We would get the French snail shells in wooden boxes packed in straw or wooden shavings I cannot remember.
Merci.
As always you delivered us awesomeness and an in-depth review on these equally amazing restaurants... thanks a lot for this...💙
@@LesFrenchiesTravel yes of course your channel is very much interesting and there is so much to learn to ... keep it up and more power...
@@LesFrenchiesTravel And so kind of you to respond to folk who post their appreciation of you. There are quite a few, who seem to ignore completely the Comments which they have attracted. A shame.
Another great video 👍👍 Wow lovely restaurants the food looked amazing...Gosh the chocolate profiteroles👌👌
I’ve so been enjoying your videos and love learning about places like this. It’s fun to know what dishes are typical things folks order, too. The two of you have that joie de vivre in each video that makes me want to hop on a plane right now!
On y va! Enjoying your channel in Kyoto, Japan! Keep it coming!
Les Frenchies, you're doing a great job, thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I'm loving your content of the greatest city in the world! You keep making me add "things" to my list of places to eat in Paris! Merci! My wife and I will be in Paris next month so excited to try some new places!
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Yes, Great Video; and your enthusiasm is off the charts!!! Love it.
Oh and I couldn't agree more about profiteroles!! :)
I love all your recommendations! We just got back from Paris a month ago and I already am missing the food 🥺
One restaurant we went to was called Bouillon Pigalle.
You don`t need to speak French to go to Paris , most people speak English .
Bone marrow is God’s butter! Yum, Yum!!! I loved everything you all eat and loved watching you all enjoy. 💃🏽😋🇫🇷
And we used to say "les pieds de Dieu" (God's feet) about the camembert (cheese) !
I Lived in the upper stairs of where "Chez Savy" is. Excellent table, excellent wine menu et perfect services
@@LesFrenchiesTravel yes I did! Always love your videos and the ideas they give me for next trip!
A big THANKYOU to both of you. I love Paris and go there at least two or three times a year, always looking for authentic gastronomy. Thank you very much, for the inspiring videos. You are incredibly personable an do a really good job. Oh, it is wonderful to enjoy life with good food.
Yes, it is 😊
Counting down the days...6 weeks until we are in Paris. Please advise - are French restaurants open to sharing plates? I'm not sure we would be able to eat two entrees, main courses and desserts. Thanks!
I look forward to visiting Paris and dining at these places. Thank you for the wonderful video.
11m45sec: Profiterole au chocolat! Try before you die!! Must be on your bucketlist, first see Paris, and taste a Profiterole au chocolat! mmmmmmmmmmm!

Très bien et votre sélection est extraordinaire. Vive Paris et son aventure gastronomique
But not always: for example the very famous cassoulet is normally gluten-free (the thickness of the sauce comes from the natural pork gelatine and the bean's starch.
bonjour - the food looked delicious and merci for the Paris restaurant experience - bon appetit.
I love how you guys roll! This video was such a delight. Thank you.
You two knock it out of the park every time. 🥂
I just saw your message about your get together with your fans, of which I am a very enthusiastic one. I wish in Paris for most of the month of June and am sorry I can’t say hello because I think the two of you are some of the most appealing people on You Tube. The content never gets old and you set the perfect tone in being passionate about your subject while not trying to monetize the concept at every turn. You’ve found the sweet spot. Please keep these videos coming.
I enjoy your food videos very much. Ive watched the one about best french desserts several times! I tried bone marrow for the first time at a restaurant called Papa Poule in Paris. I’m afraid I didn’t like it much, weird semi-drippy texture. You have to try these things though eh! 🙂
Please, what’s the title of the video which shows the best French dessert ?! Merci.
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Agreed. Bone marrow is so yummy. I love it,too..Everytime my mother would make soup with bones who had marrow in them she would put the marrow aside for me to eat...one of my favourite things...delicious. But yeah,it s like pig s brain, not everybody s thing. I like both.

Thanks to this, I reserved a table for dinner at Le Bistrot de Paris❤

Hey, Frenchies, I just love your channel so much! If I can give a suggestion here, it would be incredible to have a video of the top spots for movies and tv series in Paris… highlighting which movies were filmed in the specific places there. Thanks for this amazing content and salute from Brazil 🇧🇷
Salut mon mignon.... cool food video in Paris unfortunately that city is not like it used to be with all those migrants everywhere in the city these days!!!
De los mejores videos que he visto y me ha encantado que visitaran 5 restaurantes en un solo video.
I was very interested in your reviews of the top five bistros in Paris. Then I noticed that three of the five for sure, maybe all five, were part of the same restaurant group. Were you paid to do these reviews? I'm now wondering about all your other You Tube videos and reviews of hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, etc. Shame on me, I thought these were independent, unbiased reviews.
Hmmmm 🧐
Interesting….
It seems now that money is involved you can’t really trust any content creator reviews.
What a paranoid response to a tourist guide video
But it's not a review of 5 top restaurants, it's 5 restaurants that locals eat at. They ate local food at restaurants that locals eat at. The only review was the google review rating they showed for each.
Found you guys/gals & am so thankful for your tips!!! We’re going in April & I can’t thank you enough. I’m watching every video! 🤘🏼💕
Just came back from a long weekend in Paris. Thank you very much for your good advice! From this video we could try Le Petit Vendôme and it was a great experience. We also definetely recommend to go there!
