I love the narrated randori, very interesting and I think everyone would love more of these. You could also potenially consider slowing down or pausing at certain points to point out or circle hand position or movements.
Also love how you gained 10 pounds every time you mentioned the weight difference. 40 pounds, 50 pounds, 60 pounds, you were a ninja hiding those big macs in your Gi and snacking on them without the viewer seeing 🤣
Holiday weight gain. haha
Probably because he felt guilty throwing around is opponent so easily, he had to add 10 lbs increments to off-set his guilt
I like how your weight goes up every time you mention it 40 lbs, 50 lbs, 60! 😂
He get's stronger and more dense every throw.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Indeed, if this video was 30 mins long you'd outweig him by 200 pounds :)
I came to the comment section to make sure someone brought that up. If only we all could cultivate mass so quickly 😜
Awesome. There are so many narrated bjj rolls, I have been waiting for a judo one for ages.
So much to study.
Always soo much! Maybe I will make more of these. Btw Your video is coming! Once the dojo opens back up after the holidays 🎉
@@Shigashi84 awesome thank you. I am still in a holiday food coma anyway so there is no rush!
@@Shigashi84 please do make more of these! Brilliant content.
There are tons of narrated BJJ matches, I personally love Keenan Cornelius'. I couldn't find any Judo ones until now. I'm super happy Shintaro Higashi is doing this.
These narrated videos are great. Could we please get more?
I love the narration and analysis. This by far is my favorite judo youtube channel please keep it up!!
MORE OF THAT STUFF!!! I am learning so much !
Please do more of this it’s a good way of learning judo. It’s also good for a recap of what you have been teaching all this while
The narrative style of video is awesome. Great job for helping other Judoka out with kumi kata and randori strategy. 👍
Please do more of the narrated randori series! This is great!
this channel is CRIMINALLY underrated, amazing stuff
That koshi guruma was magic. Poor dude nearly lost his head. You look very relaxed. No malice. A true master.
So sick. I'm loving these. So glad I started my Judo journey to round out my grappling. Also, Shintaro repping mad Sigma energy with that haircut 😂
I've been doing judo for years and have had such a hard time knowing what to do in randori as it is never taught. We just have to figure out what to do after drilling uchikomi repeatedly. This is gold for me and sadly doesn't exist much online elsewhere. Please do more!!
I loved this. Watching the pros is always a treat.
I makes me want to "get there" too. Cheers.
Amazing!!! I live uke’s no handed kip up while gassed! This was so cool. You can tell you were getting after it and playing your best game. Still got it Shin!
😁🎉
That was great! Please make more narrating randoris soon!
Thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for this, Mr. Higashi.
Very enjoyable, to watch. The master level judokan is impressive, as was the stopping techniques, by the high b.b.m. thank-you, for sharing, from Canada. Yup, I'm a hoser.
🇨🇦😉😊
MMA shredded (Jeff Chan) channel exploded when he was doing narrated sparring and lots of technical details.
This is what people wanna see when watching judo on RUclips (apart from international competitions).
Love this! Please do more of these. Respect from the UK 👍
I really enjoyed this shintaro-san please do more!
I love this format, please do some more!
Besides the weight, I think you also had some kind of home advantage. Your opponent, understandably, appears to have way less self-confidence here and looks a bit like he is testing the water to some point.
Also, maybe some solo movement drills for foot placement/how to balance when moving? I’m currently recovering from an injury but really look forward to joining a Judo gym once I’m fully healed 🙏
the rear foot position in Koshi-Guroma in 1:53 is very common and successful in competiton. Could you explain the details of it? Everyone explains the traditional approach but I've never seen someone break down those "practical" movements that have success in competition.
Look at Russian/Georgian judokas they do it with one step like in the video
Please please please do more of these, this was a joy to watch. One day I hope to come and visit your dojo and train with you, and when I do you have my total permission to beat the shit out of me and put it on RUclips just like this!
Very interesting, thank you. More please!
Yes WE want MORE !
Randori is really hard. The movies are SO much harder when your opponent is resisting you.
Nice! Love the narrated randori series. Keep it up!!!
awesome as always!
Thanks for narrating and explaining Kumi Kata, happy new year!!
More of this content please!
Please do more narrated randori
We want to see more of you doing awesome work!
Nice narration i love kodhi guruma would love you to do slow motion and explain some parts of these randori sessions. Keep up the good work though
Meant koshi guruma😀
Please more randori footage if you can.
Legend has it, Shintaro now outweighs him by 70 pounds
Oh man, I've been wanting one of these
That was beautiful
Awesome video 👍
Please do more of these when restrictions allow. Fantastic narration, and insight. You should outweigh him by 300 pounds by now, if my math is right.
Lol. I miss Randori!
I really do admire what this channel does for the Judo community. It really does bring in practitioners of the sport!
Randori in Japan isn’t so much trying to win, it’s relaxed, constructive and based on respect
I think the heavy grip fighting and continuously trying to throw him for ippon is disrespectful and should be reserved for competition.
Especially since reserving dignity (face) is an assumed consensus among not only Japanese people.
Imagine this guys grip strength !!!
Great stuff
Cool, Sensei. Tutorial applicated
thanks
More videos like this!
very interesting ! keep it up more good stuff like this !
love frome france
This makes me nostalgic. I would always be the guy losing thought huahauahaua
Wow you were throwing him like a rag doll
I outweigh him by 40lbs, I outweigh him by 50lb, I outweigh him by 60lbs. Damn dude your gaining weight quick in the videos xD
Interesting stuff! Like chess, with muscles.
More of this.
Nice randori.
0:46 nice sumi geishi
I love how it's 40 pounds at first and in the end it's 60 pounds lol
just wow
Oss show 💪
Nice idea man
Can you do a judo stretching video? Big fan!
ok i outweigh him by 40 pounds ... [1 minute later] ... i know, i outweigh him by 50 pounds ... [1 minute later] ... ok, i outweigh him by 60 pounds. FASTEST - GAINS - EVER! how is he doing that?!? :-D
White belt girl back there doing amazing
I noticed the Ura nage and wondered what your thoughts were on lower belts using the technique. I was told it was impolite to complete the throw and should merely pick uke up. Would you consider it rude during randori?
beginners do not do ura nage. we also heavily discourage tani otoshi. highest risk of injury with that throw. The rule is, if you can put them down in a controlled way then you can finish it. But its a really hard throw to control so most people just lift and not finish.
Shintaro Higashi Thank you very much for the reply sensei.
Damn, he gained 20 punds during that randori?
your oponent is using the standard kusakura judogi?
This is one of those rolls that make u think this sport isn't for you lol
Shintaro, I’m not quite sure that your opponent really has a black belt... I’ve never seen a black-belted sportsman who can’t get even a single-hand grip. Just so strange for me... Maybe, I’m wrong
What was that o goshi you did? You called it seoi goshi?
Utsuri goshi friend!
@@konstantinos-antoniosbme-m6472 gonna look it up looks cool
Rokudan.
I love how your weight difference increases every time you talk about it, have you edited out the part where you eat burgers after each technique? 😂
it presents my holiday weight gain. haha
More like 80 lbs?
hahaha. Great seeing you the other day !!!!!!!
I know there's a LOT to "take in" from your videos, but the amount of weight you gained in roughly 3.5mins tops ANY christmas-holyday-feast i've ever been part of! Quite _disconcerting_ to say the least. 😅
I gotta admit, Im a volume eater... lol
Isn't it disrespectful to roll with a stripe belt? Shouldn't you put on a blackbelt when you free practice?
Depends where you are. Some people only wear the belt ceremoniously.
@@Shigashi84 i guess so. I trained under Shigeyuki Sukigara, Taro Hayashi, Randy Leatherwood, and Phil Porter and I never saw any of them roll with a stripe belt on.
Awesome stuff
