Amazing that Chris recently said (on a podcast hosted by A7X's bassist) that this was the most terrifying moment of his career (or life?). He said it was so challenging for a bunch of reasons, such as the freezing cold and the fact that he was surrounded by his own voice coming back at him, but delayed. And then of course it was incredibly intimidating because of how many people were watching. I just came to see how bad the performance was, but this was amazing.
Chris Daughtry has an awesome rock voice... and singing the National Anthem is one of the hardest songs to sing... and he nailed it! Awesome... I got goosebumps just hearing it!
Here you can't see, but he had tears streaming down his face at the end when I watched this live, he's overcome with emotion ,not singing badly as some have said.
DAMN That's the best rendition of our National Anthem I've ever heard! He friggin nailed it, which is amazing, because it's one of the hardest songs to sing.

Hi, I am italian but i dont know how but, everytime i listen to the American anthem i have shiver on my skin and tears comes out from my eyes, I am pround of being italian but almost all my heart goes this amazing country,i feel part of it and also when i was in USA i felt at home, USA always in my heart, big respect and admiration to this great country! Something about our National Anthem always gives me chills. It's crazy how everyone can be going about their normal everyday activities, but when we hear our National Anthem, everyone stops whatever they are doing, regardless of how busy or distracted they may be. They stop and just listen and respect the song. This is one of the best performances of this song that I can remember. Definitely gave me goosebumps.

this is one of the few times where I've actually heard someone sing the national anthem with sincerity. Most times people sing it like there never was a revolutionary war, just to show off their talents and/or never really think about all the people who gave their lives up for the independence of this country. I think Chris really grabbed hold to the seriousness of the song and thats why its sounded so lovely. Happy Independence Day America!

Best version I've ever heard! Chris could sing the phonebook to me and I'd get chills, lol....his voice is unbelieveable! Also, I've seen a clearer version of this video before...at the end, there's actually a tear goin' down his face.
