- Here is my version of George Michael's arrangement of this song - so, a tribute to both George and Stevie!
This video is a big one... (both in duration and meaning)! My Dad spent a long time trying to convince me to do a version of this song and I finally plucked up the courage and gave it a go in the final recital of my music degree and all I can say is it just felt special...
Almost exactly a year later after graduating, I was granted the crazy opportunity to go back and record my own orchestral version with the Royal Northern College of Music Session Orchestra. The feeling of singing this song with that sound behind was honestly indescribable... What is more crazy is that the song was rehearsed and record in 10 MINUTES?! The talent on the stage in this video is staggering and it was such honour to have collaborated with them and to now be able to share this video with you.

Nice cover. James did an admirable personal interpretation. Its so hard to listen this and not want to hear George Michael but your "version" was delightful and the crescendo at 4 min was a nice surprise to the end... a little more Brass would have been spectacular IMO

Admirable cover of a brilliant Stevie Wonder song. But this one couldn’t have been possible without one of the most underrated vocalists of our time, George Michael.

Absolutely beautiful voice..... and performed it well...... but the song owned him, he didn't own the song. I only ever heard two people own it. If he'd have owned it, it could have had the edge to tip it into brilliance. Just fell short.
But hey...... you probably can't ever exceed perfection (Stevie Wonder and George).
A very worthy effort though. Very Well done, talented young man with a versatile and beautiful voice !!!!
And yes....the backing was superb as well.
Paradoxically, it's interesting to note that it was all put together in 10 minutes. Spontaneity with a song as complex as this (plus Talent, of course), with it's subtle nuances made this very special indeed.

He sounds great and did justice to this masterpiece by Stevie Wonder. He didn't try to sound like Stevie on certain parts which proves that no one can sing it like Stevie but he did an admirable job.
Really listen to this song bc it's talking about the state of the world today in such a precise manner that you can't help but understand what Stevie Wonder was trying to say about people ignoring the lawlessness of their actions and what will become of them if they don't change.
