    I love the narrated randori, very interesting and I think everyone would love more of these. You could also potenially consider slowing down or pausing at certain points to point out or circle hand position or movements.
    Also love how you gained 10 pounds every time you mentioned the weight difference. 40 pounds, 50 pounds, 60 pounds, you were a ninja hiding those big macs in your Gi and snacking on them without the viewer seeing 🤣

    the rear foot position in Koshi-Guroma in 1:53 is very common and successful in competiton. Could you explain the details of it? Everyone explains the traditional approach but I've never seen someone break down those "practical" movements that have success in competition.

    I really do admire what this channel does for the Judo community. It really does bring in practitioners of the sport!
    Randori in Japan isn’t so much trying to win, it’s relaxed, constructive and based on respect
    I think the heavy grip fighting and continuously trying to throw him for ippon is disrespectful and should be reserved for competition.
    Especially since reserving dignity (face) is an assumed consensus among not only Japanese people.

    I noticed the Ura nage and wondered what your thoughts were on lower belts using the technique. I was told it was impolite to complete the throw and should merely pick uke up. Would you consider it rude during randori?

    • @Shigashi84
      @Shigashi84  4 года назад +3

      beginners do not do ura nage. we also heavily discourage tani otoshi. highest risk of injury with that throw. The rule is, if you can put them down in a controlled way then you can finish it. But its a really hard throw to control so most people just lift and not finish.
