This dude said "braking too late, not enough track knowledge at the moment, very rusty" and proceeded to nail the 153rd fastest lap on the leaderboard 😂 legend
2:13 good trail braking, brakes look like they're maybe at 50% when he starts to turn in 5:05 bad trail braking, brakes are at 100% when the turn in starts, he lets off brakes at the moment he starts turn 6:42 good trail braking, another good example at turn 1, brakes around 60% when turn in starts
Love to see this kind of videos in depth in detail about every little thing your videos are what this game needs it can be quite intimidating when you first coming into a harder f1 game like this one
Been playing rally games for half a year, and formula only for about 10 hours. Your video tutorials have helped a ton! Valuable information :) Coming from rally sims I struggle with braking distance and I keep failing on finding consistent lap times. I don't spin the car anymore, but I lock wheels too often while braking.. really hard to spot the moment when the wheels are locking at different speeds.
What I found out is, that since the heavier cars, I struggle to trial brake, but I found in 2019 the trick to use a soft front arb and very stiff rear arb to make the front feel easier to do better trail braking and also stiffen the front suspension or soften the rear suspension, if it's too unstable.
Du bist so ne Legende man, konnte dank deinen Videos zumindest schonmal auf Rang 4500 in Silverstone landen. Danke für all die Tipps! - Dein Nemesis Pichu
@@ccramit thats how it is irl but not in this game. you dont lose time by braking 100% with abs, what you do lose is the extra rotation without it so it kinda balances itself
Am I the only one who has this habit? which is me using only my feet fingers to accelerate like I don’t put my whole feet on the throttle pedal only my fingers for some reason, but not the case with braking
Ah I’m meant to reduce braking while turning! I was wondering how it was possible because I thought you had to reduce it while still in a straight line, so my car just wouldn’t stop
Typically trail braking is more for late apex's, don't necessarily need to do it on all corners, but it can help with transferring the weight more smoothly. "It should be said that it's not necessary to trail brake into all corners. Trail braking is best suited to slower corners where we want to 'rotate' the car before the apex to turn the car more and open up the exit, allowing us to get on the throttle earlier."
Sehr gutes Video.
You drive slower with abs on and it has no point because it's not realistic, you have to break before entering the turn and accelerate through the turn to prevent wheels from blocking
Is there a way to see your brake input in replays? I'm having trouble monitoring my brake levels while driving, so it's hard to know if I'm braking too much or too little
I recommend recording your laps. Either shadow play on PC or using a cheap capture card for console. That way you can actually compare bad laps to good laps with video and having all your brake and throttle traces visible.
Ngl having the throttle and brake traces as individual osd elements for resizing instead of with rpm gear etc... would be useful for looking back on a lap and seeing what you were doing. Hope codemasters separates those osd elements 😁 (curious to know what you used to resize them 😂)
It would be great to have those elements resized! Unfortunately, I added that in editing as a mask to make it easier to see, so there is still no way to do it on the game. Maybe codemasters will add that in the future :)
Hab ich da was falsch verstanden?
Without. Some people say ABS is faster if you know what you are doing, but every single Esports driver will tell you that it is faster to drive without any assists once you get the hang of it.
I often see this where I am like HOW!!!! So let's see.... (I do REALLY hate the far to outside lines you see in these F1 games. I mean the game allows it... but just not realistic
👋 Marcel can you do a video where you talk about the differences in a TT setup and a racing setup. How to make a TT setup into a race setup. Love the videos 😃
There are many things you can do depending on what track you are racing at. In general, TT setups are very oversteery, which makes the rear really unstable. So either raise the rear wing by 1 or 2, or lower the rear anti-roll bar, and/or lower the rear suspension. Upping the front suspension and/or front anti roll bar by 1 or 2 also helps to stabilize the car. So say a TT setup is like Front Wing - 9 Rear Wing - 7 Front Suspenion - 1 Rear Suspension - 7 Front Anti-Roll Bar - 1 Rear Anti-Roll Bar - 7 You can up the wings to 9-8 to stabilize the rear. Or raise the front suspension and/or front ARB to 2 and lower the rear suspension and/or rear ARB to 5 or 6. It just depends on what you want to sacrifice. Raising the rear wing gives you stability, but induces more understeer and lowers top speed. High antiroll bars stabilize cars through corners at the cost of tire wear. And stiffer suspension keeps the car stabilized in a straight line, creating less drag, but makes the car more difficult to handle in corners as it is more stiff. So depending on the track and your driving style, you have to decide what you want to sacrifice in the car in order to prioritize something else. Sounds difficult at first, but just adjusting the wings, suspension, and anti roll bars by 1 or 2 clicks ought to stabilize the car enough for races at most tracks. Setups can be way more customizable, but as you are asking this question, I assume you aren't super experienced with setups, and so I would suggest just playing around with these three settings first. Then once you get a better feel for the car, you can try adjusting the other settings in the setup menu. But adjusting wings and suspension geometry will probably be the easiest way to stabilize a TT setup.
i cant even hit 100% on my Pedals without instantly locking up this game is a buggy mess! i had a different wheel before with different pedals and i could break as hard as i wanted without ever locking up lol now with a T300 and the Standart 2 Pedal Set i lock up instantly sometimes i dont even need to hit 100% on the padal lol ... well EA Game so i dont wonder anymore

Well, he IS an Esports driver. Not very surprising.
LOL! this is the comment i was looking for. I was looking at the leaderboard position and saw 251 and was like yep, these are the aliens.
This is probably the tutorial I needed the most of all. Thanks a lot Marcel!
Let me know if it has helped you!

In asseto corsa you can break much more while turning, which is a bit more realistic, you don't instantly get a lockup.

Im new to sim racing in F1, iv watched hotlap videos etc, but this is probably the most important video iv watched, shaved 2 seconds off my laptime!
Best trail braking video I’ve seen and definitely the most helpful, Thanks Marcel, cheers!

That’s the tutorial I was waiting for . Let’s goooo
🙏
Same bro
i am very new to the f1 simracing at all so i try to learn form the beginning right. hope it dont take months :) thank you for sharing this pro Tips
Great video marcel.

I have to drive with ABS on users in my league so this should help me a lot around Bahrain. Danke, Marcel
That thumbnail 🚀🚀🚀
Thanks for the tutorial I wouldn't be watching as much video because I have exams coming up
Good luck!:)
Wieder mal gutes Video 👍
How do you get acceleration bar and braking bar on screen
Tnxs Marcel for the tutoiial. I go pactice it this week/month ...
Should i trailbraking if im using abs or its unnecessary than?
Still trailbrake. ABS just automatically let's off the brake enough so you don't lock up. Other than that, the brakes still function the same.
@@ccramit thats how it is irl but not in this game. you dont lose time by braking 100% with abs, what you do lose is the extra rotation without it so it kinda balances itself

Marcel, is there a point in doing this with abs

You have to up shift early I think
Do you have the Break Performance Kit from Fanatec ? What is your Setup there ?
Does this help with ABS on?
You drive slower with abs on and it has no point because it's not realistic, you have to break before entering the turn and accelerate through the turn to prevent wheels from blocking

Ist trotzdem so im Game:/
Gutes video, mach weiter so!!
guy explains trail braking and just casually does 153rd best time :D

Aber auch wieder klasse Video wie immer 😍😍
I often see this where I am like HOW!!!! So let's see.... (I do REALLY hate the far to outside lines you see in these F1 games. I mean the game allows it... but just not realistic
in real F1 especially on Bahrain they take the far to almost outside line on a few turns. they usually have 2 wheels on track for some of these turns
Cheers, thanks.
Nice video
Tnx It will help
I still find way too difficult to do this on a G29 pedal set..
You have to set up your clutch as your break pedal
@@Cardinals_garden that's what I tried last. It works well =)
Does it work on controller also? Great tutorial btw
